Im from Colombia, I have a 5 months old daughter, my husband is in the military and he isn’t allowed to come to Colombia, is there a quicker way for me to get the states besides the IR-1/CR-1
I found this about the K-3/K-4 but they say that due to the IR-1/CR-1 being processed faster now that it might not make it any faster. But you could check into it. Good luck whichever way you choose.

@CB & FM Hey! I never did go to get the passport stamp. I still don't have my renewed (10 year) green card and am just waiting for that. I don't have any physical card as of yet as USCIS has it.
I decided not to go to get the stamp as A) I HATE the immigration centers B) I feel like my case is weird with all the incorrect card, denial of a correction and now a renewal. It sounds horrible to try and explain all of this to an officer.
I'm just waiting it out and hoping I receive it by fall so I can fly back home and see my folks. Please let me know if you decide to get a passport stamp. My husband really wants me to but i'm unsure about it.
All the best,
Maddie
Hey Maddie,
Last year when this whole error thing happened, we had a planned trip to Canada. So we decided to get my husband an I-551 stamp to show he was still in status as LPR, as his cond. GC showed wrong expiration date of Jul 2017. Canada requires visa for Brazil which is his native country but not for US LPR. We had a difficult time getting an infopass appt. here in NYC as always the slots were fiiled. One day I happened to try to check shortly after midnight and found open slots...one left in NYC...but before I could secure it, it was taken. ONe other office which showed as near us still had slots so we secured one of those. When we arrived there it was a fast process, could not even fill the paperwork out completely before being called to speak to officer. We were told that normally we would be referred back to NYC as it is our local, the other office being out of our jurisdiction, but due to the need to have the stamp immediately for our upcoming travel, they processed us that time. We were in and out in under an half hour although it was an hour long drive there and back.
On our trip, although he had to present himself on the ship, it was a cruise, to the Canadian authorities which he would not have had to do had his GC been correct and not expired, it worked for travel with no problems. Coming back in to the US was no problem at all. They looked at the stamp and passed him right through.
I suggest you get it done when you can so you can travel with out too much trouble. I hope your local office is not a busy one. We will have to redo the stamp come this Oct when it expires. Then we will have to do it in NYC which could be a bit more slow as it is a busy office compared to the Long Island office where we did it last year. I will have to make sure that when we need the appt. I am ready right at midnight to be able to get an infopass at NYC.
Good luck,
Carson

@mrs.stinkleberry Did you get the I-551 stamp? And have you traveled with it and the letter?
My husband is in a similar position. His conditional GC had the wrong dates on it also...expiring 11 months sooner than his 2 yr aniversary of his AOS approval date. We filed his ROC based on those dates on got it returned with a letter explaining the mistake and instructions to file an I-90 and refile the ROC according to the correct date which was this Jun 2018. He also has not received the corrected GC but still has the old incorrectly dated card. We are not sure what would happen if he traveled with it and the extension letter, now of 18 months, because they might calculoate the 18 months from the date on the card, Jul 2017, rather than the correct date Jun 2018 which could cause difficulty.

GC Expires: 07/08
I751 sent via FedEX on June 17th
I751 received: June 19th signed by K Moya at CSC
I am hoping that they would process the NOA by 07/08. Checking my bank account online three times everyday for any signs of the Government cashing it in.
The received date is more important than the NOA date in regards to GC expiration. So even if your NOA date is after 7/8 and they mark the petition received 19 Jun, you will be within the correct time frame. Hope this helps relieve some stress. We all tend to stress a lot in these processes. Good luck and be well.

We sent ours to VSC on Jun 2 and marked received 5 Jun with NOA date of 15 Jun. My husband's GC expired 6 or 7 Jun. That's cutting it close.

Hi everyone!
I am new to filing i-751 papers....my GC expires on Aug 6th and I will be mailing out my application with evidence today to CSC.
I have seen other members having a packet with a ton load of evidence but mine is approx 1" thick. Hopefully all is well and the NOA is received timely.
As long as you include all the required documents you file will be accepted. But as to amount of documentation, more is just a way to insure one does not receive an RFE for more. I beleive that if you send in a variety of types and they cover the whole period from the AOS to now, it should suffice. Mine was about two inches thick.

Joining this thread, as we mailed our I-751 packet on 06/13, to CSC. Here we go... I'm guessing we'll end up trying to file for citizenship before this gets completed. I'll follow the thread posted earlier to see others' experiences on that. Good luck, everyone!

Hi everyone! Just mailed our I-751 packet yesterday to VSC, as we're in the process of relocating to New York. Did the address change online but still hoping nothing gets lost in the shuffle, and for a speedy NOA1. Then the real wait begins. Best of luck to all!
Aren't you lucky to be moving to an address serviced by the now current faster service center? Hope this is a portent of good things for you in the future.

We came to the same conclusion. Simply put, the N400 clock is a separate clock, so why wait for the I751 clock to run out before starting the N400 clock? Let them run concurrently and get to the end sooner. In our case I think it shaved 8-9 months off our overall time to naturalization, but my wife seemed to hit a sweet spot with the Detroit office when she filed her N400, it processed way faster than we ever expected and well within the posted processing times. It seems things have slowed down there a bit now.
Yep. Hopefully by the time we get to my husband's eligibility to fill 400 next March, they will have gotten faster again.
-
I have been reading this post these past few days. We just filed for my husband's ROC on 4 Jun at VSC. I wanted to research the possibility of the process shortening due to filing I-400 while I-751 was pending. I have come to the conclusion that it is beneficial to do so. I know that many here have waited long times but I believe that to wait for the I-751 to finish before filing the I-400 has a combined longer time then the time that will transpire as both applications are being reviewed together in the final months of the 751 process. Thus the 400 process overlaps the 751 and you finish much sooner overall. So we will file his N-400 in mid March 2019 when he is 3 months from the 3 year mark.
@Zombie69 I am so sorry for your loss and very happy at your outcome. Even though I knew early in your posts because of your updated profile of the outcome, I was still touched by your story. I was excited finally to read that you had gotten your citizenship. Everyone should get much support by reading your story to know that things can and do come out.
The big thing that I got from these past days is that you must strive to have patience in the face of frustrations and perseverance will win in the end. Good luck to all still waiting. And to all that will begin this stage, have hope and don't lose sight of the prize at the end of the struggle.

I don’t know why... I’ve always been CSC in both states I have lived. So I don’t know what feels like to be VSC. I’m not really sure about the citizenship just yet.. I’ll keep following and researching through the next months and see what will be the best thing to do!
In regards to the combo filing of 751 and 400, here is a link to a forum on VJ that I have been reading.
Hope it helps your research!

So guys today i received emaiL that my (passport is ready for pickup)

Hopefully i will pick passport tomorrow and off to U.S on this weekend😂
Secondly how to pay greencard fees before going ?
After NVC
Medical
After you have the interview letter, you can schedule a medical.
- Note: there are a few countries (like the Philippines, for example) that allow advance medicals (ie: you can get the medical done as soon as you have the first piece of correspondence from NVC, instead of waiting for an interview date to be assigned). Check with your panel physician to see if they're one of the few.
From NVC's website, you can find a list of FAQ on the medical here [25].
You can also find country-specific medical information here [26] (choose the three letter consulate/embassy code from the drop-down).
InterviewYou can find country-specific interview information at NVC's website here [27] (choose the three letter consulate/embassy code from the drop-down).
For an extensive list of possible interview questions, read this wiki here [28].
For ideas on proof of relationship evidence to bring to the interview, read this ENTIRE thread here [29] (don't just read the first page!).
And you can also get some good ideas on how to organize everything for the interview if you read this thread here [30].
POEAfter you get approved at the interview, there is one more fee to pay. It's for the actual green card and the current cost is $165. You'll receive a letter about this at the interview, which you can read in advance here [31]. This fee can either be paid before or after POE, but it's recommended to do it before, so as not to cause any delays.
It may also be possible to get a tracking number for the green card. Follow VJ member Darnell's advice:
"Call USCIS, get a human, ask for the TRACKING NUMBER on the green card. Yes, such a thing exists, and they will give it to you when asked. Then call USPS and inquire for status. In the end, if USPS sent it back to USCIS, you'll need to call USCIS again, talk with an ISO about 'returned mail pieces', go over your address again on the telephone, and ask to have all returned mail pieces sent back to you."
Here above is what I found regarding your question about green card fee. Take note expecially of above line with (31). This is a link to the letter about which it talks. Hope this helps.

Are you guys both VCS?
By the way, how is that a few of the southeast states are sent to California while others to VSC? I hope both centers will continue to pick up the pace and process faster.
Do you plan to apply for citizenship at the 3 year mark? Or will you wait until this 751 is finished? We plan to send the I-400 next March which will be 3 month before our 3yr mark. I am researching through posts to see how many feel it faster vs. how many slower. There are many different opinions when it comes to this subject.

I added to this post last year but my process was stopped due to an error by USCIS in dating the orginal green card. All that aside, we resubmitted according to the proper dates this June 2018 and I wanted to add my experience with the fee waiver. It seems to have gone very smooth. We sent I-751 on 2 June, delivered 4 Jun, marked received 5 Jun and NOA date 15 Jun with fee waived. So if you meet the eligibility for the fee waiver send it.

Hi guys,
VSC is picking up the pace.
I got my NOA today, dated 6/13 (received by USCIS 6/5; cash checked 6/15) - 18 month extension
Congrats!!!! We got ours today too!!! Dated 15 June.
-
By the way, the notice is now an 18 month extension.
-
Received our NOA today for our ROC. Hoping we are in a good loop this time. The notice is dated 15 June with a received date of 5 June...only 10 days. We even added a request for fee waiver which was approved. We are hopeful this is a good sign to a smooth ROC. By the way, the notice is now an 18 month extension.
-
We received our NOA1 today. We sent our package on 2 Jun 2018. It was marked delivered by USPS on 4 Jun 2018. The NOA shows received 5 Jun 2018 and notice date of 15 Jun 2018. This is quick and surprising compared to others" posts. Also we applied for a fee waiver with this application which usually takes some extra time according to posts I have read. I am hopeful that this could be a good sign for us. I hope all continues well for all of us in this process.
