It seems that CSC is not willing to provide anyone GC  if they apply for N-400, so they took out our $695 ( fees for ROC) for nothing.

Find out letter is transfer notice, they have completed preliminary review and sent case to NBC, Missouri. I-751 09.22.17, N-400 09.07.18.

There’s nothing to worry about in as much as you have a valid extension letter or i-551 stamp with the expired green card.

I’ve traveled with it 3 different times and came back through  different airports without any issues. ✌️

I don't think you need to do anything ... move on with your life as a GC holder ... the only difference is that you cannot file N400 based on 3 years rule but have to wait until 5 years ... Congrats on your approval and good luck with your next level

This is a funny thing to do ... haha

I'm in same shoes as you and in fact in Dallas with 23 months processing times for N400.

Just like @DavidnThao said, if you have the i-551 stamp, it's as good as having GC ... I have also traveled out of the country 3 different times (2 to Africa and 1 to Europe) came back through different airports without any issues or delay at the POE.

The good thing is Texas issues 7/8 years drivers licence and nothing to worry about on that.

I got a state government job with expired green card and extension letter ... recently, I enrolled in TSA Pre-check with my expired GC and i-551 stamp ... so why would you want to withdraw your N400 when the timeline is dropping to 12 to 13 month processing time now for Texas

    Well, it's up to you

Hi everyone! Just an update. I passed my citizenship interview yesterday. The IO also approved my I-751 without doing an interview with my wife. IO reviewed the I-751 application form with me, then asked for current evidences like recent joint bank statements, joint utility bills and current lease/mortgage. So now, I'm waiting for my oathtaking.

You heard wrong. And this is why it is good you are checking here on VJ. They don't just stop with your ROC case. They simple continue it along with your naturalization.
You can. But why? That will only lengthen the time for you to complete your naturalization. If you are eligible to apply for N400, you should do so. No need to wait.
Traveling with an expired GC and extension letter is perfectly fine. That is literally what the extension letter is for. To extend the validation of your physical GC. Simply take the extension letter whenever you travel.
It sucks we know. But it is what it is. As you have already been through the immigration process you should well know that nothing in immigration is fast. Everything takes time. But at least you are entering the last leg of the race and all of this will be behind you.

You got to do what you got to do to get pass this. You are loosing sight of the big picture here. You are applying for citizenship. That means you can exit and enter the US without any of this hassle anymore. If it means walking around with an expired card and an extension letter, so be it. It is not as bad as you think.

The I-751 and N400 do get processed in parallel. What will happen is when the I-751 is complete and you have your interview, it will be approved. If, by chance, the N400 is complete at the same time, it will get approved at the same as the I-751 then you can start the naturalization phase. If the N400 still requires some time for processing, then you will get a 10 year GC until you get approved.

I did apply for my naturalization before I was approved for the i751. While I was waiting for the interview for naturalization they approved my removal of conditions and now I’m a US citizen since last Tuesday. So go ahead and do it. Good luck

There was a recent denial reported here for a letter sent during a fight during the K1 asking that it be withdrawn and the petition made it through anyway and at the N400 stage they decided the K1 had been improperly issued .   I don't remember the whole thing.
A cousin voted for Obama while on the green card,  they are back in Nigeria ( their sibling did the same and is now a USC so it isn't always a denial )

Here is my combo interview experience at the Seattle office!

I brought my spouse, but my IO didn't bother interviewing him (who was waiting outside)!     I guess I sent more than enough supporting documents for my I-751 application!

My IO asked me how we met, if my spouse has visited my hometown and met my parents, who usually cooks, who usually manages our finances, if we're thinking about adopting children, etc.!

My IO asked me to show her our joint condo ownership certificate since I told her that we bought a condo 1.5 years ago.    I also showed her our 2017 joint tax return transcript.

For the citizenship part, I scored the first 6 questions correctly!

    - What do we call the first ten amendments of the Constitution?
    - We elect a President for how many years?
    - What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?
    - Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
    - When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?
    - Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States?

My IO asked me to read "George Washington was the first president of the United States." and write "Lincoln was president during the Civil War."

My combo interview took 30 minutes!
