Aug 17 State Department Update - Charleston entered phase 1. So we've now got 6 in Phase 2 and 13 in Phase 1.
And I'm not sure if this is the verbiage for each opening, but they say in the update, "the Center continues to be a high volume passport processing center" and that sounds positive!

Huh, I did not get an email, inbox or spam. I've just been checking the Online Tracker pretty regularly and noticed it was in process this morning. It did have my email below, and that was accurate, though. Who knows.

Applied on 8/4, just became traceable today 8/13. Check hasn't been cashed yet.
RE: adding your email to the Tracker - does anyone know what actions prompt an email update? i.e. would they email me when it is approved, or should I keep monitoring the tracker?

Anyone else been refreshing the Status of Operations page waiting for this week's update? Historically it seems like they were updating the number of agencies/centers + phase # on Monday and then number of apps processed on Thursday, but this week agencies/centers are still as of August 3rd and there was no Monday update. Boo.

Hey all, we applied for my wife's passport on the day-of Naturalization Ceremony, which was 8/4. Still waiting for check to be cashed/tracker to come online. Hoping it is early this week!
Fingers crossed it comes quickly - she's pregnant and Sept is really the last chance to see family in Canada buuut gotta wait for this last step on the immigration process.😄

Just finished the Oath Ceremony this morning @ Montgomery, AL.
Scheduled for 9:50 and the letter said you could go in no earlier than 30 mins before, so we arrived at 9:20. There were two guys out front and one motioned me into a parking lot and he collected all of my wife's old GCs/work authorization, as well as the form that came with the letter. He was super nice.
He then instructed us to pull around back and they would administer the oath in the car; so we got a drive-thru oath. Which was cool, because I was able to be there for it.
Pulled around back and there was a little tent that we drove up to. The guy there handed over a "packed of goodies" and had her sign the Naturalization Cert. He then administered the oath and said "Congratulations, and drive safe!".
Took maybe 5 minutes total. This afternoon we'll apply for the passport and go from there!
ALSO, her estimated case completion is still on October 2020 [2 months] (and has been basically since we started) and estimated wait time is 3 months.

Hey all, just wanted to get your thoughts the biggest post-approval "hurdle" aka, passport. Obviously under normal circumstances, this is straightforward buuuut, Covid.
My wife is pregnant, due in December, and we haven't been able to see family in CA since last year due to the virus. Ideally we'd be able to visit Canada - pending the border opening back up (fingers crossed), but obviously we'd need to wait on her getting a passport since they take the GC at Oath Ceremony.
I've been going back and forth on her either...
- Applying for a passport and getting added the backlog que, hoping we get it within 6 or so weeks (see specific numbers here)
- Wait on an office to enter Phase 3 of reopening where they resume expedited service.
Any thoughts/advice on which route to take?

He did mention that the Oath ceremony might be delayed a bit due to the upcoming potential USCIS furlough, but based on the case updates so far (no appointment letter posted yet) it's looking like that'll be in mid-late-August.
Oath Ceremony scheduled - August 4th! Much earlier than I was expecting, but we'll see if it holds with the furloughs.

Just for a quick recap, she went in (max of 15 mins before scheduled time due to Covid), and then was called back almost exactly at her interview time. On her way back, the IO asked "Does your husband still have his man-bun" - so I guess he'd been looking at our file, ha! (update: I don't).
Once back in the office, he immediately did the oath, and then asked her 5 questions, which she all got right. Hey everyone, we filed for N400 on December 31st. Already had the 10 year GC in hand and were back and forth on just staying with that, but opted to go ahead and do citizenship after the Fee Increase proposal came out.
Did biometrics on Jan 22 and our estimated completion date was Sept 2020; on June 11th my wife's interview was scheduled for July 14th in Montgomery AL. Now time to see if it sticks!

Anyone else having issues with the case tracking? I sent in my wife's documents a month ago, received NOA on 3/27/17 and biometrics appointment on 4/8, but still my receipt number is getting an "invalid" kickback from the USCIS site.

Hello Folks,
Here is the backstory: my wife (Canadian) got her social security card shortly after we got married. It was in her maiden name. She then went back and changed it to her married name. However, once the card arrived it had her middle name combined with her first name (ex: Jenniferchristine). We went back to SS offices to try and get this changed, they tried but were unable to, saying USCIS / Dept. of Homeland Security has a "lock" on it and it cannot be changed until after we receive her GC - they related it to a mistake by an officer at our POE. Unfortunately, in that area, we are a dreaded interview wavier case, so who knows when we will get that.
Shortly thereafter, her EAD arrives. It has been correctly listed as ex: Jennifer C (reflecting our AOS forms).
Here is the issue. She now has a job. She has to fill out an 1-9, a W-4, etc. So which name should she use on those forms (which will then be used in E-Verify)... the one attached to her social security card or to her EAD/AOS?
I have tried the E-Verify self check, but that is no help on any of her "names" since she doesn't have any credit history or anything, so there is not enough to self check her. I've tried contacting all the different agencies and just get spun in circles, as always. So I'm going to try here!
What do you guys think? Anyone gone through this?

Do I need to include the supplemental document listed on VisaJourney explaining why I am leaving? It is not a family emergency or anything, my brother is getting married this summer and I would like to be there. I've seen differing opinions on here whether or not to include it, so I'm split. Part of me wants to, but the other part doesn't want to give USCIS more information than they need (ie, if they see it isn't for a family emergency they deny it).

AP is free so there is no fee to pay. You will apply based on being a I-485 applicant. Include a copy of your NOA1 from the I-485. AP doesn't require biometrics.
Hey guys!
I'm working on applying for AP after already having received the EAD for my wife and I was just curious... Do they send you a whole new combo card?
Is the Form I-797C, Notice of Action all I need to send in a copy of with this application?
I also noticed that on the I-131 they ask to explain how my wife qualifies for AP and what circumstances warrant issuance, to include copies of documents. Is this a big deal? They make it sound really serious. Her brother's wedding is this summer and the way AOS processing is going, we figured better safe than sorry.
Also in regards to this, any advice on whether to check one trip or more than one trip? Does it really matter?
