How do we balance these sorts of events (which I agree, happy ending for me as well) with the other end?

At the very least when you have young children, there is a very real serious risk of accidental death for your children.

I'm not sure how we get the best of both worlds? Maybe with technology? Finger-print locking guns? Don't those exist, or am I thinking of James Bond?

You don't.  It's two very different things.

By all rights, 21-year-old Bob Dole should have been dead after being shot by Germans in WW2, and 20-year-old George Bush after being shot out of the sky by the Japanese.
Today, the 95-year-old Senator Dole rose from his wheelchair, saluted, and said goodbye to the 94-year-old President Bush. (Photo: @GettyImages)

That just rocks. Greatest Generation.  I shudder to think what would happen today.

Here you go, bcking.  A SS for you.

Yes, it shows tax revenue up.  Particularly from other countries.  Unfortunately, outflow is also up, so it’s not as much to get excited about as one might think.

Agree spending is up, so the increasing revenue from the tax cuts does not help. Just pointing out that the mdl talking point that. Tax cuts caused a drop in tax revenue is simply not true

Thanks. My desktop accounts are locked out right now. Phone is all I got for posting.  Hard to do links, but I thought it was common knowledge.

I hope your link was current enough of a statistic not to warrant a scolding .

Are you allowed to call out someone here for their lack of posting? Don't make it personal. (I don't think that was your intention)

Pointing out someone posts a lot and someone else does not is hardly personal.  It's just am observation . It obvious your baiting someone.

Would it be personal to point out you make very very long posts. With very good grammar and I usually make short posts with creative grammar.

    Absurd assertion

Didn't we recently pass some tax breaks with no plans to make up the difference?

She believes in striving towards a goal, one that I generally share though I recognise realistically it's unlikely to happen. I can see why people liked what she was saying. I don't know much about her personally though other than she is young and female.

Actually Tax revenues greatly increased after the tax cuts.  So reload on the whole tax cuts cost us tax revenue MDL democratic party talking point

So fearing someone because of a hat they wear and where they are from to the point you are willing to violate their privacy and rummage through their private property is not mental illness?

No it's fairly common Trump derangement Syndrome.  It's a disorder.

The students said they are comfortable with her staying if she secures the guns in a 'safe or container'.

The above resolution sounds reasonable. Also 2 options given apparently. She moves out or the other roommates move out. Whoever remains is responsible for the $6000/mo rent. This was also apparently a mediated agreement agreed to by all parties.

Did you mean to type 6000 a month oh my

  9. I got a unique problem.  I did a name change a few days ago. Somehow completely by accident I changed my name back to one that was a closed account from a few years ago. Now when I try to login from a desktop it says account banned. Closed at users request. ( this was before I paid the money for my platinum membership)

Anyway I am still logged in on my phone. If I log off here I am toast.

Do I have any options other than creating a new account.  If so no biggie

Toilet bed and refrigerator in there? Easy!! That's all most guys need. That's 3/4 of the ideal man cave. Silly bet for whoever bet against him.

Getting used to the dark would be the only hard part for some people, but I'd get used to it PDQ for 100K.

The article linked doesn't completely explain the circumstances, but it states the mom sought medical attention in Jersey, then the child was transferred to CHOP before passing away. She didn't wait 6 weeks to seek medical attention.

I thought I had read in a similar article yesterday that the mom sought medical attention within a week after leaving the facility (and immediately after arriving in Jersey), but I can't find that article now. She could have been in the PICU for 5 weeks prior to her death. That isn't uncommon. We have a lot of tools to keep patients "alive" for an extended period of time before their passing.

The cause of death is listed as "respiratory failure" in the article, which probably comes from the death certificate. What is written on a death certificate is not at all an accurate portrayal of cause of death. Respiratory failure caused her death, but what caused the respiratory failure? She ultimately ended up at one of the best Children's Hospitals in the country, but again without knowing the actual cause of death (or you could say the contributing factors) I can't say whether earlier treatment would have changed the outcome.

So to summarize,  you dont know what happened,?

That right there is a valid point and one of the things I like about them. They require less maintinence overall as they have less mechanical parts. Not just as far as brakes and fluids go. I also like the fact that electric motors have more torque from a complete stop than gas engines. Now all we need is a loud obnoxious sound when you rev the engine (motor) and I'm in.

There was a movie about that.  The new Avalon has a sound generator of sorts
