I noticed some people were ranting about immigration while being together and doing AOS. I don't understand them. While being apart and ranting, yes I do understand, but while together, who cares how long it takes. My wife came here 1 week ago and I could care less how long her green card takes to arrive. She is here and that's all that matters.

You require what is called a Transportation Letter.
Go here: http://bogota.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/lpr-services.html and follow the directions for a lost green card. Make an appointment as they describe, and bring all the required documents. They will process an I-90 for you (replacement green card), and issue you a Transportation Letter at the same time. This letter is what gets you into the US in lieu of your green card. It is a single-use document.

I'd recommend you to contact the US consulate in Colombia, they should be able to help you out

Hello everyone I had a two year green card from a K-1 visa and it was stolen outside of the USA I need a travel document to get back home to the USA. I called the USCIS and they said I have to file a I-90 for a replacement of the green card while in the USA but I am in Colombia. I am in the process of getting a new Colombian Passport now also I have 30 days before I fly back home to the USA. Can any one help with getting the Travel Documents I need. Thanks Fanny

If my husband and I have kids, would I file an I-130 for each person coming to the U.S., or would the kids go on the form under the benficiary's children?

Wow, in that case people wait for years to get into this country. I'm shocked. This is outrageous. What is this heaven on earth or something? Why such harsh restrictions?

You are over complicating matters, just delay it until you get the visa.

Can you move your date? What exactly is holding you to this October wedding? I made the same mistake, but I made sure that all my vendors were aware of the situation and all of them allowed me to move the date with no penalty. My October wedding is now a May wedding. Have you talked to your vendors? They're much more likely to be flexible now as opposed to a month before the wedding day.

Pavel3002 got a reaction from mbalih in How to pass customs with No English on CR1 Visa
My wife speaks 0 English. She is about to go to interview at the embassy and will get her visa shortly. Yeah finally!!! I had to wait entire year. I'm just concerned that she has no flying experience and doesn't speak any English and she has to go through customs and they ask questions there all the time. From my experience they always ask me "what was the reason for your trip" and "if im bringing any purchased items abroad" and so on. Does anyone have any experience with this and can help guide on what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, very difficult process. I don't wish this on anyone . My wife and I are coming to the end of I-130 journey. It is draining emotionally and financially. Only one who waited year or more can understand what pain it is. The first three months were really a nightmare. I wanted to find job overseas and leave US just to be with her, but couldn't find any work abroad.

it is really hard to be apart for a year. They should make I-129F and I-130 Process take same time. Right now 129F people get here fast and do AOS, why don't U.S. do same for I-130? Spouse enters US and then AOS instead of waiting waiting and waiting. It would be more fair I think.

Many people here were making incredibly FALSE statements about not being allowed to get married and so on. Some correction was needed. Especially those on the VWP who made sweeping statements that the K-1 is the only alternative. In their instance - That is a blatant untruth and luckily some people have come here to correct that.
I'm self interested, not self centred. Yes, I want my peitition to take the same amount of time, why shouldn't I?

Everything she's expressing tells me she is not ready for marriage. She might think she loves him, she might think she wants marriage, but she is shamefully unaware of what it takes to actually be married.
Wanting your own life - Marriage is a shared life
No wanting to depend on someone - Marriage is needing to depend on someone and to be depended upon in turn
To the OP. I'm also of the opinion of others here, Do Not Come. Do not get married, you are not ready for marriage in general, and this is not the right guy in any case.

    1. Your level of flexibility is expressed here in neon lights.
    2. This is at least the second time that you've said this.
    3. He's suggesting very valid alternatives that you're rejecting out of hand.
    4. He's accurate again.
    5. Why? Where is the pressure coming from?
    6. You don't really love him. If you did, you'd want to be with him anywhere, and you would care that his daughter loves their cats.
    7. Break it off now, immediately and permanently. You clearly say, "I like to have my own life [...] that's what makes me happy."
