MandyAlex got a reaction from cc13 in Should I contact CEAC?
I was able to speak to an NVC agent and she told me to go back to my CEAC account and delete the uploaded docs and resubmit. She explained for some reason the docs never got to their end and that's the reason they only showed "UPLOADED". I remember hitting the "Submit Documents" red tab but not sure why they didn't upload, perhaps something odd with my internet connection, I don't know. So I just signed back on and did exactly as I was told and uploaded and submitted the docs again. It now shows "SUBMITTED" (as yours) so the waiting continues. Thanks for bringing up that point of yours saying "SUBMITTED", I would had never know the difference. I'll keep you updated as soon as I know anything new. Good luck with your case!

We didn't bring an Affidavit to the interview, nor one's required. If you feel better, you can either bring a copy of the old one or do a new one if your financial situation has change substantially. We weren't ask about the Affidavit during our interview and we got approved. As far as your IRS debt, I think it's a very small amount and should not be an issue. I'll be a bit concerned if you haven't make some type of payments arrangements but even though, I don't feel the small debt should pose a problem. Best of luck at your interview.

We had our AOS interview today in Orlando and went extremely well. The officer was super nice and polite and made us feel completely at ease. The interview only lasted about 15 minutes and although it was not approved on the spot, the officer said everything looked good and we should be getting the Residence card in a couple of weeks. He said he didn't see any issues with the application, had everything needed and was approving it at his level but it had to be revised and final approved by his supervisor. The officer did not ask us any "tricky" or odd questions, basically personal stuff and double checked everything we had put down on the I485. The interview was a complete breeze, quick and uneventful.

We didn't have an updated I-864 nor it was asked for during the interview. We brought originals and copies of our W2s and 1099s just in case but weren't requested either.

Thanks! We are May10 filers and did not made a SR for the I-485 part, but did (at 90 days) for WP and AP, which took about 6 months for card to arrive. At the interview, the officer welcomed us into his office, made us swear under oath, took a pic and fingerprinted my wife (beneficiary), and then asked us if we had any documents to turn in, which we did. The questions the officer asked us were name, address, which POI used, and all of the yes/no Part 8 questions of the I-485 we had already answered during application. He basically took out our I-485 application from the thick file he had on his desk on us and went down the list and checked them off one by one. That was it! We left extremely surprised with how easy the interview went, and how nice and cordial the interviewer officer treated us. He even apologized for our wait outside in the lobby, which wasn't at all long, we were called in into office like 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. Without any doubt, this was the most pleasant and unstressful experience we had have with USCIS as of yet.

Hope your interview gets scheduled soon and that it goes as smooth. Good luck.

Don't feel alone. We filed May 5 with NOA1 May 24. For some reason, some cases move faster than others. Hang in there, that's just the way USCIS works.

Another case here with status change. As of July 27, it now shows "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview". My wife's daughter (K2), also shows her case updated with same status change.

Anyone knows if the minor child, age 13, will also get interviewed?

We did biometrics on the 18th in Orlando. Appointment was @ 8:00 AM, about 15-20 ppl in line ahead of us. They made us fill out a form with basic, personal information, then pic and fingerprints. Everything went flawless. Gave us a (voluntary) service survey form which they passed with flying colors. All said and done by 8:40 AM👍

If you can plan to be at the interview, don't think it twice. It would not hurt and could make a huge difference in the outcome. We had ours last August and both of us got interviewed.

Finally today we received the texts from USCIS informing us the cases were received and their case numbers. Tried to track them on their website with the provided MSC numbers but nothing there yet. Guess must wait a few days??

MandyAlex got a reaction from EM_Vandaveer in K-2 Passport Stamp at POE
So, to follow up on my situation, I personally visited the Orlando CBP Deferred Inspection Office and explained the situation to the officer behind the reception desk, a very helpful, bilingual, gal. She took all the paperwork we brought with us and were told to wait at the reception area, meanwhile, the officer went to a back office. About 10-15 minutes later, she returned and told me we needed to come back another day, giving us an appointment for 2 days later.

We returned to the CPB office at our appointment time, greeted by the same officer, and she again took the passports and sealed envelope from my K2. The officer again went to a back office, but returned fairly quick with the passport stamp corrected, a printout with their I-94 visa status and obviously, retaining the sealed envelope they miss retrieving at POE. We were told everything was in order and were good to go. Once again, the officer reminded us we needed to get married within 90 days of my fiancée's arrival, (we had married since).

Other than the fact we needed to return a second time, the experience went flawless and pretty smooth.

You might have to petition for sole custody with the family court. You definitely need a lawyer for this. Being he's an unfit, irresponsible and selfish parent, you might have a chance of getting it granted. Talk to a family lawyer ASAP.

Actually, it depends on the country where the case will be filed. My fiancée has a friend in Ecuador that just went through the same and only took 2 and a half months from beginning to end. Definitely the process involves court costs, attorney's fees and whatnot, but sometimes it's the only course of action. I'm sure a good family cases lawyer can draw a good plan of action and give the OP a time frame. My 2 cents.

Yes, K-1 visas are NON-Immigrant, however, they have immigrant intent. It's also called a hybrid visa, the beneficiary comes as non-immigrant and then adjust status as immigrant with permanent residency.
