  1. Yes, it seems to have backfired n the Western leaders, and from that there is much more reluctance to dumping money and scarce weapons/munitions into Ukraine.
  2. This deserves to be re-emphasized, do not use local agents to fill out the DS160's. You can assist them in filling out the forms, but as I and others have said, these applications are your father's and brother's, and has nothing to do with USCIS.
  3. Very good read, and good analysis. Ukraine Facing Increasingly Unfavorable Odds The Biden administration is therefore correct to warn that without continued and massive U.S. military aid to Ukraine, Russia will quickly win. It is however equally clear that U.S. aid — still less at the levels sustained to date — cannot be guaranteed even in the medium term. Partly due to the new U.S. commitment to Israel created by the Gaza war and the threat of it spreading, the United States is also failing adequately to replenish Ukraine’s dwindling stocks of air-defense missiles, which are crucially important both on the battlefield and in the protection of Ukrainian infrastructure and industry. Both the United States and Europe are failing to meet their targets for increased production of artillery shells, which Russia is firing at some three to five times the Ukrainian rate. And even if the West could vastly increase its military production (highly doubtful given the pressure on Western budgets, supply chain problems, and skilled labor shortages), we cannot provide Ukraine with more soldiers. Ukrainian manpower shortages are becoming increasingly acute, and are leading to increasingly draconian conscription measures and bitter disputes within the Ukrainian government over how to enforce conscription, which is faltering in the face of growing public resistance. Following the failure of last year’s Ukrainian counteroffensive, the Biden administration and the Ukrainian government and military have all shifted to a defensive strategy, including trying to fortify Ukraine’s long northern border with Russia and Belarus. This region has been quiet since Moscow withdrew its troops in the spring for 2022, after the failure of its initial invasion from the north. However, Russia’s growing advantage in numbers means that at some point in future, its army may be able to attack again along this front. While smart, and even if successful in the short term, a strategy of standing indefinitely on the defensive has two colossal disadvantages for Ukraine. Politically, it brings with it the obvious implication that Russia will go on holding the areas it now controls. This being so, more and more Ukrainians and Westerners will obviously begin to call for a compromise peace. The danger is that if we leave this too long, the balance will have shifted so decisively against Ukraine that Russia will have few incentives left to compromise. https://responsiblestatecraft.org/russia-ukraine-peace/
  4. Seems more to be a product of Leftist/Democrat criminal justice policies, but whatever makes you happy.
  5. Visitor visa (B2j applications are handled directly by the consulate. Your father and your brother would each fill out their own DS160 pay the fee, and wait for their own interviews at the US consulate in Lagos. Current wait times for a B2 interview are quite long in Lagos. Good Luck! https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/wait-times.html?post=Nigeria&x=65&y=11 https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html
  6. The only instructions I know are the link below with the I94 discussed at the top of page 5. Good Luck! https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-130instr.pdf
  7. Then ideally when the petition is approved and it moves to NVC it should be classified correctly and the visa should be for an immediate relative. If for some reason that does not happen, then contact NVC and have them make the correction to IR2. Good Luck!
  8. The link to the visa bulletin has been posted, but here it is again. You can also type "visa bulletin" in your favorite search engine. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Bulletins/visabulletin_January2024.pdf
  9. Nope, we are saying the same thing. You may want to ask the lawyer what the estimated timelines are for all of them? This is what we are saying is different between the different classes of visas they will eventually apply for. I assume USC since an LPR cannot petition for parents.
  10. Does your company employ the services of a travel agency? In my case, if I need to travel overseas for business where a visa is required we have a travel agency that handles everything. They will have the list of required documents necessary, but they probably will not help if this is purely a personal B2 application.
  11. No difference. From an immigration perspective, parents are considered immediate relatives, siblings (half or full) are family preference (note, I understand that you think of your half-brother as an immediate relative, but US immigration does not). In your case filing the I130 for your parents (IR5 visa) will follow one timeline (approximately 1-2 years) and your half-brother (F4 visa) will follow a completely separate timeline (15+ years depending on the country). There is no numerical limitation on visas for immediate relatives, but there are for family preference so they take longer due to a huge backlog of petitions. I included the link for the visa bulletin so you can see the amount of time it takes for an F4 visa. As others have stated, you can file the I130's for all your relatives, and your parents will get their visa's first, then when they come to the US and become LPRs, they can also file their own I130 for your half-brother under the F2A or F2B category depending on his age when the I130 they file is approved. Another idea is to file for one of your parents, and then they come and file the I130's for their spouse and their child. Good Luck! https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Bulletins/visabulletin_January2024.pdf
  12. So you have legal residency in Morocco? If so, follow what @Crazy Cat stated, contact the consulate where it is at, and update them of your current residency.
  13. Sounds good. I edited my response after your response. I would go through your company if there is a business reason for you to travel, if not, there is not much else you can do until you get your Canadian citizenship or the consulate finalizes this application. Good Luck!
  14. Will they issue a visa in a passport that has less than six month validity? Additionally, if your company is as you say, don't they have a service to do visas? I know when I need a visa for work travel, I can use the company service, and they take care of everything. Now they cannot expedite anything, but they are usually pretty good at laying out the exact business purpose for the B1, and showing the need for you to not overstay.
  15. Thought this was interesting in that it showed that interest on the national debt is in 4th place on the federal spending table just 2% less than Defense spending. With the exponentially expanding national debt, I suspect that may change quite quickly. The future of Bidenomics: You pay Social Security tax on all of your income? On the opposite side of the ledger, we run an annual fiscal deficit of roughly $1.8 trillion and here are the top four expenses. Medicare/Medicaid (24% of spending) Social Security (22% of spending) Defense (13% of spending) Net Interest on the Debt (11% of spending) https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/future-bidenomics-you-pay-social-security-tax-all-your-income
  16. If you do not abuse your B2, you can still visit. As to your number 2, unless you are currently in the US, consular processing is your only option. Good Luck!
  17. Thinking about this further, as long as she has the proper documents to enter Tajikistan she should be fine with the US consulate there. Good Luck!
  18. Seems like a fairly comprehensive list. Good Luck!
  19. Correct I believe the I130 will result in an IR2 visa for your step-son. Not entirely certain, but I believe children over the age of 14 are required to attend an interview. This is more of a legal custody question. I would defer to your lawyer handling custody documents, and if they believe everything is in order, he should be fine. Good Luck! https://www.uscis.gov/adoption/immigration-through-adoption/family-based-petition-process/immigration-adoption-and-citizenship-for-stepchildren-of-us-citizens-and-lprs
  20. Honestly, I could not care less about Hillary Clinton, but I do love that the favored fact-checker of FB/Meta felt the need to fact check this. Video is evidence that Hillary Clinton is a reptile. This is not the first time such a claim has surfaced. In 2009, Richard Heene, who fabricated a story that his son had floated away in a UFO-shaped balloon, also made false statements about Clinton being reptilian. Claims that high-profile people are reptilian are unfounded and part of a long-running conspiracy theory. PolitiFact has debunked similar claims about President Joe Biden, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and Queen Elizabeth II after her death in 2022. We rate the claim that video is evidence that Clinton is a reptile Pants on Fire! https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2023/dec/21/instagram-posts/this-video-does-not-prove-that-hillary-clinton-is/
  21. Have her show the GC, but keep the NOA from the I131 in case CBP asks her anything. A lot of GC holders apply for a re-entry permit and their plan change and they come back to the US prior to the REP being approved. She should have no issues. Good Luck!
  22. I am going to report this thread and ask a moderator to move it to the Russia/Ukraine/Belarus regional forum as you may get more answers there. As to the point, I think she should be fine, but I am not certain. Good Luck!
  23. This is probably why the consulate and CBP has the note about having a child after the visa is issued but before immigrating to the US. Essentially, this should be a reason for DCF if the child does not qualify for CRBA as in this case, but they are saying no visa is needed when this happens if the newborn is traveling with the parent that has a valid visa, and the birth certificate verifies the parenthood, so no I130 is needed, and no special circumstance required.
  24. I agree now with @carmel34 and @Boiler, if this petition was denied due to an AWA issue, a lawyer is needed for the spousal visa.
