I do have an update. So, I did get a bit annoyed and I decided to contact the ombudsman on Tuesday, quite frankly I was half expecting the same response as I’ve had “your case is within normal processing times” and well, I did. However, they did say that they contacted USCIS on Wednesday and that was what they were told, on Thursday (yesterday) my case was assigned to an officer and I should wait to hear from them and today my case was approved. So within 3 days it took from nothing to approved. I should be thankful and I am but why should I have to go to such lengths. We lost a loan because my paperwork expired on Monday, I can’t renew my license, I work for a government contract and couldn’t provide adequate documentation (they extended it luckily), ROC just shouldn’t take 20+ months and we shouldn’t have to go to such lengths to get some movement going.
 
Besides, all said and done, I have it and I am grateful. I’ve been in this process for so long now I don’t know how to live outside of it 😂 10 years will come around quick enough again.

Congratulations! What a feeling, finally! Just in time for the furlough! 😅 Now you don't have to worry about that part at least, this particular process is over for you, the furlough won't affect that.

I applied end of November 2018, case received December 3, had bio done in July 2019 and yet to hear anything. Case status is still case received with no update, last “touched” 02/19/19. 412 days and counting.

I’m a little confused about how people are checking their case status online with talk of old and new websites. When I check my case I use egov.uscis.gov but when I go to the “new” site it just links me to the original case status page anyway. Am I missing something? 
‘My case hasn’t been touched since 02/19 and still says “case received”, I did my biometrics in July too.
 
What are people using for more accurate updates?

Finally something happened, I received my biometrics appointment today. No update on my case status though so it was unexpected.

My case status is still received, good to know! No movement on anything, no biometrics or interview, just stagnant.

How can this part of the process be so different for each of us, as in correspondence and information given? It’s ridiculous. I thought this bit would be the most straightforward!
They told me they’d already sent out my receipt notice, I still haven’t got it but I did receive my extension letter today so I guess that is my receipt. As long as I have this I’m happy knowing that I can travel back to visit my family.

I know. I don't know who to believe anymore. As my field office won't do anything then I suppose I have no option but to wait for my receipt notice.

Yep, yep n yep. She said not to worry about it because I will receive both my NOA and extension letter and to allow 90 days to receive it.
