affidavites of personal relationship
Dashinka replied to megaladon's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
It sounds like you are only at the I130 filing stage. You do not need anything more than the marriage certificate for that. You can start to build your marriage and gather evidence as the I130 processes, and when the NVC stage and the interview comes around, upload it and/or take it to the interview where the bonafides of the marriage will be determined. You can add affidavits at that point,, but again, poor evidence as they are just opinions of others, but you can include them. Good Luck! -
affidavites of personal relationship
Dashinka replied to megaladon's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Overall, affidavits are a last resort from an evidence standpoint. Depending on how strong your primary evidence is, I probably wouldn't bother with them. However if using them, 2-3 should be sufficient, and they should be notarized. Good Luck! -
It is a good start to study the AOS process very closely. Fill out the forms (I485/I765/I131/I864), double and triple check everything you put on the forms, and make copies of everything you submit to USCIS. Send in the package as soon as you have all the required evidence. You can bring more relationship/marriage evidence to the interview. Good Luck!

Dashinka replied to Roul's topic in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
I believe this depends on whether or not the company you work for is willing to sponsor you for a transfer from an L1B (I assume this is your status based on your OP) to an EB2 immigrant visa. https://www.nnuimmigration.com/l1-visa-to-green-card/ -
Does Maduro need a vote for this? Almost seems this belongs in the Biden Tanking America thread, but I suppose it is separate enough. Here is a little more analysis. Venezuela exploits Biden's weakness Biden can share the blame. Brazil's far-left President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva talks often about human rights and anti-imperialism, but his military intervention in Guyana's defense is unlikely. He has made only a token military deployment to Guyana's border. One can hardly blame Maduro for his cockiness. He knows that if America were to act alone against him, he could scream "Yankee aggression!" Biden's leadership on Ukraine has been somewhat praiseworthy, as has his bolstering of U.S. alliances against communist China. But he has also shown repeated willingness to blink when faced with other foreign policy threats. He has refused to provide Ukraine with weapons it needs. He chaotically abandoned Afghanistan to the Taliban and its al Qaeda allies, ludicrously claiming that retaining a small residual force that took few casualties was too high a price to pay. He has scrambled to restore the flawed Iran nuclear deal, tolerating repeated terrorist plots so as to keep talks bubbling. And Maduro cannot but notice what's happening right now in the Middle East, where Iran's proxies fire missiles, explosive-laden drones, and rockets at U.S. warships and bases, and Biden responds only minimally. Biden is right to avoid a broader regional conflagration, but the president's timidity encourages Iran to believe it can act with impunity. It makes a broader war more likely, not less. It makes Maduro more confident, not less, that intimidation will pay dividends. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/editorials/venezuela-exploits-bidens-weakness

But, but, but where is the evidence. The Sgt. Schultz routine is starting to crumble. A Short History Of Joe’s Long Record Of Lying About Biden Inc. As evidence of the president’s lies about his family’s influence-peddling business mounted, “fact-checkers” and the media began struggling to calibrate their defenses to correspond with the fresh information. While at first there had been “no evidence” that Biden knew anything — to say differently, was to peddle misinformation — suddenly there was “no evidence” that Biden had personally benefited from Hunter’s scheming (as if enriching your entire family wasn’t personal). And this is when the partisan defenses of Joe began to see a dramatic decline in quality. One of my favorites was The Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson, who was not alone, arguing: “We know how important family is to the president. So, do you hang up on your son?” It was probably familial love that induced James Biden to write brother Joe a personal check for $200,000, that — by complete happenstance – was the exact amount James had received from the failed Americore family venture on that very same day. Talk about crazy coincidences. https://thefederalist.com/2023/12/05/a-short-history-of-joes-long-record-of-lying-about-biden-inc/

I guess the Sierra Club, and NRDC are so yesterday. Progress? Green Groups Are No Longer Promoting a Cleaner Environment Green groups are supposed to be about keeping our rivers, lakes and streams clean. They are supposed to be about fighting litter and keeping toxic chemicals out of the air. Their job is to maintain the beauty of our national parks and save elephants and tigers. Not anymore. The New York Times recently reported in a disturbing headline: "Environmental Groups Cut Programs as Funding Shifts to Climate Change." In other words, the Left's climate change hysteria and its campaign to end fossil fuels is interfering with a commonsense green agenda. Worse than that, the climate agenda is in some ways making the condition of the environment worse. According to the Times story: "A significant shift in donor contributions to nonprofits fighting climate change in recent years has left some of the nation's biggest environmental organizations facing critical shortfalls in programs on toxic chemicals, radioactive contamination and wildlife protection." The Natural Resources Defense Council, "the Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife and the Environmental Working Group, which have been at the forefront of efforts to clean up waste water, regulate pesticides and adopt tougher standards for atomic power plants, are facing similar financial problems," said Times reporter Ralph Vartabedian. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2023/12/05/green_groups_are_no_longer_promoting_a_cleaner_environment_150149.html

Apparently, there are presidents of some supposedly prestigious universities that are willing to fall on the progressivism sword. It seems they thing the genocide needs to occur before it violates their university's codes of conduct. Mindboggling. 'Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.' Calling for genocide of Jews doesn’t violate school policy, university presidents tell Congress Pressed by lawmakers Wednesday, presidents of three top universities all refused to say that calling for the genocide of Jews was inherently a violation of their campus policies on harassment and bullying. The presidents of Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who have come under scrutiny for their responses to antisemitic incidents on their campuses, testified about antisemitism on their campuses before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce yesterday. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) pressed each leader on whether calls for Jewish genocide — which she said were embodied in “intifada” chants heard on campuses across the country — violated their schools’ policies. None of the three presidents offered a direct or affirmative answer. “If the speech turns into conduct, it can be harassment, yes,” Penn president Liz Magill said. “It is a context dependent decision.” https://jewishinsider.com/2023/12/calling-for-genocide-of-jews-doesnt-violate-school-policy-university-presidents-tell-congress/

Not sure what you mean about skipping this. You and your wife have children, they need to be listed on the N400 form, and evidence showing your parental relationship which is usually a birth certificate if a natural child.

I see this now after reading it on the U.S. Embassy website for Cambodia. Seems funny it is not acceptable, maybe try going back to the U.S. Embassy there if you are still in country. You may want to hit the “Report” button on your OP and request a moderator move this to the proper regional forum to get more relevant responses. Good Luck! The U.S. Embassy can certify U.S. passport copies and notarize affidavits of single status. None of the other documents required by the MFA can be certified by the U.S. Embassy. The MFA has assured the U.S. Embassy that it will accept marriage applications in which only the passport copies and affidavits of single status have been certified. https://kh.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/additional-resources-u-s-citizens/getting-married-in-cambodia/ https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/90-asia-east-and-pacific/ Just a guess, but I assume they are planning to marry in Cambodia.

Sen. Bob Menendez indicted on bribery charges
Dashinka replied to yuna628's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
George Santos has found a new job, and John Fetterman decided to hire him. John Fetterman Pays George Santos To Burn Bob Menendez In Most Fitting Way Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) recruited former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) to rip Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) on Monday. Fetterman paid Santos to film a message for “Bobby from Jersey” on Cameo. Santos has turned to selling personalized videos on the platform following his expulsion last week from Congress after an ethics report accused him of using campaign cash to pay for Botox, content on OnlyFans and more. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/john-fetterman-pays-george-santos-to-burn-bob-menendez-in-most-fitting-way/ar-AA1l14ng -

Another related to how the cost of insurance for an EV will most assuredly skyrocket. Why Repairing Your EV Is So Expensive When Scott MacFiggen’s neighbor backed into his Rivian R1T pickup truck last summer, the vehicle was left with a dent the size of a bowling ball under a rear taillamp. MacFiggen was expecting a couple-thousand-dollar bill from the repair shop and to be without his truck for a couple of weeks. “I guess I was a little naive,” said the 51-year-old San Francisco resident. The actual bill came to $22,000, and the vehicle took 2½ months to fix. For EVs, repairs following a collision can cost thousands of dollars more than their gas-powered counterparts, because the fixes tend to require more replacement parts, the vehicles are more complicated and fewer people do such repairs. While those issues may ease over time, first-time electric owners may be startled by the higher costs and longer wait times. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/news/why-repairing-your-ev-is-so-expensive/ar-AA1kUZ9k

Is the New Online Parole system Corrupt?
Dashinka replied to marigold's topic in Mexico, Latin & South America
I find it difficult to believe that it is rigged. With anecdotal stories, maybe it was related to other things such as improperly filled out forms, or USCIS workload balancing. There are always questions as to what will make the process faster for spousal visas, AOS, N400, etc., but to understand that just by using a lawyer to fill out and submit the forms is faster, there would need to be a more comprehensive study. -
This is only for the I130, not the complete process. As @Boiler, @Crazy Cat, and @powerpuff stated, the process is much more detailed than just getting the I130 approved. To answer your question, no, being here on an F1 will not speed up the I130 process. Once that is approved, you will need to wait out the priority date for an F2A/F2B depending on where you fall.

Did George Santos lie about everything?
Dashinka replied to laylalex's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
I tend to agree, and there is a quite a bit of hypocrisy going on here. Sure, Santos basically enacted his real-life "Producers" plot, but there are several elected representatives that do similar things, set up family members in charity LLCs, etc. in order to siphon off campaign money for personal gain. Then of course there is Menendez. -
I love the double standards the climate change/global warming acolytes use. If a warm weather event occurs it's all global warming and manmade climate change, when a winter weather event occurs it's all 'you cannot equate climate change by a weather event'. What a joke, but the sad thing is some people listen to them.
