Sorry to tell you that the God doesn't approve petition or issue visa.
Back to the reality world, to see if you meet the poverty guidelines to sponsor your potential fiancee & step daughter.

I guess that is why they get a pass until they turn 18 and are an adult.
    Similar with the criminal system.
Bearing in mind he could not have been doing things many 18 year old's do, drive, get a job then I think he knew.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust H & R Block or any of them to know what's what with a complicated US/Canada tax situation.

lol. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Take your instruments with you dude. Nobody will ask you or care what happens to them. Sometimes these forums become a fantastic medium of unnecessary stress.

ZERO. There is no duty for a used guitar that you own and intended for your personal use.
Bring your instruments. No need to declare them. No duties.
If you want to declare them, then go ahead. Still no duties. Just make sure you tell them that you are not selling them.

    Hi,
Good thing it's no skin off your back because you are wrong.
    Look at what you posted.
OP is brining his personal item to Texas and leaving them in the safe hands of his wife. He is not selling them. He is not making a gift of them. It's his personal property.
In your CBP link where things must be declared - brining in his personal property and keeping it is not on the list of things that must be declared.
OP is playing by the rules.

People travel with musical instruments all the time.....I don't interpret anything as lying by omission either. If you bring a hair dryer and leave it there on purpose or accidentally no one is going to cry foul either, its not exactly in the same class as 'breaking a major law'. Who do you think will ask you if you left your guitar back in TX? The Canadian border guy on the way back home doesn't have a clue what you left with.
Many times during this immigration process we start overthinking things and make things more complicated. Unless they ask what your plans are with those items, I wouldnt; be concerned...answer truthfully.
I have to respectfully disagree with NLR.

Well, obviously you're not going to say "I'm going to be moving here later, so I'm starting to move some of my stuff now. Is that OK?", are you? Arriving with full sets of dishes or pots and pans, might cause them to suspect you're there to stay--a couple of musical instruments, not so much. And no, no customs fees.

You'll need to have a letter of compliance stating that your car is in compliance with US regs (unless it has a sticker on it somewhere stating that). For insurance, you'll need your driving history from your present insurance company. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much cheaper insurance is here than in Canada. You'll have to take it to a port of entry and see the customs people there to import it. In California, you need to get a state driver's licence within a couple weeks of becoming a resident. Don't know if it's the same for NJ.You might need to take a written and a road test. Once you've done the importing bit, you register your car at the DMV where you'll get your plates.

The purpose of the visa is for you to be with your husband. He can contact immigration and inform them you are no longer together and your visa will no longer be valid. If he sends proof that he has filed for divorce it will also make the visa invalid. Whether he has done this or not is unknown since you are no longer speaking to each other.
Trying to enter with a spousal visa when you are no longer with your spouse would be fraud. Also it is possible you will be turned around when you attempt to enter the US and returned on the next flight.

So basically, you have no interest in being with this guy (understandable, since he is obviously insane), but you want to go to the U.S. anyway? Sounds like you married him for a greencard, which is immigration fraud.
BTW, he doesn't need a lawyer to divorce you, he can do it by himself, and doing so does not require your permission.

"A Troubling Pattern"? The country will be overrun by self-serving liars? You honestly remind me of men's rights activists who freak out over the supposed (read: nonexistent) "epidemic" of false rape claims, when the real epidemic is rape itself. Why is your first instinct to doubt people who say they've been abused? Domestic abuse is a huge problem pretty much the world over. I think you'd be better off minding your own business.

Yes, let's all start pointing fingers at random people without really knowing the full story, and bog down USCIS with even more paperwork and delays to further distract them from working on what they should be working on. Lynch mob mentality is never a good idea for anything.

It is HIGHLY suggested NOT to make solid wedding plans until you get your visa.... My now husband is from Ottawa too and we went the K1 route... and back in 2011 he had to go to Montreal or Toronto for his medical ( he opted for Montreal). Our time from start to finish was 10 months before he had his visa in hand, no RFE's or anything.... it took 5 weeks AFTER his approved interview to get his passport, while others who interviewed on the same day got theirs in 10 days... you just never know, I swear they pull random files and do more extensive processing or there is just one really slow person in Montreal as it seems out of every group somebody has an unusually long wait for no apparent reason. As the poster above said... the sooner you file the better. At best the process takes 8 months... at BEST ....so November seems really to be pushing the limit.
    Good luck on your journey!!!

IF they ask you the purpose of your trip, you could start by saying "pleasure" . If you're asked ANYTHING further, you could say, "I'm getting married and returning to Canada on March 19th when my husband and I will be starting the CR1 process." and have your evidence of ties to Canada handy.

    Oh no... totally wrong!!!
You have already submitted the intent to marry within 90 days letter during the I-129F petition.
So you are aware that K1 visa is not for "get know your fiance/fiancee better, wait and see how it goes"
OP is fine with her honest answer.
