In this day and age, I don't see that being farfetched at all. In fact, I think it's a great tactic to use. It proves the couple knows each other extremely personally, and trusts each other.

Shauna&Wael reacted to Syhem LNK in Should I apply for a B2 visa to travel to US to marry my PR Fiance?
    Hi!
So if I understand well, you want to come to the US to marry (under the visa waiver program) and then go back to the UK?
That's what I did (well except that I went back to France) and it worked. I stayed 2 weeks and we started the paperwork not too long after. We got our approval notice and now our case is at NVC. In other words, it didn't have any impact.
However do not stay after that, since it is considered a visa fraud to come to marry and then apply for adjustment of status.
    Good luck.

There's a free app you can download on your phone that scans pictures and documents perfectly. I use "CamScanner", there's others but that one just works!

Well wouldn't you know it, I was logging in to my USCIS account to get my receipt number for when I call them. And my status had change to card mailed!! Exactly 3 weeks after receiving the "card in production" email and 2 weeks since welcome notice received! Good gosh, after almost a year of waiting I will finally be done with USCIS for a while!
PDXDD, maybe you get your update at the 3 week mark as well! Fingers crossed for you.

The whole thing with the hospital is a scam. They take a large percentage of the applicants going through there and say they see a spot or scar tissue on their lungs. This comes from an employee working there.
They do this so the hospital looks good to the embassy.
Contact one of your congressional representatives and see if they can do a congressional inquery for you.

Most everyone responds to their RFE's using 2go so that part is normal. I see it all the time on here. Sometimes it takes a few days sometimes a few weeks or more for them to update the status of the visa/ What is the status now on CEAC and traveldocs? The visa can only be valid as long as the medical is valid which is six months. If her medical is expired now as you explained, the visa cannot be issued and she must complete it again.
Sorry for all the troubles, seems like a big pain.
I hope the end is near for you on this....

Tips for the future: This post should have been you're first post. It gives us way more information to work with which will give you much better answers
They gave you a really weird date format as they normally put it the way Shauneg mentioned. You should put yes on that question as you were refused entry, you'll get a chance to explain this on the interview.
No, you were not refused admission but you were refused a visa which means you'll answer no on the refused admission question but yes on the refused visa question.

Hi guys! thank you so much for your support. I just got back from my interview and We GOT APPROVED! everything went professional and smooth. I was asked general simple questions, when did we get married, how did we meet, when was our first date, How many times has he visited and that's it. I'm so glad I am able to breath and say this process is almost over! yay

Noah, I see from your post history that you are quite active in the Tourist Visa forum. I can't tell what personal stake you have in being here as you don't have a timeline nor any affiliation to a particular process.
My spouse's visa and our very lives hang on the decisions of people we are not allowed to talk with. We can't live together; we can't even begin to plan our dreams. We have no idea what is happening or why or how long it might take. It's maddening, depressing, frustrating, and very scary. Just as we approached the end, we are told no, no, not yet for you! I come here to feel the empathy of those who are also experiencing this. I have never "badgered" a DOS rep nor have I ever been condescending with them. I was instructed to call them for status updates, and that's all I can do.
You have been very rude and brusque, and I don't understand why you would take time out of your life to harangue and condescend to people here.
When I post in response to a member here, I try to ask myself if I'm sharing a fact that will answer a question or an experience that might feel helpful to the OP. Ive never had any issue with another member until you stumbled into this forum.

7 months is eight nanoseconds? I never once said i expected the visa fast..we;re patiently waiting like most of those in the MENA countries.. we knew it would take time and frankly i grow tired of ppl condemning my choice or others for the choice of spouse from one of these countries. There are a lot of good ppl from these countries. Never said i was an expert but i do know what the embassy told us to do and what i can do to follow up.
Now back on topic....Tercerero... how are you holding up? hoping you hear something good soon!

I am a bit curious on how this will be treated via K1. South Africa is a high fraud country already, adding someone in prison in the mix has to make it harder.

While I know that there is the person here from Sweden where everything went smooth, that was their experience with a spousal visa and Sweden is a low fraud country.

I personally think that the OP should be prepared for some of the hardest talks she's ever had in her life, both by those answering questions and the future CO that will be scrutinizing her relationship. I also hope that her fiance is being honest in the process and with her because if she only gets told half the story and then repeats what SHE thinks is true to the CO, that could get them denied right there.

If there are CO's in Canada, a low fraud country, that try to dissuade a Canadian from moving to America because of her fiances crime/court records (This was sometime last month), I really think that a South African CO is going to be a lot harsher.

I agree. I do not think they will hold him by the same standards. Not being able to attend the (AOS) with your spouse because your serving your country is not the same as not attending because your are now property of the state or Federal Government because you are now an inmate. Getting approved or denied is not solely based upon a set of written laws. Its not black and white. We ALL know it 'can' be based upon opinions of the interviewer. That can pave the road easily. The OP has not disclosed the reason for his incarceration for reasons other than, "I just don't want to", its because we all know its a biggie lurking there behind that door. It's obvious. I don't think its going to be as easy as everyone is predicting it is going to be.

I wasn't going to say anything, but if you feel it's worth encouraging what many of us see, based on very limited information, as highly risky, I'll add another comment about it being probably a bad idea. You know no more about the OP's situation than others here, so to lambaste others for discouraging while you encourage is, at the very least, equally unhelpful. This thread isn't the first time the OP has been challenged on the wisdom of all this.

It would of course be easy to provide some general details to avoid the quick judgments...such as sentence is only x months, or he's in jail because he forgot to pay his 1000 parking tickets or you're fully informed on the criminal history You're not obligated of course but your original post left things wide open and people on VJ are like anyone else....we'd all like to know Charles Manson isn't petitioning some poor woman to come to the US with no hope in he** of a good life.
