Just an update to everyone. I was unable to check my case status online at what is now an old uscis website. I followed instructions posted on this site to check on the new uscis website and apparently my case was submitted dec 19th according to uscis even though my check was cashed dec 10th.

maybe the 19th is the date the vermont center got my app and dec 10th the dallas lockbox cashing the check.

Either way, i will reschedule my appointment closer to expiration date to give it time for extension letter to arrive

I don't think you need to reschedule, you can still go. They should give you a stamp.. 17 vs 19 is not a big difference

What I don’t understand and i hope you can clarify, is it a  uscis policy to schedule within 30days or not?

and are you saying to call now and schedule because other ppl have been able to schedule it before the 30day period for a passport stamp?

    thank you

Their policy technically is 30 days before GC expires but even when one went for infopass 60 days before GC expired (when you were able to schedule your infopass), they would do it (or give you hard time, depends on the person). Now, they are just giving hard time because they have the control over infopasses. Plus, one officer is more understanding than the other, so it is sort of a gamble who you talk to.

Sometimes, you just can't win with them and that is why I always advise to call back.

Call again and explain, that you would like to schedule an infopass appointment after 17th because you are due for a stamp and you need to show proof to your employer. I don't know the process now but ask them, and also sort of demand, because they should be able to provide assistance .

I spoke to a nice lady, she said exactly that. I have to wait 30days before my gc expires to schedule it.

I’m really lost here, they just wont schedule the appointment. It’s a shame they can’t produce one document/notice in 2months time.

I also submitted a request online for non delivery of receipt, no response yet.

Then wait until Jan 17th and call again :)

Haven't posted in forever but anyway, I'm back! Two weeks ago, in the same week I got a letter saying my i-751 case had been transferred (to MO) and a letter saying my N400 interview is scheduled for February 6th at my local field office! So confusing!

It looks like you will have a combo interview. You probably won't get a letter stating that but just bring your spouse to N-400 if your I-751 is not approved by then.

    Congrats on the N-400 interview!

Lol, since when? My last infopass was October for a(nother) stamp and it was still working then.

What could possibly go wrong leaving that to CS 🤨

Since this week, actually. At least what I know of is NY.

    & Everything.

    I will call again.

They might say you have to wait 30 days before your GC expires but don't listen to them and do your thing. They have no idea!

Not true, but they can be total morons about giving them. If there is a genuine need to have one then it generally isn't a problem, but the main issue is you are just another barcode to them. The majority simply don't care how much this impacts peoples lives in a negative manner.

    Welcome to USCIS.

You need to keep checking the infopass site, at odd times - midnight, 5am, 6am, 9am - especially on a monday morning -  until something appears. If you have to travel to a different area/city as that is the only appointment, then do so. Alternatively try a walk in once we hit february.

My honest advice would be to not bother with phoning them - many of them make it up on the spot, many are just plain wrong, and some lie.

The problem is, you can no longer even schedule an infopass on the site. The infopass scheduling was taken over by the CS at USCIS.

@asls -- Just keep calling until they give you an infopass. Tell them it is an EMERGENCY. If not, try getting a letter from the HR stating that you need a proof of status (addressed to USCIS , whatever it takes) and just try walking in at the time they open. Stay on top of this because honestly, the customer service people have no clue sometimes (well, majority of the time).

  7. 'My spouse and I both worked, but my spouse didn't have insurance from the company worked for, but I have from my job. I have life, vision, dental, and health insurance from my company, and I have added my spouse as the beneficiary for all these insurances.. I am going to submit this as a proof of bona fide marriage, but is this the same as joint insurance?'

Don't worry about whether it says joint or beneficiary. Just get a reference letter from the insurance company (call them up and ask to send it to you) showing that your spouse was beneficiary on your insurance. That is sufficient. You can add any bills/invoices to that as well.

  8. Call them again. They gave me a heart attack many times because they don't know what they're looking at and/or saying.

Tell them you need to obtain a stamp because you don't have proof of your status and your employer is asking for it. They make infopasses when there's an emergency and make it sound like a big emergency.

The whole USCIS doesn't allow to make infopasses on the website anymore, only through the phone.

Hello wise and experienced people. I need advice on whether or not to include a statement in our cover letter that explains our living situation. We live with and care for my elderly mother, at her request, and wonder if I need to include an explanation as to why we do not have a rental/lease agreement or utilities in our names. All utilities are in mom's name. Spouse doesn't have a US cell phone number. He just uses free Wi-fi connections and apps like Viber and Whatsapp to contact his family in France or when he needs to reach me. My cell bill is only me so we never changed it. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar situation and wrote a letter stating all that + signed by notary.

That's great! I'm happy for you, thanks for sharing. I will be very pleased to get over the finish line but I think I have a wait ahead of me... (combi filer). :) :):)

It's uplifting to see so many approvals recently. Hopefully good news coming for the rest of us soon.

Thank you! You will be done soon!

I don't think so. For my field office, Chicago, from the other fillers experiences, It takes 5-7 months from filling to get an interview. So, I am not expecting anything changed until April or May...

That's pretty quick! Trust me, applying for N-400 hasn't delayed anything. It can only be troublesome if you need to get your passport stamped a few times! :) At the end of this, you will receive your naturalization and that is what matters.

  11. Hi guys,

Just wanted to share good news and give back to you in some way -- I received my GC! You can check my timeline for further information. No RFE, No Interview (just some glitch transfers and notifications lol) and I haven't applied for N-400. This process took about 15 months! What a relief. Will be applying for N-400 soon. ❤️

Just want to let you know that this process will soon be over because it is the finish line, not the start line. :) Keep your heads up and don't stress!

    hi all

Did anyone get the naturalization interview while waiting for the removal of conditions??

Can you please share your experience?

Do I need to have my wife with me at the interview?

    Thanks so much :)

Not my experience, but mostly interviews in this case is joined I751+N400, so yes you better take your wife with you

Agree. You might not even get a notice that your interviews will be combined, you might only get 1 notice for N-400 interview. Unless you don't hear back from them that your i-751 case is approved, you have to ASSUME the N-400 will be combined with i-751, so take your spouse. :)

    Hi Guys,

my case was also transferred, have no idea where it was transferred too, but it was transferred yesterday. I'm tired of this process do not know if I should or shouldn't apply for N400. This whole thing is just draining, what amazes me is what justifies some people getting approved and other's transferred, like does that mean their cases are clearer than others??? just a poor system in my mind.

It depends on the adjudicating officer that has your file. It's been known that the workload has increased recently and they are trying to distribute the cases between service centers. You probably were transferred to Texas but keep an eye on the notice because it will tell you where it was transferred. October WACs have been transferred recently, so dont worry.

    Good evening

I am not on the list but here is my timeline:

    Date filed 10/19/2017 VSC

    NOA1 10/28/2017

    Transferred to TSC 11/23/2018

    Approved 01/03/2019

    No N400 extension or 551 stamp.EAC18024002**

I was in the process of arranging a 551 stamp as i was told back in November that another 18 month extension would be sent out before the expiration of my i751, but never received it. Guess now i don't need it, but will be starting the N400 very shortly as i want to be done with this process.

    Hey everyone.

On December 7th the USCIS transferred my case to a local office for an interview problem is it doesn’t say when the interview is gonna take place it only has the address of the local USCIS office and says that the office will reach out with an interview date.

two questions: what’s the timeframe till I get or expect a response?

Second question: how will the new office contact me? Email? Mail?

Im starting to get a little worried! Please if you guys have been through this enlighten me!

    Thanks in advance

Is your interview just I-751 or you applied for n400? what does your case status say exactly? just copy and paste and make sure you delete the case number, so that we can help you better.

Haven’t gotten my own snail mail since on the 21st that I got the same transfer notification but from what everyone here got, I think it’s going to be same content.

For those of us with estimated 22 months completed time for N400, I guess it’s a “go to sleep” wait for us :(

Sweet dreams! And it soon will be over, like every dream :) Stay positive

For some reason, I am under the impression that I must submit 2 copies of the I-751 packet.

Do I only need to submit one packet or two?

    6 hours ago, Laststop said:

All you need to submit is a completed copy with required documents and fee. However, make a copy OF EVERYTHING you include in your package. Keep it in a safe place!

You send 1 package with 1 form, 1 check and supporting evidence that are copies (no originals). I personally made a copy of the form and check for me to keep just in case, and I wrote down what + took pictures of what I included in the package. You of course can make a copy of the whole package for yourself. :)
