Hi Folks,
I am a late June filer. I just got a snail mail that my case has gotten transferred to Potomac. This seems like good news because looking at the spreadsheet it seems like GC gets approved between 1 - 1.5 months.
Given this, should I just want to file for naturalization (N-400)? I am eligible to file for N-400 but it's not clear if just waiting for the 10 year GC will make filing it easier or should I get started in parallel. Are June filers going through this conundrum?

My husband was going to file N-400 this past month also but got transferred to Potomac and we decided to wait until after this possible impending approval thinking filing N-400 might cause another transfer to local office for dual interview and possible longer timing on ROC.

Anyone have experience with how long a replacement card takes?
We had an issue with my husband's card. It had the wrong since date too. It caused us to apply for ROC too soon. They told us that the date was wrong and to apply for replacement. At that time it was taking 12 to 14 months. By the time they reviewed it and made a decision, the correct date for ROC had come and they denied the correction as it would have been an expired card anyway. I believe the 12 - 14 months is still the current processing time but at least your card is not expired like my husband's card was.

you're welcome. You are not alone; mine case got transferred yesterday.

Well, I just received the letter from Uscis, and my case was transferred to YSC Potomac. I guess like some people say; it means that the case has been touched.....
Prystine's case was transferred to Potomac also. Her was approved without interview within one month. Hope this will be the same for us all.

I use the first 6 digits then add 4 random number after that to track update on the Case Tracker app.
Ex. my number is EAC181935**** if you take that number and add 4 random let say EAC1819351200 then I can track case around my number up to 500 on case tracker app.
Hope that explains it. I'm horrible at explaining.
Thanks, our case was transferred too, 181805, on 3 May and again on 7 May but I think this might really be the same event. Our history shows both notifications.

It's called Case tracker. Available for IOS and Android I believe. You can use it to check case up to 500.,
@Beddy2015 I cannot find the specific Case Tracker app. I found one called VIsa Tracker, is this it? Who is the developer of the app, Case Tracker? It will help me see if the iOS app name is different then the Android, perhaps.

Ok thanks. Can you share the first 6 digits if it's not a problem so I can check on tracking app to see if other cases have been transferred as well?
@Beddy2015 Hey Beddy2015, what is the info on the first 6 digits or any of the digits of the number? What kind of information do we garner from these numbers? Can you explain the significance? Thanks in advance!!!

Hey CB & FM,
We received the hard copy in the mail on 3/21/19 so almost a week after we got the electronic notice from the my.uscis.gov site. And yes, they list the office they transfer it to on the hard copy, they don't put that info. in the electronic notice so that is when we found out which office it was transferred to.
(side note: our case never worked on the old egov website, only ever showed up on the new dhs one)
Wow. That side note issue is the opposite for me. I got my notice from egov but the my.uscis is still showing the same status of fee waived...the last thing done previously on our case. And I just noticed that the recieved date is different...one shows 5 June, which is right, the other shows 15 Jun, which I believe is the date of the fee being waived. Go figure. Hopefully they will get down to one site soon that actually works consistantly.
-
Anybody else on both USCIS sites and receive different updating information?
-
Recieved the transferred case to new office notice this past Friday, 3 May. Hope this helps to speed our case on to completion.
@Prystine How long after your online update did you recieve the notice in the mail? And was it only then that you knew the identity of the new office that had jurisdiction?
Interestingly, it updated on only one of the online sites. On egov.uscis.gov, we got the online update but on my.uscis.gov, it is still showing the previous status from before.

I just couldn't help but notice that Vermont center filers were moving along fairly fast when all the California center filers were stuck in the mud.....now, we have an approval from a California center filer but I only hear crickets with those Vermont center filers......it's the strangest thing!
I'm just giving you guys flack....approvals are upcoming for all soon!!
My sentiments exactly!!!! Hehe!

Hello y'all!
Considering we have all been in marriage for 3+ years, is anyone planning on applying for citizenship before 2nd GC arrives?
Do you guys have any details how that exactly works in situations like this?
Cheers! On 3/30/2019 at 8:54 AM, pearla said:Your citizenship application is processed at your local office.
When you apply for citizenship while you have a pending I-751 your local office will request your I-751 file for combo processing.
You have then essentially lost your place in queue for the I-751 processing and gained a new place at the end of the citizenship process queue at your local office.
Now, depending on how long it takes to process citizenship applications at your local office this might speed up or slow down your timeline.
For example... El Paso, TX office processes citizenship applications in 4-6 months (going by experiences of other people here on the forum) if someone had 8-10 months left on their estimated I-751 process and applies for citizenship at the office they will speed up things for themselves. However, in offices like Houston & LA you would have reset your timeline to 1 year+
I hope that makes sense.
Most people prefer to have a green card in hand (piece of mind and assurance) before starting a new process.
On 3/30/2019 at 8:57 AM, aleksabl said:Thank you for a such detailed reply!
Yes, that makes sense and it seems like better idea to wait for a GC and then apply.
Thanks again! While I agree that is true that it could speed or slow the process, I feel that if your ultimate goal is Citizenship why not consider filing while waiting at least the wait will be concurrent rather than consecutive, getting you to Citizenship sooner. If you choose to wait it will be that much longer a wait for the next process and considering how much time we have already waited on this and our previous processes, why not take the advantage of a concurrent wait. My husband is planning on filing his Citizenship this week or next. He was waiting to have the necessary funds. We will try for a fee waiver again but wanted to have the funds available, in hold, just in case. We are short on income right now with me being on disability so a fee waiver would be helpful and the money could then go for getting rid of more debt. Hoping to be co-Citizens with zero debt. Debt is not a good thing in today's economics.

Original biometrics for 8/1/18; had to reschedule it three times as we were out of the country. Ultimately did an early walk-in at NYC office with no problems.

Hello, good evening, a question in the form i751. In part 7 page 6, is my name and my cell phone number and email? in the other part 7 page 7 on the left side is my name and date? part 8 page 7 goes my husband's phone number and mail, Part 8 page 8 my husband must put his name and then sign and date .. sorry I just want to confirm, I'm doing it right now, the example here is old and had that doubt .. Thanks
Yes, all your thoughts are correct. You are signing in Part 7 and your husband in Part 8.

Hey guys! My husband called today and supposedly our NOA is in the mail! They didn’t give us a receipt number though... said we would have to wait to get the letter and that they couldn’t give him that information over the phone since the letter had already been sent. They also couldn’t say anything about our i912 besides @well I don’t see any hiccups on the account, everything seems normal...” whatever that means haha!
Glad to hear you will get an answer soon. Sounds like everything went well. Congrats. Now if @Marrienne gets her answer we three will have crossed a barrier and on to the next one.

Hello,
sorry maybe i was unclear in my first message but i did NOT apply for a fee waiver. I saw that they processed my checks a couple of weeks after they received the application and sent me the GC extension letter so i dont think you and i are in the same situation. But i hope you hear back soon!
This reply was not directed at you but to the two people I tagged, Cheyenne5044 and Marienne. I am sorry that you got confused about my reply to them.

@Cheyenne5044 and @Marrienne,
I too applied for the fee waiver and got it fairly quick. I receive an income based benefit of food stamps and medicaid which I used as the basis for the fee waiver. I filed in Vermont which is different for you. I know from my research of others that filed with fee waiver that it can take sometimes a minimum of 30 days to be approved and a response sent. I know that California is backlogged so this can be the reason of no response to you so far. I hope that you hear soon and your process continues. Just be aware that the delay in response does not change your receive date. Good luck.

I don't even have a receipt number, and when I called USCIS to get it, they said I need to wait 60 days for an answer. I might be brave enough and call back soon and ask to talk to a tier 2.

I am sure from what you said that all should go well. It is probably just the CSC slowness that is causing you delay. Others in your group have been waiting about three to four weeks for their NOA1 and with your fee waiver that may cause some extra time. I hope you get word soon.

Just spoke with USCIS again (with my husband, who the I751 is for), and was told that I need to wait 60 days before calling them. They couldnt even tell me if simply they had received it or not. I know my frustration is mainly out of anxiousness to see if the Fee Waiver is granted, but I cant help but feeling like I am the only one that its taking this long for.
May I ask, for what was the fee waiver based on. I got the fee waiver but ours was based on a low income based program like Medicaid or SNAP. I know that others have heard after a bit more than 30 days due to what they believe was the fee waiver. I was lucky or submitted very good documentation that was easy to make a decision about the fee waiver. I do not know your situation but I hope it comes through for you. I know some people have had some troubles but once they sent in better documentation the waiver was accepted and all went on as it should. Others have had no problems like me and the fee waiver was accepted. Be assured though that if there is a problem with the waiver it does not change your receipt date for the I-751. It will still be the day that they received your application packet. I know this because last year they returned my husband's I-751 after they realized that his GC dates were incorrect but the application had been stamped received with a date.

Got biometric appointment letter for 27th of this month in the mail yesterday. Has any one tried rescheduling it ? It's early in the morning and I want to go in the evening after work!
Try a walk in but be aware of the hours. Just take your documents with you and arrive sufficiently before the closing time and see if you can get in. Do this on some day before your scheduled day, that way if they deny the walkin you can still keep your appointment. I have not heard of anybody getting a specific time for their change, just different days.

Congrats to you. Unfortunately not all of us are done yet but hopefully getting closer. My husband's case is still pending the ROC and we recently were transferred as were others in our June 2018 group so we put on hold his N-400 filing thinking a decision on ROC would be soon like it was happening for many others in our group. Hopefully an answer soon and then on to the finish with N-400.
