  1. I've been hearing that Nebraska is processing I-30's in about five months. Our five months were up Jan 18 (yeah, Aug 18 filers/Nebraska). I haven't heard anything from them yet. I'm so excited and nervous and scared. I'm wondering if they could possibly issue a RFE this far into it. And why when I go to "check my status" does it still say "We received your petition on Aug 18 blah, blah, blah..." Is there a more accurate site? This is nerve racking. We were denied at the I-29 fiancé interview and I want this to go quickly yet as we get closer and closer to interview time I get anxiety and am so fearful because of our first disappointing experience.

  2. I know right!! My such a blessing☺️.... Now the wait for case to be received and processed at NVC begins.

I have been working at my place of employment for so long- I do not have my employment letter... I guess I could request a copy- but I doubt they would have the original

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding this post but you said you thought they won't have the "original employment" letter. All you need is a current letter on company letterhead stating you work there and for how long you've worked there, your position and salary.
  3. The embassy can not revoke a petition, they can only recommend that it be revoked. I believe that is why it says it is still pending.... until it is officially revoked. But the K1 is usually just sent back and left to expire. If you want your senator and/or congressman to get involved you must act quickly before it gets sent back. Some people have been able to get second interviews. Hopefully other members will reply and tell you more information on what your options are at this point. Lagos can be tough. We had our K1 denied too so we got married and applied for a CR-1. Best wishes.

  4. Nope take both passports when you travel.

Do you think they'll make a big deal about the passports being in two different names when I arrive in Lagos and go through airport customs? And do you think they'll use it to scare me into giving them money to let me in (i've seen them do that to other people over some other stuff)?
  5. Well if things continue on trend hopefully my fiance will be here in NOV. People there think snow is beautiful and all that but they get cold when its like 73deg. So I"m just like, ....just wait you'll see when you shovel and slip on the ice. Maybe we'll check out the ice skating rink in the mall back home.

My husband keeps saying he'll love winter but gets cold in the 70's too! Lol. Missouri can get bitter cold.

I also want to take him to a huge buffet to sample different foods. Then I'll know better how to grocery shop and what to cook.

  6. Hello. I read your previous post when you asked about visiting Nigeria and were given great advice. So now you are very close to leaving. You must be very excited. I just want to tell you about registering online with STEP

    http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/go/step.html

I also want to tell you that returning home you must get to the airport very early. On my last visit my flight home was at about 10pm and I arrived there about 7pm. I was not allowed to go through the boarding process. Even after going upstairs and pleading with them. They said I should have been there at 5 pm. So I had to change my ticket and pay a cost difference and return the next day. So be there early and allow for the terrible traffic. Maybe no one else has experienced this but it happened to me. Have a ton of fun and take a bazillion photos.

  7. After seven months at NVC and 101 days on supervisor review, we are finally seeing some action on our case, after involving our Texas Senator. Our case was moved from the idiot supervisor handling our case to the "Senator review team" on Sept 24th. I've heard from others that a Senator review usually takes about two weeks. We are hoping and praying that'll be the case for us too, which means we should hear something on Thursday. We've had such a long, hard struggle at NVC, really feel like we need something positive now so please pray for us.

Will do. Best wishes. Keep us posted.
  8. They are mostly concerned about your current income. If it exceeds the guideline amount you are not required to fill out part 7. It's optional. But if you think it will be beneficial to you, you can. Mostly they will look at your most recent tax transcript and your letter of employment.

For 2012 I would list your income in the box, provide proof, and a letter explainig you weren't required to file that year. I'm not sure if you check the box. I'm going to say no. Don't check the box.
