Thank you! I will look into different flight options. One reason why I would rather transfer in Europe than in the US is that I would have to take all of my belongings throught the security again in the US and I might fly with a lot of stuff which would be difficult to collect and handle alone. But I’ll definitely think about it.

I left an envelope just in case since I wasn’t sure if they allow pick-ups at this time but glad to hear the processing time was so fast!

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):
    1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one). Your fiance(e) should review this information in advance of the interview (the embassy will have copies of this as well).
    2. Send copies of the documentary proof that you submitted with the I-129F for your fiance(e) to have on hand for their interview at the embassy. Your fiance(e) should review this information in advance of the interview (the embassy will have copies of this as well).
    3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
    4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all
    5. You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:

    (A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance
    (B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)
© If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern
    (D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

    6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. (backup information; the embassy will have copies of this as well)
    7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, online chat logs (pick several over the prior few months), etc.. from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 until date-now).

Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

-I personally don't foresee the color of the pen being an issue, but I personally if it is possible to just do it over and use black ink since each consulate is different and might be overly strict.

Welcome!!!! Make sure you come back here and keep us updated along your journey :) Also we waited until we received Packet 3 before we scheduled our medical exam. The packet will contain all of the details in it that you will need. Will not take long to receive it as the embassy is quite quick in Finland.

    WELCOME

Happy to have you join us and I am glad to see you're finally approved and getting ready to begin your journey to the states! Katri said everything perfectly and is correct with all of the advice given as that is what my wife did. Bringing multiple birth certificates was also very beneficial prior to coming here so you don't need to wait for multiple certified copies in the mail if you need additional which in Maryland we did so it was helpful having them already. The prescriptions as she said will not be an issue but again make sure it is in English. My wife kept her FInnish bank account as well so as Katri said make sure you bring banking codes for you to use. When you get a chance look at my Timeline as my wife wrote reviews as well as questions they asked you at the border and so on upon moving here that I think you will find helpful. Let us know if you need anything else

You will wait until you receive a letter in the mail from the Embassy. It takes roughly a week and will contain everything they need from you etc.

Yes that is what I gather as well. We received something requesting immunization and a new medical which is weird but our form looks totally different and ours came from a support center not field office? So weird

You should file for renewal EAD and AP documents 120 days before your current documents will expire, so you should have filed in December. There's no guarantee you'll now receive the replacements before your current documents expire.
Complete new I-131 and I-765 forms (on the I-765 check "renewal of my permission to accept employment"), a copy of the front and back of your current EAD/AP, a copy of your I-485 NOA, and four passport photographs (two for each form). Send the whole package to the Chicago Lockbox. No fee is required.

Hi there! Finland allows dual citizenship so there's no risk of losing the Finnish one. You do have to register your new citizenship with the Finnish authorities though afterwards, and from what I've understood, aside from obtaining an apostille, the process is free of charge. The registration can be done through an embassy abroad. I'll find out soon enough, my oath ceremony is next week... Here's info about the policy in Finnish:

Lenny&Sanna got a reaction from -Shana- in SSN Howto
I called CBP again and spoke to the Duty Officer and he told me that they only deal with errors pertaining to the I-94 now since it is electronic (he also checked with his supervisor and said the same thing). He gave me a number to technical support at SAVE http://www.uscis.gov/save/contact-saveand the woman on the phone was very familiar with what I told her happened as incorrect name entry calls she gets all the time, she took all of the information and said she would submit it to the policy department and I should hear back from them shortly and gave me a reference number. So I'm really hoping that this will correct the name issue as she took all of what I said down before submitting it. I would imagine if it is changed before the SSN application arrives or at least they will know about it there should be no further issues, or we can only hope :/
