just want to give a quick update.. our journey has finally ended thank you jesus!!  basically filed the n400, had the interview FOR THE Citizenship ONLY.. but our 751 case that's been transferred into jurisdiction limbo was automatically approved when she went and passed her interview. Funny thing was we were there with her.. but the consul didn't interview us like everyone keeps saying "the 751 must be adjudicited first and then they'll do the n400 interview"

nope. not at all.. not for us. what happened was she went for the n400.. and after it was done, she asked "we have a gc application.. do you know anything about that?" consul replied, "well actually.. i have it right here. is that (our son's name) and your husband outside?" my wife goes yes.. and that was it.

everything was approved automatically and her naturalization has even been scheduled within a day.. thank you jesus!!

Oath Experience Cadman Plaza Brooklyn 5/16/2018: (Just in case some one needs to know what to expect at brooklyn oath ceremony)....

I left home early and reached the venue by 7:30 AM as I have decided to drive and park in the near by parking. Found many and parked at 111 livingstone icon parking garage that has $20 if you park anytime between 5 AM to 10 AM and can take out any number of hours. I booked my spot from 6 AM to 2 PM just in case and it still costed me 20 bucks. Left my phone in the car itself. It was a short and scenic walk from livingstone street to Cadman Plaza E court building. By the time I reach there was a line formed. Contrary to some vj'ers here, it was more blessing in disguise and you will know what I mean shortly. Anyways, just like any airport security you go through like removing belts / no cameras / no phones / etc... Once through you are asked to get to 2nd floor while your family members are requested to get to 3rd floor. Today there were about 261 becoming new citizens. So the room was jam packed and there was hardly room for family members, so it's luck and depends on the day. Today no family members. Once inside FIFO (first in first out method is adopted). So they make you seated in a kind of order. The first 30 members get a chance to sit on cushioned chairs with arm rest. So if you reach early you might end up being in those chairs and instead of being stacked along on those long bench tables. Since you will probably end up sitting there for at least 4 hrs or so, the cushion chairs made it more comfortable.

You have to fill the back portion of the oath letter there itself and enter the city / state as "brooklyn , new york". once done, that's it. There were no one from voter registration since there are no elections around the corner I guess. Now time is about 9 AM. Still all the people are being filled up slowly in an orderly form. Once all the candidates are seated (or so), they will call people with special cases like name changes or picture issue. Then about 9:30 AM or so, from row 1 (the first set of candidates who came in first) are called to hand over their filled out form along with green card (s) if you more than one and any other documents like EAD, Travel Documents, Refugee , I94 etc. They will write the last 3 digits on to your form and hand over an envelop that contains Oath / Pledge and passport application and voter information flyer and a hard case for keeping your certificate later. Once you collect your enevelop after handing over the GC etc.. you are directed to another table where they will have you verify your naturalization certificate for any errors and then if all ok, then you are asked to sign in front of them (the same signature that you have done during your interview). That's it. You are sent back to your seat and you wait and wait until all the remaining fellow would be citizens are taken care of as well. Once the process is complete, including name changes / picture issue folks, they will formally make a phone call to request the judge to join us all. This was about 11:20 AM or so. Until this process you are free to go to the rest room as well. There are drinking water fountains available as well just in case you need to drink some water near the rest room corridor. But once they make the judge to come, that's a hint that you are not supposed to be outside since if you miss the oath / pledge then you are not naturalized yet.. it's that simple. So guys understand when they say not to leave the room, they make sense because we have come to this point after lot of hurdles hence, don't miss this out.

Judge walks in at 11:40  and we all rise welcoming her and in turn today the judge was a women, who was very jovial and pleasant. Made our day more memorable. She complimented all of us and also apologized related to how hard it is to come into this building going through security etc and all other formalities etc... but nevertheless she said first let's have our citizens , and so immediately did the oath / pledge with that done, we were officially citizens at that precise moment. Then she congratulated all of us and then she read out all the countries and we all supported each other with this great achievement. There were about 65 countries or so. It was an emotional farewell to motherland but judge made it clear that even though you have renounced all ties but don't renounce your love to your own country and culture. Please carry on the legacy of it. America is built on freedom and it's "WE THE PEOPLE" that makes it proud.  Then she left at 12 Noon or so, now again the first row is called upon to submit our oath letter and then collect our certificates and we are on our own once outside that building and disappear in world that is now painted "RED" "BLUE" and "WHITE" by 12:20 PM.

I have my passport appointment scheduled for Friday and got to my car and headed back home driving for the very first time as an american citizen.

Thanks to some of the folks here who were sharing their experiences.. like @Going through@vkhutchings@anu19@lela and many others...

    Some pointers to remember:
    1. it's always FIFO (so if you come early you will leave early as well)
    2. Status updates (Might happen or might not happen - so don't depend and be anxious and above all STOP Comparing with others statuses)
    3. Attire - I have noticed that some were too casual but nevertheless this is one of the most important event of your life, so I would suggest go in your formal (suits for men and ladies to be business). that gives the event the dignity and respect (not that this is mandatory but will be great to have these worn)
    4. Eat something in the morning if possible, I was really hungry as I could not eat anything in the morning. By the time you are done, you feel exhausted at some level even though you are very happy.

    Hope you get it sorted.

(won't let me edit the above post to add) :
"You cannot specify which document(s) an employee may present from these lists. If you discriminate in the form I-9 process based on an individuals citizenship status, immigration status, or national origin, you may be in violation of the law and subject to sanctions such as civil penalties and be required to pay back pay to discrimination victims. A document is acceptable as long as it reasonably appears to be genuine and to relate to the person presenting it. Your wife might want to politely point out to her employer the very prominent notice at the top of the I-9 form instructions regarding anti-discrimination, and tell them to look on page 8 at the tab where it states an I-551 stamp is an acceptable list A document:  https://secure.i9.talx.com/Popups/Documents/I-9InstructionsNew.pdf
"The refusal to hire or continue to employ an individual because the documentation presented has a future expiration date may also constitute illegal discrimination."

And also the M-274, handbook for employers:
    https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/handbook-employers-m-274

In other words, tell them to do one.

You do not need to send (presumably) expired letters and they are useless because they have now expired.
The I-551 stamp is a valid list A document for I-9 purposes, and is all that needs to be presented. It is not up to the company which documents are presented, and her company is on shaky legal ground if they continue to push.
if you really want to have some fun and annoy them, submit a valid state ID and unrestricted social security card, which also fulfills the I-9 requirements without any other documents needing to be presented.

We filed the I-751 in January 2018, but the N-400 in 12/2018 and had the biometrics appointment on 1/4. I used the guides on VJ, VJ searches and some online research, but the process was pretty easy. Uploading and deleting files is simple and intuitive. You can upload as many supplementary evidence files as you want (not necessary, but I prefer to front load evidence) as long as they're each below the file limit. The online notifications in our USCIS account show up before we receive the paper copies, and you have the option to download copies of the letters from the updates.

We just hope the process doesn't drag on too long....

charlieprince got a reaction from FarrahIdir in exat women supposed to wear abaya in Riyadh embassy
just wear it.. it's dress code there.. she doesn't have to cover up her head/face/etc but no reason not to wear the black overalls (i guess that's the abaya..)
it's the interview/documents/etc that's more important not the dress code just keep it simple, have her wear what she would be wearing outside inside, it's not an issue at all

Make sure the letter of employment is official (on letterhead) and signed by his boss and that it states how much he makes. Chances are the Tax return will be an issue when you get interviewed but that's also why you're gathering proof now to tell the consule and explain to them why you won't be a problem..

how much does he make? does it cover the federal poverty guidelines? if so, all you may need are
    -a Letter of Employment
-a letter explaining why his 2014 tax return is so low (he stayed with you for a year)
-paystubs for the past 3 months
but if you have a willing co-sponsor, all that may be moot then.. but yeah all they really care about is that you won't be a public charge when you get here

charlieprince got a reaction from usmsbow in Refused entry at embassy even w/ interview confirmation
Just want to clarify this to stop confusion from spreading: EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT AND 100% K-1's do not "always schedule their own interview."
It depends on the embassy. Case in point: OUR K-1 CASE (Riyadh, KSA) has to be scheduled by the Embassy.
My suggestion is to check the Embassy Info here for your embassy and see how they do things..

charlieprince got a reaction from kamw in Why is Philippines auto expedited
This is where RED TAPE becomes blatantly obvious..
because even if the order to expedite "Philippines" applications were valid
...it was over 2 years ago! It should've been stopped a while but yet it's become the status-quo
and yes, I know my application got expedited and i am wholeheartedly grateful for it..
but i see the pain and anger other petitioners/couples are going thru and frankly.. there should be no Philippines Expedite anymore
it should've been stopped a long time ago, but red tape..

charlieprince reacted to KayDeeCee in K-1, NVC Invoice?! Did I do the right Steps? I need help
K-1 applicants pay a $265 visa processing fee when applying for the visa. Your consulate should have provided info on how to pay that.
A K-1 does not submit or pay anything to the NVC. You are speaking about invoice fees in your post. I think you need to make sure you are reading about the procedures and requirements for K-1 visas and not other types of visas, such as spousal visas, when researching. Someone applying for a spousal visa would need to pay fees to the NVC and will be invoiced. This is not applicable for a K-1.

charlieprince got a reaction from jan22 in i129f question after applying for i130f
I'll let others answer you more specifically but just wanted to adress this very crucial thing you wrote down and for me specifically, I can relate..
you said within your family? so she's your cousin? don't worry you can say if she is no one here will judge. I said specifically for me I can relate because my own K-1 petition is to marry my cousin..
here's what's crucial about this info.. YOU CANNOT PETITION HER IF YOU LIVE IN A STATE THAT DOES NOT ALLOW COUSINS TO MARRY!!
so right away if you live in such a state, your application is dead on arrival..
that being said, really the main thing uscis will look at is proof of relationship, specifically of having met in person within the past 2 years..
everything else just be ready for such as answering questions/rfe's about your past petitions..
    i wish you luck!
