DQ’d but received FE Notice Insufficient Income
Crazy Cat replied to Coleo67's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Doesn't matter. Just explain that Father is full Joint sponsor with qualifying income at interview. -
485 denied

I see nothing to appeal. I assume you received an RFE for these items? -
CR1 APPROVED....but
Crazy Cat replied to andyphhh's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
The B2 cancellation, in itself, will not affect the spousal visa case. From what you posted it doesn't sound as if you have a ban. -

Sometimes, Consulate Officers will ask for it to be uploaded anyway. Uploading it now will prevent that delay. You are already DQ and in line for an interview date. -
It is rare...but it happens sometimes....probably had an issue with finger prints when you interviewed. Attend the appointment.

I think it would be better. Rather than combining his income with your income, he can be a full joint sponsor even if under the same household. It sounds like he is a well-qualified Joint Sponsor. Of course, as the primary sponsor, you also must provide an I-864 (as you have already done). -
So, now Biden and Harris are using Medicare to transmit campaign messages? Is this not a violation of campaign law? This is an email I received a few minutes ago: " With Open Enrollment for Medicare around the corner, I want to make sure you're aware of historic changes to Medicare that are lowering health care costs and ensuring that every American has the peace of mind that comes with quality, affordable health care. Because Medicare benefits are getting stronger, it is more important than ever to look at your drug coverage for 2025 during Medicare Open Enrollment and make sure you are enrolled in the Medicare Part D plan that is best for you. You can learn more about these benefits and review your options at Medicare.gov starting in early October. Medicare Open Enrollment runs from October 15th through December 7th. These historic reforms are a result of the Inflation Reduction Act that I signed into law and that Vice President Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to secure. This new law gives Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, like the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs does on behalf of our nation's veterans and servicemembers. Medicare has been able to cap the cost of insulin for seniors with diabetes at $35 a month for each covered insulin instead of as much as $400 a month. Recommended vaccines, like those to treat shingles, are free for people with Medicare prescription drug coverage. Starting in January 2025, your total out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs will be capped at $2,000 a year, no matter how expensive your prescription drugs are. That means you will not pay more than $2,000 per year on prescription drugs covered under Medicare prescription drug coverage, or Part D — that includes expensive prescription drugs to treat cancer, chronic illnesses, and more. And if you have had high drug costs in 2024 and have reached what's called the catastrophic coverage phase, you won't have to pay any more out of pocket. These reforms not only save seniors money, they also save money for American taxpayers. In fact, taxpayers are expected to save $160 billion over the next decade because Medicare is now able to negotiate drug prices alongside other reforms — and we're just getting started. In addition to these cost-saving benefits that are in effect in 2025, Medicare recently announced that it has reached agreement with pharmaceutical companies for new, lower prices for ten of the most expensive and most frequently used prescription drugs in Medicare. These new, lower prices will go into effect in 2026, and Medicare will continue to negotiate prices for additional drugs each year for the foreseeable future. These are just some of the ways my Administration has worked to help you save money on your health care costs and to provide a little more breathing room for you and your families. Vice President Harris and I believe that health care should be a right, not a privilege. I encourage you to take advantage of these new, lower-cost benefits as part of stronger, better Medicare coverage that you deserve."

DQ’d but received FE Notice Insufficient Income

Sounds like your income, alone, is insufficient. I would ask Father to submit an I-864 as the Joint Sponsor, not as a family member. Upload and take father's I-864 and evidence of father's CURRENT annual income to the interview. W-2s are not evidence of current income. They are evidence of past income. Good luck. (Note: Also be prepared to present an I-864a from Father's spouse). -
Weird Update Today
Crazy Cat replied to hmwtx's topic in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
Someone probably pressed the wrong status update key. I wouldn't worry. The "what if" mental gymnastics can drive a person crazy. Hopefully, you'll hear good news soon. -

Joint sponsor Needed
Crazy Cat replied to Ayari's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Your US citizen wife doesn't have family or friends in the US who would be a Joint sponsor? The Consulate Officer has full discretion to require one. -
Joint sponsor Needed

In the military, we have a saying..."Cooperate and Graduate"......just follow their instructions. -
Joint sponsor Needed

It is almost always better to take the path of least resistance. Give them exactly what they want...a well qualified joint sponsor. They already had the things you gave them. -
Visa denied, told to apply "in the future"
Crazy Cat replied to imkmsitsover's topic in Tourist Visas
The vast majority of B visa denials are due to not being able to demonstrate strong ties to home country. Other than re-applying, there is really no way to know what they will do. Good luck. -
Why No Picture Requirement for Online N-400?
Crazy Cat replied to provec's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Required for passport....not always required to submit with N-400. USCIS used wife's biometric photo for her naturalization certificate picture. -
If she has not traveled by the expiration date on the issued visa, it (the visa) will expire. At that point the consulate can, at their discretion (if the visa holder could not travel due to circumstances beyond their control) re-issue the visa. It would require a new medical and possibly fees and an additional interview.

Typical processing times on linline filing of N-400
Crazy Cat replied to Ducker's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Wife file N-400 in Aug 2022. She took the oath in Jan 2023. Took less than 6 months...Dallas local office. Good luck. Note: USCIS reused biometrics. -

Crazy Cat replied to Cranberry_anon's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Here are the exact requirements for a birth certificate form Ireland: I'm not sure why your agency thinks a BC in English would be an issue. Birth Certificates Available Fees: €20 (plus postage). There is a fee for additional copies at the time of issuance. Document Name: Birth certificate Issuing Authority: Issued by either the local registry office or the Registrar General in Dublin. Special Seal(s) / Color / Format: Civil or “Long-form” Irish Birth Certificates From 2004 all Civil Certificates (Domestic Adoption, Birth, Death, Marriage, Stillbirth, and Civil Partnership) are issued on A4 sized certificates. Procedure for Obtaining: Available online through the Health Service Executive (HSE) here. Certified Copies: Certified Copies are not available. At the bottom of the certificate is the warning that "TO ALTER THIS DOCUMENT OR TO UTTER IT SO ALTERED IS A SERIOUS OFFENSE”. These certificates are generally available for all births from January 1, 1894. Exceptions: None Comments: In 2004 the Irish Department of Health - the Health Service Executive (HSE) - introduced a computerized system for recording the registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the Republic of Ireland. Any record created prior to 2004 has also been transferred to this new electronic State database by scanning the original entries in the Registers for Births, Deaths and Marriages on to the new computerized system. Certificates are now issued based on these records where a scan of the original Register Entry is printed on to Certificate paper. Any birth registered before the 1 OCTOBER 1997 does not provide the following details: A surname of the child (it is assumed that the child takes the surname of the Father when he is named on the Birth Certificate or the surname of Mother if the Father is not named on the Birth Certificate). Any former surname of the Father. The occupation and address of the mother. These details are recorded on any birth registered on or after the 1 October 1997.
