  1. How old is the stepson? What about the mother of the child? She is okay to have the child go with the father?
  2. I think that it makes more sense to fix it before the interview.
  3. Googling a word by itself means nothing. You have to search for the word in the context that it deals with NVC.
  4. Why would that be the first thing that he utters? Also, why wait at the interview and risk delays or even rejection when it can be fixed ahead of time?
  5. What was the purpose of getting the IR-1 visa if the intent was not to move? Things like that will happen if you are trying to play the system.
  6. By living within your means. Also, it depends on where you live. It is more possible for someone to survive on that if the family lives in an area where the cost of living is not as high.
  7. I received a notice stating that the case is documentarily qualified. NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in PORT AU PRINCE, HAT to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner, and attorney (if applicable}. I am a bit confused since it says nothing about scheduling a medical. Isn't that usually the next step before an interview is scheduled?
  8. Thanks. I'll just wait for a response from NVC. I'm not really in a hurry given the precarious situation that the United States is in right now.
  9. Even though I have not worked since 2020 and only started working in 2023, my husband and I have filed joint returns since 2017. I qualify on my own as a sponsor and also provided information that I have enough money in the bank to be a sponsor. However, if need be, my husband can be a joint sponsor. I'm just waiting for the response from NVC. I advised them that I do not have a 2022 W2. I did upload the last 3 years joint tax returns.
  10. I am a US citizen and I want to enter my mother. I am currently at the NVC stage. I will be the sole sponsor and my income is sufficient. The problem is that I started working in 2023 but NVC is requesting that I submit a W2 for 2022. I already responded and stated that I do not have any W2s for 2022. I am just waiting for a response from NVC concerning that. Nowhere does it say that a person should be working the previous year in order to generate a W2 for that year. Is this possibly something that would require a joint sponsor who has a 2022 W2? Or is possible that if NVC wants a W2 that they would wait for a 2023 W2? What do you think?
  11. It's possible that it was a non-traditional marriage.
