Just tell the guy to tell his sister in law and apply and see what happens! And leave it at that. That’s the only way we would know it she gets it or not

She is clearly asking for help in committing fraud

I highly doubt it. Being a godparent is solely for religious reasons and nothing else unless a legal guardian is not around when the parents pass away and then the court will appoint them as the caretaker. And finally being a godparent is not a legal title

If this is the most important thing you find in life to complain about when it’s come to the immigration process, then you my friend have been living a good life 😂

Awesome, Congratulations. Did you meet with the officer face-to-face or was the interview done electronically (due to covid)?
It was face to face in his office with the door open and of course with mask on. He had a shield between us though and an IPad to write and read from. It’s really a nice relax atmosphere for the most part

Hello I’ve found very few VJ members with Hartford as the location- I’m wondering if you had your interview yet? We filed in February 2020 and status says they are taking longer than expected... On,y 2 people on VJ updated their timeline to reflect an interview in Hartford in 2020 so it’s pretty hard to get an estimate of when we may hear something.
Hey, yes not much members from CT in VisaJourney. Yes I had my interview in November of last year and was approved and had same day oath ceremony and I applied for my passport the day after which should be coming this week.

How is everyone? Who is still waiting for interviews?
-
Had my interview this morning and I passed all my tested and was approved for naturalization. Had my oath ceremony this morning also just had to wait like 2 hours for it cause it was still early before scheduled time. It was like 19 of us and only took like 10 mins. Finally glad the journey is over with. Thank you to everyone that give me advice in this group.

So I I’m finished gathering all the information I think I will need for my interview and I guess it’s now time to start studying
-
So today I finally got my letter in the mail for my interview. So the next step for me is to start collecting documents to carry to my interview

Hi Everyone, I am wondering if anyone recently received an interview invitation for N-400 from the Hartford office? I understand that the Hartford office re-opened on June 4, 2020 and should be scheduling non-emergency interviews. I applied for N-400 in November 2019 in the Hartford CT office and had my bio appointment in December 2019. During January 2020, my online USCIS profile had an ETA for case completion as May 2020, which got pushed to August 2020 due to the pandemic. Now I have this "Estimated Wait Time" countdown on my account page with 15 days remaining. Wondering if anyone had a similar case and if these ETAs are reliable? Thanks a bunch in advance!
Hey Im also in the Hartford office. Im waiting for my N400 interview as well. I applied in November and did walk in biometrics in December. My original completion date has stayed the same, it is August 2020, my estimated wait time is now at 10 days. I been waiting for an update to my case also. Hopefully we can both hear some thing very soon. Do you know if they are doing aoth ceremonies?

Do you have a date for your N-400 yet? I applied early November 2019 and didn't get a date until about January 2020. Had interview February 12, got scheduled for oath March 18(which got postponed due to COVID). Processing times depend mostly on where you live/filed. With COVID timelines may differ. I would try to check your online account to see a somewhat accurate estimate.
No i dont have a date yet. Covid 19 really slowed down everything

I think the wait time is when you case will be completed. but with these circumstances nothing became measurable anymore. Mine was April and i just got the oath ceremony finally.
So true, because with all the cancellations i expect things to be delayed a lot if it wasn't already so to begin with

which step are you in now?
Im waiting for my N400 interview

I asked in the general forum but no one answered my question. What is the estimated wait time? Does it tell me how much days till my next step?
-
Hey all. Hope all is well with everyone and that you and your families are safe. Not sure if this question was answered before on this forum but i was wondering if there is a difference between both times. Does the wait time mean that i have to wait that long till the next step to be taken on my case or does it the wait time fall inline with with the estimated case completion timeline?

So now that the online estimates are back for our accounts. who thinks these estimates are accurate or being close to accurate?

Same here. Just logged in to see and I don’t see it anymore. I wonder if they are getting rid of estimated time completions
An unhappy ending to a marriage

I just never understood the reasoning for sending money back home every month to support grown people that could work. At that point it just feels like your paying to be married to somebody’s daughter. You feeling a lot of pain but you probably just saved yourself headache and money. What’s love if it depends on how much money you can send home to the family
