kalendarium got a reaction from tomigaoka in Update: Card production after terminated petition, hopefully reopened?!
    Hi all,
I know the title does not make a lot of sense, but it does not altogether: we filed for ROC in 12/2015, biometrics a year later, received a RFE half a year after that and never heard back until 2019 for an interview appointment.
We could not make the interview appointment due to sickness and then our case was terminated. We asked to reopen the case because we did not abandon our petition and had proof that we contacted USCIS for a new interview appointment.
We checked back with them 1 month ago, and were told that there is no news on our case.
Now we received an update to our case online (only for our receipt notice, it is not visible in myuscis) that the card is in production.
can anyone make sense of it?
There had been various miscommunication and processual error on USCIS side and we had been superpatient throughout it all.
We still cant believe it is really happening and after 5 years of marriage and an long expired green card this shtick will be over?!
    thanks for reading!
To all the people who are waiting only a couple of months, years, really, be a bit patient. People clog up the contact center lines for miniscule, tiny stuff, which could be resolved if they waited three days. Really, it could be worse, hang in there!

    Infopass should be done first.
    service request is largely useless.
    ombudsman takes about three months.

OP, sorry to hear that you are going through this

I suggest calling USCIS and speaking to a Supervisor...be pleasant on the phone and you won't get push back from the Level 1 rep.
Also, I am certain that, as their automated message states prior to a live agent comes on the phone, ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED FOR QUALITY PURPOSES. If you called, they would have your recording.....mention that to the Supervisor as well.

    Monday is Federal holiday.

Involve your congressman or senator’s immigration aide.

Oh, darn it....you are correct, another one of those Monday holidays.

When we were stuck in the ROC shuffle, though not nearly as nasty or protracted as it is now, I tried to enlist the aid of one the Fed. senators's immigration liaison staffers, with little apparent effect. I then contacted the CISOMB, applied for their help. I am not totally sure that it help much. But one week after getting the acknowledgement letter for CISOMB that they would review our case, I received a RFE from the USCIS Service Center (CSC). Call it coincidental? Dunno, except it was coming after about close to a year since we had heard anything in response to our inquiries from the CSC? I kept CISOMB in the loop in all of my follow-up correspondence with the CSC, laying the groundwork for our planned rebuttal to a possible denial, or whatever else nonsense they wanted to throw our way.  Wasn't needed, my family got their conditions removed and GCs in about a month.

The current protracted wait times for processing are abysmal, and just to think they paid good hard-earned money for this type of "service."

Thanks for keeping us on the straight and narrow....

Go to an infopass as soon as possible.
Still potentially a waste of time, but less so than dealing with the T2 clowns on the phone, and at least you can ask for a supervisor in person and push to get it resolved.

Worst case, you file a fresh I-751. Not the end of the world.

Contact your US Representative and/or ombudsman.  This needs attention.  April/May 2018 are getting approved.

If you get nowhere with the T2 IO, suggest that you pull out all of the stops and contact the CISOMB and open up a case with them. The way you were treated was truly abysmal. https://www.dhs.gov/topic/cis-ombudsman . Additionally, I depending on how the first two suggestions pan out, consider contacting your Federal-elected Senators and/or Representatives. You can do a Google search for their email addresses. They likely have immigration liaison staffers that can also look into this mess. You need some help, toot sweet.

Good luck on your ongoing immigration saga....

I would suggest calling and asking to be transferred over to a T2 officer (they can actually look into the details of your case)...do not just deal with the customer service person who answers the phone---they won't be able to tell you much.  Ask the T2 if they received your request and if you are inline for an interview to be scheduled.

We see this often - no communication between customer service and field offices.

Never ever reschedule an important appointment with USCIS if you can possibly avoid it (unless you're in a hospital, go to the interview). USCIS has zero communication skills and the customer service is a huge joke. It's called the misinformation line for a reason.

I'm sure you'll get it sorted out in the end, but it will take some time. As you know nothing happens quickly at USCIS.

kalendarium got a reaction from StrawberryKiss in Review: Medical appointment, Frankfurt Germany, March 2014
    hi VJ,
these are my 2 cent regarding my recent medical appointment in frankfurt!
i went there on a monday in march, was there around 10 am and there was just one guy before me, waiting on his final paperwork. the whole visit took about 40 minutes, was extremely laid back, easy and soso-friendly, professional atmosphere.
the doctor's office is in the quiet, pretty westend in frankfurt and if you arrive by car, you will find parking possibilities behind the house.
upon entering you will receive a number with which you will go to upstairs 2nd floor. there you will be handed a document in which you will have to enter any existing illnesses, surgeries, allergies, all medical conditions whatsoever.
after that you will return the document and hand it to the friendly receptionist. she will enter your case no, take your picture, money, vaccination records, pass port and let's you sign a document which enables them to test the fluids etc. that are given to them.
then you will go downstairs (basement, lab). a small vile of blood will be taken, followed up by a urine sample and the thorax x-ray.
then you will go upstairs and present your passport xray dvd, basiscally all the documents you have been carrying around all the time, to the doctor (i was called in exam room, when i finished the last flight of stairs).
she checked my breathing, blood pressure, did an abdominal check, had a short vision test, and then she asked me again if i do drugs, alcohol, or any crimes.
then all was done, she gave me the ds3025 (dont forget to ask for it) and wishes me well.
that was it, you really should not stress about it.
regarding the results, i do not have an idea how that went, just hoping for the best.

best of luck to everyone (it was really simple and straight forward)
