Just picked up my husband IR1 visa this morning at the visa support center here in São Paulo. I also paid online the USD 220.00 immigrant visa fee.
Cool thing is that for Brazil everything is electronic so no need to carry the sealed envelope to give to the immigration officer once landing in the USA.
Now working on booking our plane tickets!!!
Finally this long journey is over!
Wishing you all the best and thank you all for your support!
Congratulations same here mine interview was last week Tuesday. So glad it’s jver

Hello I had my interview yesterday 12:30pm-215pm some may had lunch at that time and started after 1pm.
They asked a lot of questions.
The questions they asked was the same questions they aske me the time I went to get a temporary visa since my mom in law was sick.
They same guy interviewed me.Every Embassy ask different questions basic on your past (traveled)
Embassy’s ask the same questions they ask everyone.how you meet
where you met
How long you have been married
When did you get married and so on y’all know the other questions.
Some Embassy will look at your past when you have travel and asked about it, specially if you was in college in the state. Some may not ask that.
The only thing I can tell you is to stop asking people from different country what questions they ask becuase they are not same Embassy you will attend.
Start asking people from your country and not other country.
As for me I normal look at the review from my country and see what questions was asked etc. not other country’s.Some may say to have an idea what they will asked. First of all we know what the important questions they will ask.
Try to keep in mind every Embassy is different.
thank you all for your help, this process have been the longest and hard time for me and my family. Started this process from 2016 to 2019 it was a lot going on and off and blah blah so on. That when some of us have lawyers and when some of them don’t know what they doing.
i had a lawyer for a reason not for laziness or not know what to do. It was a reason for me to have one. At some point I did finish the process with out them becuase all they do is mess things up. Dibbie, applerose ,Sundee, Lynni and so on I can keep them but will stop right there. was very helpfully thank You
Bottom long is we have to do one last paperwork which will be email to the Embassy today and my passport will be ready tomorrow.
thank you all and no I am not leaving the group am still here to help out.

Whoa that included the actual medical along with booster shots. What about using insurance?
cant use insurance , you have to pay upfront and then claim it later.

Gee that was a little more than mine even. Was any attempt made to get the shots at the local clinics? Good luck on the interview also shouldn't be any problems
its depend on which island you on? I paid like about $400 something without the shots

I’m so broken had my interview on the 13th June was last updated on ceac site on 18th , recieved a msg from the embassy to pick up my passport from DHL on 21st , got there yesterday only to see my passport had no visa .
I had had a very smooth interview, no documents were asked of me . I have sent them email . I already paid for my green card and flight ticket
was supposed to leave 1st July . Jesus! What possibly could be the issue at beyond broken!
I am sorry but you have to email the embassy and ask questions. telling them you brought your ticket and paid for your green card will not help.
that is awful and to find out everything was smooth, did they say you get approved?
you suppose to wait until you have your passport in hands. never pay for anything unless you have your passport back and everything is good.

I also believe they do want me to move back first as all documents I submitted show I have a permanent US address and tie of the US. I decided to buy one way tickets for mid of Aug and move back first with my son. Will send all additional documents including the flight tickets to the Consulate and hopefully they will approve my husband before we leave. It's really hard to believe we may have to separate for a period of time...
One more question...do you know if the CO denies this round of extra document submission, will they deny the whole petition or will they give us another chance to submit more documents?
why wait til Aug to move back when you can try go back in July instead Aug? when Aug may be the change with him moving to the US.
plus you will have to looking for job all over again and who knows they might want make sure you keep your job for a period of time. I am just saying and thinking.
I don't know if they CO will or may ask for more documents. its really up to CO. I cant answer that but am just saying.
I hope everything work out for the best.
if I was you I was leaving next week so I can hurry get a job and start from there.
some people had to leave their kid or children and then go back for them after the process. I know it's hard going without him. but you have to do what is best for all of you.

Hi folks,
I have been silent for a while as I was just waiting for my husband’s interview which is today. You know what?! We are put as AP!!! The first sentence that the CO talked to my husband was “I will not approve your visa today”. I can’t imagine how shocked my husband was when he heard this.
The reason is the CO thinks I have not enough proofs of US domicile. He said this IR-1 is for family reunion but I have already stayed with my husband in his home country for 10 years. The CO needs us to submit more proofs that I will move back to the US.
Here are the proofs of my US domicile that we have submitted in the NVC stage and to the CO:
1. US driver license with my US residental address
2. US credit card statement (I have been actively used)
3. US savings bank statement (I have put money in it regularly)
4. Active voter registration
5. Quotation from shipping company for moving
6. One way flight quotation from travel agent
7. Job resignation letter of my husband
8. Tax return 1040 of past 5 years
9. Tax transcripts of past 3 years
Now we are trying to gather as much proofs as possible. I need you VJ members to help for brainstorming. Here are some proofs I can think of:
1. Letter from my parents and brother stating we will live with them.
2. Since we will live in my parents’ house, can we make a lease agreement with my parents?
3. Add my name on the utility bills of my parents’ house.
4. Add my name on the car insurance of my dad.
5. Online register my son to preschool
6. Buy one way flight ticket for my son and myself
I don’t want to move back without my husband so I hope to find some proofs that I can get ASAP.
Please help...TIA
I hoep they do approved him but it look like they want proved you return back home that is all I can think off. now the ones you have I am not sure it will work because anyone can add you name on them stuffs and you still living oversea.
