if it is not more than 6 months outside the country and you are way below the outside country days limit.  I will just write Wednesday ( the day you left your city airport) and the day you arrive at your city airport .  It is more conservative estimate.

Hi! We created a  WAC timeline document and it includes a 2018 tab. I know you have a timeline going on in the October 2018 filers comments but if you share in the document, it would also make it more visible to filers from other months. Thanks! And wishing a speedier approval.

BRgirlUS reacted to tsabbas in 1-751 Filers - Service Centers have changed!
From this news article, it looks like all service centers (California, Nebraska, Vermont, and Texas) will all be adjudicating the I-751s. The change is that they're now going through the dropbox like other petitions and being routed from there. Hopefully it means faster processing times eventually.

Thank you for taking the time to update the table!!
Yesterday I received a letter stating my approval, and it also says to not leave the country until having the new card in hands.  The letter states that if I do need to leave the country, I should call them and schedule to go get a passport stamp, but the stamp needs to be approved on a case basis. I’ll share the letter here when I get back home tonight as it might be helpful to know upfront - in case someone has a trip planned and it happens to fall between case approval and receiving new card.

I never received any emails or text updates. I have to proactively login the app. But all in all, I’ll say I am a bit surprised with the updates and amount of information available to me this time around, compared to the AOS. The visa tracker app has been updated to “Card was picked up by the USPS” and they also provide the USPS tracking number so I can stalk where the card is.  It appears USCIS is adjusting to the 21st century.

No approval yet here, no news since they sent me a notice saying my biometrics would be used again.
I actually sent my application to the wrong center, California forwarded it to Texas. I’m an SRC filer.
And I will let this forum know if and when I will be approved. Hopefully soon and hopefully soon for all of us that are still waiting.

Updated with the Nebraska approvals: @RaJventurers, @sintiaF, @dumiduda1990, @lntdenver, @TuesdayBL, @ssdd_kk and @Hik07 (you didn't use the latest table and forgot to remove the quotes when you updated your info last time).

I've also been checking the Visajourney timelines, but it looks like the users don't update it, unfortunately, because it would be a good source of information for us.

I am sorry they made you go to secondary inspection. I travelled to Guam (US Territory) with GC and expired letter one month ago and didn't have to go through secondary. I hope it doesn't happen when I travel back to the continental US.
By what people have been posting here, secondary inspection for of GC+exp. letter is not a standard procedure. I hope you have a better experience next time.
Also, I see you are Mexican. I can understand why you would freak out. Your community is going through a lot of discrimination these days. Receive my thoughts of support.

I want to share my experience going through immigration with the expired GC and the extension letter and Global Entry.
The Global Entry machine read my GC but didn't print the receipt. Instead, a message appeared in the screen telling me to see an officer. I waited in the line and when the officer called me I said right away that I didn't have a receipt because my GC was expired and that I had an extension letter. He checked all my documents and stamped my passport with the "admitted" stamp and wrote "LPR" and my A number on the stamp and that was it. No second screening, thankfully. That was entering Guam, which is a US territory. Let's see how it will be going back to the continental US.
On a side note, I was surprised to see CBP officers questioning people during the boarding of an international flight leaving the US. I guess they are looking everywhere now.

I went to London in April and came back through Chicago with extension letter and expired GC. Immigration officer took both docs. Looked up my A number in his computer to confirm everything was still ok and stamped my passport. The whole thing took 2 minutes and I was on my way. Easiest experience by far for me coming back into the US.

I did have a slight issue in the UK thought. I needed to get a Visa to go there and you have to show the officer both the visa and US green card because I needed to show proof of my legal status in US. He looked at the extension letter for a while (dont think he has ever seen one before). Literally read every line of it before stamping my passport. Took him 10 minutes. He was nice though. We talked about how his parents and family were born in my native country and he was the first in his family to be born in the UK.

Last I was in London was 2017 and my GC was still valid. Did not take nearly as long that time round.

Interesting response. Do you think it means they already decided to approve? Maybe they just don't want to pass your case in front of the others that were submitted before.
February 2020 sounds right to me, considering the extension letter gives us 18 months. I'm curious, what date were you expecting to have it approved?
Your Service Center is Nebraska, right? If you check the processing times for I-751 you will see it is between 15.5 to 23.5 months (check here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/).
We all have to be patient....
On the other hand, for the ones that married a US Citizen, we will be able to apply for citizenship even before we have the I-751 approved, when we complete 3 years of the 1st GC.

That's a great idea. I don't know why people are worrying so much about the 18 months extension letter when you can get a i551 stamp which is even better and easy to prove your legal status with.
Many offices and employers will doubt when they see the NOA1 "we never heard about this document", but when they see the i551 stamp,  it's always good, no need to explain what is it.
