After 630+ days, the agony of waiting for my M-I-L is over. Her I-130 & I-485 was officially approved. We've downloaded the Approval letter from the USCIS website. No interview was scheduled. Just waiting for the official letter and GC itself to arrive in the mail. Man that was quite long wait.

@ameribrazil I checked all the details and everything is correct. I even tried creating a new account but same results.
Hmm they might have your information incorrect on their system or they are experiencing a glitch. Have you tried calling them? I think your initial comment of sending via snail mail might be your only option at this point. Good Luck!
-
Just my thought, there could be a few possible reasons for the error.
- Timing: Double-check the timing of your naturalization and the filing of the I-130 petition. Make sure you were already a USC at the time of filing the petition. If there was a gap between your naturalization and the petition filing, it's possible that the system is not recognizing your updated status.
- Data entry error: Review the information you entered on the form, including your certificate number. Ensure that you have entered the correct information without any typos or mistakes. Even a minor error in data entry can trigger the error message.
- Technical issue: It's also possible that the error is due to a technical issue or glitch in the filing system.
I think your course of action of trying again may resolve the issue.

Does anyone know what are we supposed to do after NVC has approved all the documentation uploaded? Do we email the embassy for the email or should we just wait until nvc sends an email with the interview date?
The specific process and requirements can vary depending on the country and the type of visa you are applying for. However, in general, after NVC approves all the documentation you have uploaded, the next steps typically involve the following:
- NVC Case Complete: Once the NVC has reviewed and approved all your documents, they will deem your case as "NVC Case Complete." This means that they have verified that you have submitted all the necessary forms and supporting documents.
- Interview Scheduling: After your case is complete, the NVC will transfer your case to the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country. The embassy will then schedule an interview for you based on the availability of visa interview slots. The timing of the interview can vary, and it largely depends on the workload of the specific embassy or consulate.
- Interview Letter: Once the embassy or consulate has scheduled your interview, they will typically send you an interview letter or notification. This letter will provide you with the date, time, and location of your interview. It may also include any additional instructions or documents you need to bring for the interview.
In most cases, you should not need to contact the embassy or consulate directly to request an interview date. Instead, you will typically receive communication from the embassy or consulate once they have scheduled your interview. However, if you have any specific concerns or questions about the process, it's best to consult the official website of the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country or reach out to their consular section for guidance.
Remember, this information is a general guideline as I am not an attorney or practice any law. This is just based on my experience.

Greetings everyone,
I would like to share an update regarding our immigration process for my mother-in-law (MIL). On May 26, 2022, we submitted the I-130 application on her behalf. Subsequently, on September 15, 2022, we submitted the I-765, I-131, and I-485 applications, along with a request for Concurrent Filing alongside the I-130. Today, we received approval for the EAD Combo, which is valid until June 2025. We are delighted that her EAD application has been approved.
While following this thread, I have noticed that many individuals have received their Green Card (I-485) directly without obtaining an EAD first. This has made me curious about the process for my MIL. Is it normal for her to receive the EAD first, and then for the USCIS to continue reviewing her I-485?
-
I am utterly surprised that I received another text today that they had mailed the card today. I was more like expecting some time next week that I would get another update that the card will be mailed. This is great as now we can renew my wife's DL and her Global Entry.

@ameribrazil - Congratulations! I get it. My case is in the batch EAC181225, and mine was among about 60 of 180 that didn’t get transferred to Potomac or Texas on 3/13 and 3/14. So like they keep about 1/3 to do it.
It is just so illogical to split the work randomly, not even numerical.
Thank you! Yes, I will definitely agree that it is so illogical to split them. I don't understand how they handle their case work and I will never find out smh

Congratulations! Another VSC filer approved!
That's a great turnaround from your RFE. Goes to show that things aren't always that delayed once you receive an RFE. Well done, congrats!
Fantastic start to the week, congratulations to you!

Was your case at Vermont the whole time, or was your case transferred to Texas on 3/6 with most of your batch?
Was at VSC the whole entire time, it wasn't transferred which worried us a bit.

Thank You Lord hallelujah! God is Good! All the time.
We received a text today that brought a sigh of relief to this endless waiting game. Wife's Green Card is now being produced. I am definitely happy that we waited to file for her citizenship as I didn't want the waiting time to be extended as our local office processing for N-400 is 9 - 16 months. Thanks to everyone's support on this. Good luck to the rest of you still waiting. Now on to N-400..

Answering my own question here, but I found that there are one or two folks who have been approved already from Nebraska transfers from the January pool. Hopefully, we're next. I also see that VSC filers are getting activity on their cases, so it shouldn't be long before some of our group are getting updates. Please keep us all updated whenever you guys that are waiting hear something! Thanks.
Hopefully VSC would keep going. I noticed that several cases before and after my wife's has been transferred while her case few others remained in VSC. I wonder what's their reasoning for transferring some and not others.

@ameribrazil I just counted six approvals in the January 2018 filers thread this afternoon!
This gives a little hope and encouragement that we might see the end of the tunnel sooooonn 😊

Without getting overly hyped or excited, there seems to be more and more movements with the I-751s. There appears to have been 3 approval so far for the January 2018 filers. I am hoping sometime in April/May we would see some approvals for our us all or sooner!

My window for eligibility to file for N-400 opened on the 11th and I decided to wait to file for now. The prospect of there being any additional delay in getting the 10-year Green Card was a risk I was unwilling to take. It is true I have reacted to fears others have shared in this and other threads, but I can see why introducing another variable (such as filing for N-400 prior to approval of I-751) could disrupt current progress. For most of us, I think the wait to get Citizenship is more bearable than this limbo GC extension letter fiasco. I want the anxiety of "the letter" and its impending expiry behind me as quickly as possible. Risking a year's progress on I-751 for what might be a 6-8 month heads start on Citizenship didn't present enough upside for me to risk it.
My wife's window is on Feb 23rd. After much deliberation of the pros and cons, we both feel that its best to wait it out and allow ROC to be completed because coupling the N-400 and I-751 will further delay the process. This impacts her driver license because NJ MV would only allow her DL to expire based on the extension letter. We would have to constantly go to MV to extend her DL whenever we get a stamp from Info Pass. NJ N-400 processing time is 12 - 16 which means potentially her I-751 would be extended for another 12 months.

Hello,
So, as the Government is shut down, the current wait time for Vermont Office is 15.5 months to 18.5 months for Feb filers...what happens if (a Big IF i know), the 751 extension letter expires? Do they further extend that?
If there is a chance of having the extension letter expire, should we file for N400 while we wait?Thank you

I agree with @aaron2020
Green Card holders (Permanent Resident) are eligible to receive Financial Aid.
Financial Aid is any grant or scholarship, loan, or paid employment offered to help a student meet his/her college expenses. Such aid is usually provided by various sources such as federal and state agencies, colleges, high schools, foundations, and corporations. The amount of financial aid that a student receives is determined through federal, state and institutional guidelines. Grants include aid the student receives that need not be repaid; loans must be repaid. Interest rates and repayment terms vary by program. Employment is aid based on an hourly rate for work performed.
If the type of financial aid you receive is a loan, you have to repay it back. If the type of financial aid you receive is a grant and/or scholarship, you don't have to repay if back.

How did you file your tax returns? Electronic or snail mail?
If you filed electronic, I would print out Form 9325 acknowledging that your return was transmitted and successfully accepted by the IRS. I would submit this along with your 1040 as proof that you've filed your tax returns.

So I won’t see anything on the SAVE website until I actually go to the SSA and file the paperwork? Thank you. I was confused if he was supposed to show up before I go, or if in fact it is how you described.
thanks so much!
"...The SAVE Program provides a fast, secure and efficient verification service for federal, state and local benefit-granting agencies to verify a benefit applicant’s immigration status or naturalized/derived citizenship..."

No you won't see anything on the SAVE system until the applicant actually goes to the SSA and file the paperwork. I would recommend doing this at the earliest because if you do this closer to his I-94 expiring, they will deny him and will have to wait until he gets his EAD card. Here's a thread that you can read that had this similar situation that I'm referring to.

Hello!
My fiancé arrived in the US yesterday for good (finally)!! And we're considering going to apply for his SSN today. But we're a little confused about the necessity to wait 2 weeks still. Can anyone speak on this? We'd like to do things as streamlined as possible.
I've imputed his data into the SAVE site (https://save.uscis.gov/CaseCheck/SearchCases.aspx) but nothing pops up under his passport or I94 number. I'm not even sure it's supposed to at this point though.
In our experience, the SSA office has to submit a case into the SAVE system to verify your fiance's immigration status. This verification can take up to 2 weeks as in the case for my wife when she applied for her SSN and when she took her driver license. Once the SSA or any other agency checking the immigration status, you will see that appear on the SAVE system. In fact, SSA will issue you the case number from SAVE system so you can also see and track the progress. Good Luck

Exactly! Agreed, it's not like how it used to be. Thanks BTW.
