For our high fraud countries ,  the K1 is not really any faster than doing the CR1 / it can take just as long
except that if you have met already and did not marry (or have an engagement party that looks like a marriage ceremony ),  you can apply for K1 now
If you have already had this engagement party (Nigeria usually considers that as marriage saying "too married for a K1)  Refer to the embassy portal for many many posts on  this subject
If you are trying to decide to do CR1 ,  are you already married ?  There is no decision here if married,  you have to do CR1
as a USC (also from a high fraud African cosulate) who went thru a  denied K1 and had to do CR1,  I would say marry and do the spouse
But you need GOOD QUALITY TIME together
not short 10 day or 2 weeks visits but enough time to get to know each other (as determined by the embassy)
    many reasons to do CR1
    1.  ends up being the cheapest way to go
    2.  many k1's are denied and you have to continue with marriage
    3.  immigration applies for the SS number if you mark the spot on ds 260 for them to do it
    4.  immigrant can work immediately upon arrival in US
one of our members will point out the differences between the 2 clearly showing the benefits of CR1

Maybe she will have a change of heart next year and try one more time. And who knows, she may get approved next time.

    Best of luck to you

Yep. Just like we predicted. We mentioned in the other thread of yours that applicants bring letters of invitation and "sponsorship" papers to the interview and the officer don't even look at anything.
This is why we saying that going there will make even less of a difference. Most visitor visa interviews last a few minutes. But it is ultimately your decision.

You *may* be allowed inside the building, but you'll likely not be allowed to sit with her during the interview itself, if that's what you were hoping.
Your presence there won't make any difference either way....she's approved or denied on her own merits.

There is no petitioner for B visas.

Assuming your sister is unmarried, will be faster for your parents to sponsor her once they have their green cards. Timeline for them to do it (if she is over 21) is approx 7 years, if you do it is it is closer to 15.

Slight disagreement with Roel, as we have heard a few times sponsors being asked about covering costs of healthcare for the immigrants they are sponsoring - i think all the ones i have seen have been for parents

She can ask for a interpreter as soon as she gets to the first window. But you would be surprised that some COs can speak Tagalog pretty good.

My husband does not meet the poverty guideline so we are having his Dad our Joint Sponsor. I heard that using I-864ez are for those petitioner who has enough income to meet the poverty guideline and doesn't need a joint sponsor. Thanks for the respond.

Called NVC today & told them until now can't pull the DS 260 online, We waited for 10 days before, & now they r telling us to wait for 2 weeks to get it done! Why is it so hard for them to understand that we want to be with our partners ASAP.. That's why we are working diligently with our paperwork, but they are not doing their part.. I am just so tired!!
