Maybe some of us decided to move back our home countries since the process was taking too long?

I thought about moving back to Canada just to be free and forget about the entire process!

    Great to hear that!

I thought it would be "funny" to make an InfoPass appointment (after becoming a US citizen) to return a Green Card!

In fact, it'd be kind of confusing like "What??? You're a US citizen now!!??  And you made an InfoPass appointment for a Green Card!!??"

My wife received the same I797 about a month after her combo interview.  She did not receive a 10 yr GC.

I still have that approval letter too, and I will never receive the 10 year green card obviously, lol

Interestingly, I've just received a letter (I-797 Notice of Action) stating that my request for the removal of condition (I-751) has been approved and I'll receive a Green Card in 60 days!

The date of the notice was 10/22/2018!  I passed the combo interview and my IO approved my I-751 on that date!  I assume that it's a letter stating that they closed my I-751 case!

I hope I don't get my 10-year Green Card by mistake!    Since I'm a US citizen now, I'm not supposed to have a Green Card so I'll need to make an InfoPass appointment to return it if they send it to me!

It's the first time that I don't want to receive a Green Card from USCIS!

Here is my combo interview experience at the Seattle office!

I brought my spouse, but my IO didn't bother interviewing him (who was waiting outside)!     I guess I sent more than enough supporting documents for my I-751 application!

My IO asked me how we met, if my spouse has visited my hometown and met my parents, who usually cooks, who usually manages our finances, if we're thinking about adopting children, etc.!

My IO asked me to show her our joint condo ownership certificate since I told her that we bought a condo 1.5 years ago.    I also showed her our 2017 joint tax return transcript.

For the citizenship part, I scored the first 6 questions correctly!

    - What do we call the first ten amendments of the Constitution?
    - We elect a President for how many years?
    - What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?
    - Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
    - When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?
    - Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States?

My IO asked me to read "George Washington was the first president of the United States." and write "Lincoln was president during the Civil War."

My combo interview took 30 minutes!

Yes, I can still register and vote in person as a new citizen!!!

It's hard to believe since I've dealt with USCIS for a very long time!     I'll have to find something else to occupy my time!

Thank you very much, @Tc123, you have no idea how much learning from members like you, sharing your stories, has brought a lot of hope and support in this process. It took 2 years and 2 months for I-751 approval and on October 24, I had my N-400 interview and was approved. I'm currently waiting for an Oath Ceremony invitation letter. I can't wait to finally close this protracted chapter of my life. Congratulations, @Tc123 on being naturalized, I am very happy for you. All the best of success in everything you do and pursue!

I came in 45 minutes early. They were not kidding, they asked me to come back  after 15 minutes. I did not have to go out, just wait on the new applications waiting room.
My schedule is 10:10. I went up the stairs, turn right. (Left is the oath-takers waiting area). I got interviewed about 11:30. There were people there waiting since 8:30. My wife went up with me. She waited at the waiting area.

Interview, was not what I was expecting. It was text-book interview. Very emotionless. Most of the time was taken by verification of information on the application, and the yes-no questions.
The "English test" took less than 30 seconds. The civics took maybe a minute.

    Questions:
    What is freedom of religion?
Name one state that borders Canada.
What ocean is on the East Coast of the United States?
How many U.S. Senators are there?
    When was the constitution written?
When must all men register for the Selective Service?

After than, I was asked if I wanted to take the oath at 2:30 pm. I said yes. I went out for lunch, went back at 1:30. Went up, turned left, found a sit. At 2:30, they asked families to go down the auditorium to find a sit. They asked the oath-takers to form a line on the left and right, because there were two people who would take the oath-taking schedule form as well as the green card. They also gave the citizen "started pack" as well as a small flag. We went down to the auditorium as soon as they give the packs, and then the star spangled banner. People were called to stand up as soon as they hear their country of origin, and then the oath. As we sat down, we were US citizens. Finally, the pledge of allegiance and the certificate was handed one at a time.

Not my wife’s oath, but rather @AustinCanada ceremony.  When you check in for the oath, they will take any cards (EAD/AP conditional or 10 yr GC) you might have.  In my wife’s case she had her card taken when she got her I551 stamp, so she had an affidavit from the IO that they took.  As far as the I751, that is approved via a NOA and the oath would not have been scheduled unless the I751 was also approved.  With a combo filing, the 10 yr GC should not be produced even if the NOA says it will be.

Congrats! Looked at your timeline, your I751 almost 2.5 years and N400 is almost 1.5 years, that’s very long! That’s a very detail I751 interview. So happy your journey is over and enjoy your life:)
