Another potential option is direct consular filing (DCF) of the I130 with exceptional circumstances. If you have proof of a pending repatriation back to the US, you can request the consulate in Japan process the I130 which is much faster. I am no expert on that process, but what I do know is if you file the I130 with USCIS either online or by mail, DCF is no longer an option, so I would spend time researching that first. I don't think this was a new issue dealing with hot weather. The cooling system for the battery will certainly be a drain, let alone the HVAC system. Probably takes longer to charge since the thermal management system will be working over time to keep the battery cool while charging. On a side note, it has been very pleasant here in the Mid-west this Summer so far. I think we turned the AC on two days so far in July.

The issue with solid electrolyte batteries is how they will perform given the normal vibration and shock inputs from vehicle operations?
