I'm Vermont center filed November 2017

April 9th 2018 case was received at my local service.

My question is if I apply n400 it will delay my case or not

It can go either way. Your ROC may be combined with N400, it may be not. Knowing the processing times for N400, your case could be approved before ,but some cases have been combined because the officer that was assigned your N400 case has the authority to make decision on ROC as well. If you don't care about having physical GC (because you might not get it) and your goal is to get naturalized, apply for N400 as soon as you can. You just have to get stamp in passport while N400 is pending if you don't get your GC before N400 is completed.

I just received this notification. What this means and what next ?

Case Transferred And New Office Has Jurisdiction

On November 5, 2018, your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC180230xxxx, was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by December 5, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

They probably transferred your case to speed up processing. California and Vermont have been swamped recently. Wait for the notice in the mail, it will indicate why and where it was moved.

    Did you submit N-400?

@AlluringSoul was pretty much on the money. I made an Infopass appt (they're super easy to get here in New Orleans. I had about 30 options to choose from last week alone). Weirdly, when I got there they automatically assumed I was there to get a stamp in my passport (both the screening officer and the one I sat down with) even though when I was there in August they told me that I didn't need to worry about that as long as I had the extension letter. They were both very nice and sympathetic once I explained what I was really there for. Told me to wait until I got the death certificate as I only had the coroner's death notification form (as a suicide it was automatically a coroner's case). At that point my lawyer should type up a  letter asking for a waiver and redo the first page of the i751 and note the changed marital status. If I get an interview they may ask for proof of relationship up to the moment of death so I'll try to find the last few sets of bills (he literally destroyed almost every piece of paper before he jumped). I had put a fair bit of proof in when we filed last October. They said I could wait until the interview (If I had one - he says they normally do have to do them for New Orleans cases cuz we're weird here) but that it was better to have the request on file from my lawyer.

He also stamped my passport so I now don't have to worry about the extension letter and extended that for another year (the letter was to run out in April).

One thing I did learn is that I'm not longer eligible for the i400 at 3 years. I have to wait the full 5 years.

    Thanks

    Tanya

I'm glad you were able to sort this out and got your passport stamped. It might take a little longer since they have to convert the application but you are on the right path :) Good luck and of course keep us updated on your journey ❤️

  4. It's a tracker app in the App store. You can search cases around your case and see how they are moving along with your application.

    Welcome HK,

Most of us are still waiting for approval, and I'm almost on the same page as you whereas my last status is from March 4th 2017 " Case was received at My Local Office".

Have you had biometrics done, and did you receive the 18 month extension letter?

For some reason, though I did have my biometrics on May 25th 2018 that doesn't appear on my check case status page... It's all a waiting game.

Yup, we are still here 😁

    Repost

Hello everyone hope you had a great weekend.

Anyone here who received the same update as mine especially from those who filed and got approved way before us last year? What does this mean? I didn’t change or update my name or whatsoever and it’s the first time that I got an update after the last update that we all received in February this year. I filed my I-751 August 30, 2017. Thanks and I do appreciate your replies.

On November 1, 2018, we updated your name for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC17334XXXXX.

If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

It looks like your case is moving. Keep an eye on it for the next 2 weeks see what happens. 🙂 You should be getting an approval soon!

    Hi everyone!

I just received two letters from USCIS in the mail today and i was hoping someone could shade some light on them (FYI I filed late August 2017, my case hadn’t had any updates since April ‘18 when it had supposedly been transfered to a local office - EAC17343XXXXX. I also never received an 18 months extension letter).

Both letters are exactly the same, titled “Transfer Notice” reading “we have completed a preliminary review of the application above bla-bla-bla we transferred your case to the TEXAS SERVICE CENTER [...]” except one has my original I751 receipt number EAC17343 but the other one has a new receipt number for case type “CRI89 - approved removal of conditions” EAC17247XXXXX

Why is there two cases/two receipt numbers all of a sudden? What does it mean?

You should have 2 case numbers, one from your biometrics letter and one from your official letter of CRI-89.

If you file for n400 with pending i751 then It’s becomes more likely that you would be called for both interviews i751 and n400 is that correct?i mean sometime i751 gets approved without USCIS calling you for the interview

It MAY happen that your applications get combined, because in order for your n400 to be approved, you need I-751 approved. The officer that has your ROC case may approve it before or send it to be combined since some officers can make a decision on n400 and i751 together. if your cases do get combined, you will be called for a combo interview where you bring your spouse -- i751 gets conducted first usually with your spouse (similar to AOS) and then your n400. Ive read where cases got combined but they didn't notify that your i751 interview will be happening and that you need to bring your spouse. You should come together for an interview regardless.

    Hope this helps.

He is at Vermont and his ROC August 11 2017, he called me this morning and said he saw something on the number started with EAC1713 said a new card but the other number 1-89 something like this still just case was received!   We applied together and we both got the same message about received in the local office!

Thanks for sharing with us!!! The other number is CRI-89 and doesn't really update. :)

Thank you all so much for your input.

I have good news. Called USCIS again just now; they have forwarded my case to Texas, accepted my fee and I should get a notice within the next 7 days.

Soooooo relieved and glad I decided to wait and not complicate the matters by sending a new application out! Phew, wiping the sweat from my brow!

My guess is that they allow for some time after a location change has been made for applications sent to a former location. I did read that was their policy in 2015 but couldn't get any information for the recent change.

    Thanks again 🙋‍♀️

See, sometimes being patient is all you need 🙂 Didnt need to cancel! :))

My friend filed on almost same time he got today an update saying a new card produce? is that mean he is approved? It looks like they are approving the cases randomly?

Yup, he's approved. Do you know which center? They are not so random, but yes, every case is different as they are assigned to different officers. One might be slow, whereas the other one might be more diligent with their work.

That’s inaccurate as we were approved last week. Additionally on my day, Aug 15 there are now 51 approvals with 23 RFE’s. Definitely working on it and still within the projected time frame 14.5-17 months. This means August filers technically have until January to be approved still within normal processing time.

Oh boy... A lot of approvals but the RFEs are almost the same number. I'm actually wondering, if people are really not submitting enough evidence or they are in fact trying to buy time? So sad.
