k.dlg reacted to Ketsuban in I-751 September 2016 Filers
I reckon it's where the service centers have different numbers of staff, and even within service centers the staff will have their own work speed. Add that to improper filing and storage (e.g. bringing out the box for Sept 2016 filers before July 2016 filers because July was put in the room first and requires more digging out), you will get wonky processing times. That's totally my own speculation, by the way.

At least she did not ask for $10,000 allowance like Anfisa (90-days fiancee)
Divorce and move on.
Protect yourself from false domestic violence as well.

k.dlg reacted to Prystine in How did you 'Organize' your package?
Since they don't want you to staple anything, I used paper clips to hold the individual forms at the top and then paperclips down the right side for each section that is listed on the cover letter and then just one big binder clip at the top to hold the hole thing together. This way everything was still organized and stayed in its respective area but was easy for them to pull each section out and file it however they wanted once they got it. Worked for us on the K1 & AOS portion and plan to do the same thing for ROC.

k.dlg reacted to A'n'L in Marriage Abroad Affect k1?
Why on earth did you even ask a question when you won't listen to the answers you get? Some embassies even ask for proof of not being married at the K1 interview. This IS a big deal. Low chances of being caught does not make fraudulent and disrespectful behavior ok.

k.dlg reacted to yuna628 in Marriage Abroad Affect k1?
K1 visas are for fiancés to marry in the US. If you are intending to marry and then get married, then you are no longer fiancés but spouses. You would have to withdraw or cancel the K1 and start over with a spousal visa.

k.dlg reacted to B&Z in DV won but i have no address for my Green Card delivery :/
The green card won't be arriving before you do. You have to get here first, then it takes about 120 days (after you arrive or pay the fee - whichever is last) before you'll receive your greencard. Go to Florida, get an apartment, and then pay the green card fee and register your address for the delivery. Or, you can go anywhere. Just keep updating your address with USCIS online and they'll send you your green cards to the place where you live in the United States.
You don't want to be sending your green card to strangers.

k.dlg reacted to Lainie B in British marrying American on tourist visa. Help needed!!!
You could stay in the US, marry now and adjust status, OR leave the US and go through the K-1 visa process, OR leave, marry on the VWP and then leave again and apply for a CR-1. But you cannot enter on the VWP with the intent of marrying and adjusting status.
Is there any particular reason you need to leave the US in 2 months' time?

k.dlg got a reaction from Deleted_Account in Who should write affirdavits of bonafide marriage
We had the same thought. We had the husband of one couple write one affidavit for us, and another really close friend (the wife of another couple) who knows us very well write another. It's probably best to have a little variety with two different people with different last names, addresses, etc.
And I don't think it'd matter that the same person who wrote the affidavit for the original GC write another for the 10 year one.

k.dlg reacted to Cheezees in Can I sue ex-spouse for support under I-864?
The same way you consciously chose not to work, consciously choose to find a job. Fast food and retail are constantly hiring. You've already made more than the 125% in about half a year and still you have the audacity to try to sue someone else to pay your bills?
You are not a case for welfare benefits. Please don't waste your ex's time with frivolous lawsuits because you want to pursue a 2nd tertiary degree with the luxury of time off. If you have the funds to hire a lawyer for this nonsense, then you don't need your ex's financial support. Seriously, you have some nerve!

k.dlg reacted to Caykay1 in Can I sue ex-spouse for support under I-864?
Choosing to go to school shouldn't be your ex problem. "You chose". I don't know what's wrong with this generation. Most people want to feed off people in a bizzare way. No advise here. Good luck.

k.dlg reacted to NigeriaorBust in Can I sue ex-spouse for support under I-864?
If I were your ex I would simply say that you have shown the ability to earn more than that 125% level of income and you are just filing out of vindicitiveness and ask that you get nothing and that you pay for my costs in respnsing to the case .

k.dlg reacted to JFH in How likely am I to be accepted/rejected?
I'm curious as to how a bar is going to prove to the government that there is no one in the entire USA that is able to do that job and that a foreignor must be brought in. A foreignor with convictions, at that. There are plenty of unemployed people in the USA with no convictions who could work behind a bar.
You must be a good bar man for them to go through all the paperwork and thousands in costs to get you behind the bar.

k.dlg reacted to Nich-Nick in London K1. A complete guide. (Do Not Post Questions in Thread)
Wheatley and Nich-Nick have collaborated on this new guide. Because the mods want pinned threads to be for information only, please don't post your individual questions in this thread. Read it carefully and if you don't understand something or have a unique issue then start a new thread with your question. Keep this thread clear of your progress, fears, joys, and frustrations. If anything changes in London, we will add information. The basic guide, once posted, can not be edited by either of us, so read to the end in case there are corrections
Pre-NOA2 Preparation
US Petitioner
Order your IRS Tax Transcript - Tax transcripts are an excellent source of evidence for your I-134 Affidavit of Support. They're certified by the IRS. You only need the most recent one. Start getting the I-134 ready with the supporting documents [e.g. proof of income].London will accept any proof on an I-134 that clearly shows income. Some ways besides a tax return/transcript are employer letter, pay stubs, pension letter, or banks statements showing direct deposits. Pick two. You don’t need to prove income five different ways. If you have a new job or earn more income since your tax return, then an employer letter and recent pay stubs are a better choice than a weak tax return. This one has to be sent the old-fashioned way with a “wet” signature on it. Copies of the form aren't accepted, but your proof of income can be scans or photocopies. London does not typically want to see relationship evidence. In the majority of cases they haven't asked for it. If it gives you peace of mind, get some photos printed but don't panic over it at all. Nor do they want to see your NOA2 or a photocopy of the I-129F packet– what do you think they have in front of them? UK Beneficiary
Go get your photos done. You're going to need 2x UK size and 1x US size. The two UK size photos are for your Medical and for your Police Certificate. Your US size one is for the Embassy – no longer do you need 2 of them, only one as they scan them in digitally. US size photos can be done at most photo booths at a cost of around £7 for 4 photos.
Go to your NHS doctor and get the immunizations you will need for Adjustment of Status. You can get a K1 visa without having any shots, but you will need them before AOS. It’s extremely wise to take care of it before getting to the US so you can avoid civil surgeon hassles and $$$. Many NHS doctors will do them for free, but they are not obligated to do so for immigration purposes. Get the shots documented by your doctor to take to your visa medical exam. If your doctor should say you don’t need something on this list, remember you have to go by US rules and that differs from UK standards. Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age: Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS also. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster. MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical. Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. Influenza – Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed. The list on the London embassy website is out of date since 2009. Don’t follow it.
Get all your documents together. Here is a link to London’s list of required documents. Be sure to click any links that say “please follow this link for more information” or you may miss details particular to you. Below are some links on how to get these documents or replacements of them:
Police Certificate
Birth, Marriage and Divorce Certificates
Military Records
Finally, make sure your passport is in order – You need to make sure you have at least 8 months until the expiry date on it, preferably more. If you've damaged it or gotten it wet, or the edges are wrinkled, it will need to be renewed. London is fussy about that. -

There's two pinned threads at the top of the main page for Removing Conditions on Residency here. The first posts of each are very helpful!
I used this as a checklist: http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide
I also made copies of our Driver's Licenses showing we live at the same address. Our two affidavits were also notarized.
I would also recommend skimming through other monthly threads for other ideas on what to include.
