Today was my interview in the Tampa office, quick and easy and the officer said I’ve passed and that he’ll be recommending me for approval and that I should get my letter for the oath ceremony in the next 30 days!!! It feels good to finally be done with this immigration journey

good luck to Those still waiting

So this just happened ...I’m one of those that check maybe 3-5 times a day and I’m 100% sure it hadn’t changed before 2-3pm so even tho it has date from yesterday the system didn’t update immediately. (Didn’t get mobile or email notification either although I have those options on)

CSC for me, was never transferred to any of the other service centers ...my original “we received your case” date is March 27 2017

I find that type of message extra duper unnecessary ...like they really think we need them to tell us there’s no update as if we are not checking the status on these many websites every 5 minutes lol

I know for a fact DHS is updating everything more accurately than the regular site because a close friend of mine is adjusting status and he opened a DHS account and added his case numbers, 3 days ago DHS updated his work permit to approved and card mailed while the other website still says they received their case and that’s it

so it just occurred to me that I never told you guys how my mom's I-751 process went (and why im not freaking out about me not getting my 10 year green card yet...csc filer here) so here it it.

she lives in New York and filed June 2015  which means her application went to VSC when they were the backed up ones ...as for evidence they didn't have much, only an apt lease, medical insurance, checking account, electric and cellphone bill and taxes, they didn't have that many pictures, don't own a car or any other property, don't have credit cards together  because he's actually trying to get out of all the debt his past marriage left him with and thats pretty much it.

a year passed by and nothing, I was always on top of her case and kept checking, they called and talked to tier 2 at one point and they just told them they needed to keep waiting (shocker), at around the 15th month mark they got a RFE asking them for more recent evidence and listed all the things they had already sent, my mom consulted with a lawyer and he said they sometimes do this when theres been more than a year and they want to see more updated evidence so they pretty much sent back the same things (just the most recent ones) and added some affidavits from friends and a copy of an itinerary of an upcoming trip they had planned.

around mid January 2017 (19th month mark) they got notice for interview for march 2nd 2017 and they freaked out but I tried to find stories here to make them feel better. they took all the evidence that they already had and went to the interview ...the officer was really nice according to them and pretty much asked them a few questions about their dates and their family, she seemed pretty interested in knowing how much they both knew about each other kids and in my moms case grandkids (I already have 2 kids) so our guess is that since there wasn't "much evidence" they wanted to see if the relationship was real? idk to be honest because their interview when she adjusted status was easier than the one for lifting condition but anyway  the officer approved her on the spot and even gave her her passport stamp in case her green card didn't come in time for her trip (she already had an infoPass for that but didn't have to go thanks to the officer stamping her passport there) and then her green card came in the mail about a month later.

so I hope this helps to have a little reference on how things can go ...im not saying this will apply to everybody that sent little evidence cause you know with uscis you never know but yeah thats all.

good luck to all of us still waiting ...and lets pray together for the patience needed for this process lol

2 options come to mind, stay in the US long enought to naturalise, that would guarantee her access no matter how long she was gone, or surrender her GC and apply for a Visitor Visa.

Sounds like the first would be the best fit.

Please guys, remember that Immigration is not a game and partners that you help come to the U.S are not acquisitions you can return when things don't work out.
I understand if your ex ''used you'' to come to the U.S and you have proof you would want to do something about it,  and you can contact USCIS and report him. which I believe might be tricky since he fooled you and the process and it seemed bona fide to you and to them. What evidence do you have to support this claim?  I also get that you're hurt and angry, but besides that, moving on is your best course of action. Good luck!

And even sometimes your status won't change even when you get a RFE or interview or it gets approved. My mom did the lifting condition process and she got approved 2 months ago after a long wait. She got a RFE and then an interview and her status never changed and then got her green card 2 weeks after the interview and it didn't change to approved either ...so for this type of process I won't count that much on the online status thing

Good news is that I received my noa1 today ...the bad news is that there has been times when I've question the performance of some of the people that work for the mail service and today was one of those times: I checked the mail as soon as I saw the mail truck drive away (I live on an apt community and the mail boxes are in like the middle of the complex) and got mail from other things including bank statements but nothing from uscis ...went out to enjoy my Saturday with my family and after 5 hours of being out came home to find an envelope stuck in between my door and the door frame... you guessed it right: MY FREAKING NOA1 ...there's been a few times that I've gotten mail for other apts and I just walk to that apt and knock on their door and thank god whoever got mine by mistake did the same thing and brought it here ...now I'm freaking paranoid, what if my biometrics apt get lost because of the mail people? Smh but anyway yay got my noa, now to head to DMV before my license expires
