  1. I let it go to 0:00 for popcorn...only because I have found that getting the perfect popping time is by pressing the popcorn button followed by two presses of the "add 30 seconds" button.
  2. Tulsi is the perfect Trump running mate, imo. Who you got??
  3. Her address can be changed on the DS-260 at NVC. NVC can then route the case to the consulate of her residence. After you have the case number from NVC, you can contact them to ensure proper routing.
  4. Don't do it. There are multiple cases here on VJ which were denied for trying to obtain a K-1 after a traditional marriage. You would be wise to marry, then start the spousal visa process. As stated above, the processing times are not much different, while the CR-1 is far superior. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 3-6 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 3-6 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire K-1 entrant cannot file for citizenship until after having Green Card for 3 years. Once an I-129F has been approved, delaying the case is difficult to impossible if the need arises. CR-1/IR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. The clock for citizenship filing starts immediately upon entry to the US. A CR-1/IR-1 case can be delayed indefinitely at NVC if the need arises.
  5. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. 6. ****New topic for MTL DS-5535 merged into existing thread***
  7. Arabic if that is the language where they reside now.
  8. The "not available" is normally reserved for police reports/documents which cannot be obtained in any manner by non-citizens or people outside that particular country. You can try to get NVC to DQ your case, but they might just show the letter rejected or missing until you submit the police report.
  9. Good luck. Yes, there are only 100 possible questions. Wife re-wrote the list from USCIS, then studied that for a couple weeks.
  10. Exactly. There are similar cautions in the online N-400 application, too.
  11. "May Not" does not mean you do not meet the requirement.
  12. Ability to support a new immigrant is determined by current income, not tax returns......unless self-employed. Since you mentioned salary, current annual income is calculated by: Gross income from most recent paystub multiplied by the number of pay periods in 12 months.
  13. ***I moved this topic to the MENA regional forum*** I think you have done all you can do.
  14. That just seems like a long trip to the US without also planning to meet a boyfriend. I wish you good luck on your journey. If you apply to adjust status, remember that you cannot travel outside the US or work in any way inside the US without proper authority (Advance Parole and Employment Authorization Document). That could take 3 to 6 months. Good luck.
  15. There have been MANY MENA country cases here on VJ over the past 8 years I have been around.
  16. The only opinion which counts is that of the Consulate Officer. More time together is ALWAYS a good thing for US immigration...especially for some countries.
  17. Current income is calculated as follows: Gross income from most recent paystub multiplied times the number of pay periods in a year (12 months). Self-employed persons must use other methods.
  18. The guideline pertains to CURRENT income....not what was reported on tax returns.
  19. I don't think so. From what country did you travel?
  20. Why didn't you tell CBP that you were also going to visit the boyfriend? You traveled to his state. Have you been in this relationship long?
  21. Yep. Better to have a backup I-130, imo. You just never know what the future holds.
  22. Agree. I don't think fewer pieces of evidence for an I-751 is an advantage. I would opt for more rather than less when it comes to an I-751.
  23. How long did it take for the I-824 approval? That question is asked from time to time.
  24. It won't expire if the priority date is not current. Is the PD in 2019?
