shipm662 reacted to stephcee in Department of State posted about K1 visa - what does this mean?
This is from the Montreal Consulate Twitter. They said before they weren't being processed but now they are. So I believe for those consulates that are open this is good news.

shipm662 got a reaction from Gleesonfamily in Processing Times (I-751/I-751A) for Nebraska Service Center (LIN-xxxxxxx)
I had a naturalization only interview.

It was not a combination interview.

In fact the officer said he had to wait for the removal of conditions petition to be decided before anything could move forward.

They told me to expect reaults in about a month.

I checked the other LIN case numbers for lifting conditios near mine. Their status has not changed.

I believe the naturalization process caused them to review the case and make a decision faster than they would have otherwise.

My wife and step son arrived here last Monday and I have been so busy visiting family and working I haven't had a chance to post here until now. I wanted to thank everyone on this forum who helped us through the immigration process.  I wouldn't have been able to do this without your help every step of the way. For those of you starting your journey who are considering hiring an attorney do yourself a favor and save your money and do it yourself with the help of the great people here at visajourney.

My wife and step son are adjusting to life here quicker and better than I expected. It helps that we are having a February heat wave here in Wisconsin.  Even so my wife occasionally complains that she Is cold. Other than that everything is going great. Thank you again to everyone here and I hope in the future I can help some people out.

Well, if I could I'd go back to live in my country. I never had this big "american dream" and never wanted to move here. My husband is the only reason why I'm here and I know he can't just drop everything and move with me to the other country. Trust me, I don't think US is that amazing. But since I first came here I was planning to have my parents with me and I've talked with them a lot about it. So yeah, having that option potentially taken away is not very fair. Trump talked a lot about fighting the illegal immigrants, but not it just looks like he doesn't give a about people who wants to come here legally. You'd expect more from someone who married an immigrant, really.

    Hey all!

Some of you may have seen my post earlier in the week regarding our upcoming AOS interview. You can check it out here:
Anyway, we had our interview yesterday, and I wanted to share me and my husband's experience for anyone else who has an AOS interview coming up.

I'll start at the beginning of our day when we woke up at about 3 a.m., and hit the road by 4. We had our interview at the Chicago field office, and it is about 3 hours away on a good day without traffic. Our interview was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and we arrived by about 8 a.m., so we decided to chill in the parking lot for an hour and prep ourselves.

We entered the building at 9, hit security, checked in and waited until about 9:35 when our number was called. There were probably about 30 other people in the room waiting with us.

We were called by the nicest IO we could probably ask for (and young too!). She escorted us into her office where she had a trainee with her, and put us under oath.

The first thing she did was take my ID and his passport, and verify information on our I-485. She verified my employment and my job title, our address, and finally all the "yes-no" questions. She then asked my husband when his first day in the US was, and if he has ever left the country since. Afterward, she asked the both of us to give a brief overview of our relationship and how we got to this point (all the while, she was taking notes in our file).

Then the IO asked to see some documentation that supports our marriage, and this is where we went a little overboard! I pulled out a stack of about 18 bank statements and asked her how many she needed (she said 2), then we gave her our car insurance card and my husband's vision, dental and life insurance policy information from his job. I had told her that we really don't have anything that arrives at our address with both our names on it because my name is on the lease and all the utilities, so she asked if my husband had any mail at all that was addressed to him specifically. Thankfully I thought to bring some pieces of mail with his name on them.

At that point, she said that is all she needs, and that our case is approved as of that moment! WOO HOO! By the time we got home from Chicago, I checked our case status, and it was updated to "approved"!

In the end, this was literally the most stressful couple weeks of my life, and I was WAY more stressed than my husband, even though he's the one getting the green card  We had tons more bona fides than we needed, but I'm still happy that we came with as much paperwork and proof as we did—because you never really know how your own personal experience will be until it happens. So, for now, we get a couple years of normalcy until we start the whole process over again. In the meantime, we get to breathe easy, and I wish all of you with an AOS coming up, the best of luck! Just make sure you're overly prepared!!!

I struggled to understand this part of the process when I went through it.
I did NOT have another medical exam, because I had just had one & everything was completed properly.

Form I-693 Instructions: page 5 of 9 Section III Frequently Asked Questions 3. What if I am a K non-immigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas? If you were admitted as a: K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a b.K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and c.You received a medical examination prior to admission, then: (1)You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver. (2)Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

When filling out my forms I did the following for the 'medical portion':
Cover page for this section reads:

Form DS-3025/Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (1 page)

Second page of this section, included this statement:

*See attachment for copy of Form DS-3025*
    Vaccination Documentaion Worksheet (Form DS-3025)
    from Panel Physician

Per instructions for I-693, the form is not required as a medial exam for K1-Visa
was completed within the last year

Medical Examination for issuance of non-immigrant fiance K1-Visa
    completed MM/DD/YYYY

Third page is a copy of:
Vaccination Documentaion Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from Panel Physician

    Hope this helps you.

Save your money. Follow these directions.
You do not need the medical exam tests repeated. If your medical was done within a year of filing for AOS (which your's has), that is all you need. No exam or partial tests to do.
    You can use the I-693 instructions, Page 5 #3 > http://www.uscis.gov...QA-11-13-12.pdf

Of note, all 6 couples remain happily married.
The Amcit husbands remain enraged at our treatment back then.
Everyone who's dealing with that place now can be thankful that things have apparently largely settled down.

Here are some basic reasons for the large number of couples.
    1. Shared language. English is an official language of the Philippines.
    2. Shared religion: Catholicism.
    3. The Philippines used to be colony of the US.
    4. Large US military bases used to be there. Most military personnel are male.
    5. Exchange rate.
Lots of other reasons, but just wanted to give you a few facts.

I don't know about anybody else but I married my Filipino wife because I love her! I never thought about ease of visas or expediting a visa or if the embassy was easier in one country or another. I really was impressed with the culture of the Philippines and how family is so important there and the feminine qualities that you find in Filipinas that is missing in a lot of American women now. Me and my wife have a great relationship and life together and I couldn't be happier. Since the OP asked the question why Americans marry girls from the Philippines then I ask why do Americans marry males or females from Tunisia? That question could be asked of all of us regarding countries of our significant others. I think each one of us would have a unique answer specific to their lives but one common answer no matter what country is that this is the person you love so really it doesn't matter what country or part of the world they are from.

I personally would not have signed my I-134 and became a sponsor if I was not prepared to fulfill what I think it says.
A couple of things to think about. Rhetorical questions. No need to answer.
    1. Do you trust google for legal advise? How far do you trust it?
    2. The difference between what is said and what is legal.
    3. The difference between what is currently enforced and what could be enforced.
    4. There are a variety of possible plantiff's that could try in court to get something from the beneficiary.

Part of the K1 process is that the embassy MAY ask for a i-134.
Only you (OP) knows if this was submitted.
    Read page1: item 4, 5, and 6.
It states that the petitioner (US Citizen) is responsible for the beneficiary during his or her stay in the US.

I didn't know congress even ruled in on this issue.
Immigration is such a complex mix of things. Part of it is legal. Part of it is administrative. Some portions are strictly enforced. Some portions are ignored. Some portions are subjective.
That is why a site like this is so important to try and make sense of it all.

A country needs to have a USCIS field office within a US embassy in order for DCF to be on the table. You can see a list of such offices here: http://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/international-immigration-offices
As you can see, there is no office in Australia, thus no DCF.

I listed it as a possible expense as part of the visa process.
There are quite a few folks on this site who have paid additional fees to civil surgeons in regards to vaccines as part of the visa process.
