  1. My wife is waiting since May 17, 2022. We are still waiting, and the status shows Ready. They (Casablanca) kept my wife's passport since the first interview 17-May-2022 (more than a year now). My wife was issued a white 221(g) form ALL CASES ARE DIFFERENT
  2. The way I see it: if you don’t fulfill your obligations towards the government, why would you ask for a benefit from the same government? immigration is a benefit. Filling taxes is an obligation
  3. OP: VJ is a community that provides insight and help in US immigration cases around the world. VJ has no way of making decisions in any case, but rather can provide valuable help to resolve issues based on the expertise of some members and the experiences of others. Shopping around for different answers by providing different versions of the story is not going to get you anywhere with your actual process, but it will only get you confusing feedback based on the information you provide every time. I know some members may be looking for hope and comfort by providing different versions of the actual story, but it will not change the outcome of the case, because only the appropriate authorities have a say on the decision. Providing not accurate version of the story might get you the wrong advise
  4. The published date for responding to I quirked is one week right now: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html it is a good sign if the case have been reaffirmed by USCIS and sent back to NVC for processing. but you don’t know if that is the case yet until you get a response from NVC. Good luck
  5. Wait for NVC’s response and then take it from there. once you have clarity on the status of the case, you can get your congressman’s help
  6. What is the last date case was updated? I mean in the ceac status website
  7. Haven’t heard anything yet The consulate has been “touching” the case a lot lately, at least twice a week, but no real progress
  8. I really did not mean to be judgmental or anything, I'm sorry if I came across that way. All I'm saying is, why run the risk of adding unneeded hurdles and risks in the process? you never know what could go wrong if the visa expires and you try to extend it.
  9. The immigration process is already complicated and stressful. It is beyond me why some applicants try to complicate the process more than it is. This is just the frustration of a petitioner whose wife's case has been stuck for more than a year now at the consulate. Option 1 all the way
  10. Take it. Get it done They can issue the visa after the medical is received Take it take it take it take it
  11. Hoping for some mouvement in the next couple of weeks. Case escalated to the department of state by the case worker at the congressman’s office. We’ll see what happens next
  12. The congressional case worker escalated the case today to the department of State, because they are not getting responses to the congressional inquiries. These are the screen shots of a case I was following in Casablanca. The progress is insanely crazy: The case went from Expired to Refused to Nonimmigrant visa Application Received to Approved to Issued.
  13. Take a photo with the phone, with a white background and use the photo tool (https://tsg.phototool.state.gov/photo) to adjust the picture The photo tool clearly explains the requirements
  14. We are waiting for that phone call to ask for the medical. It has been 12 months since the initial medical
  15. From the cases I was tracking (and again, I know all cases are different), all the cases that went to Expiring Soon, ended up being Issued. I guess we will wait for the phone call to ask for the updated medical, or to tell us the next steps. They kept my wife's passport since 17-May-2022 (over a year now)
  16. Also, I noticed that they re-opened the IV application, and the civil docs now say N/A (Civil documents said Accepted before)
  17. ello VJ family. I hope all is well. I know we have seen some crazy things in the immigration world, and I hope some of you can shed some light on this case status update for us: Our case status never changed from Ready. My wife's initial interview was in 17-May-2022. She was given a white 221(g) form for missing documentation. We sent the docs and they were received on 26-May-22. They called my wife for a subsequent interview. The interview was on 21-Feb-2023. They told her all went well and they will contact her. The date last checked was changing frequently, but the status never changed from Ready. The last date last checked was 08-May-2023. Today, the status changed to "Expiring Soon". I know I was tracking some cases in Casablanca and some of them went to "expired" or "Expiring soon" and then ended up being "Issued". These are the last updates on our case: Can anyone make sense of this? I really need some good news here Thank you all
  18. Those are dates shown in ceac as Date Case last updated. We are in the same boat: interview May 17, 2022. Casablanca asked for additional documents. Documents received May 26, 2022 Updates here and there on a monthly basis through February 2023 and then weekly updates since then until last week. Still no real update (the case shows Ready, since it was ready in May 2022) But, every case is different
  19. It should be anytime now. May be tomorrow or Monday. I remember when they scheduled our interview it was mid month (15th of the month)
