Money in the bank and land IMO doesn't prove much in ties to a country. If Philippines had a work force that got paid more than here in the US, having money in the bank and land here wouldn't stop me from staying and working their. I can easily move my money and sell the land from another country. Unless you're talking like a million, I think being married is one of the best things to prove ties. Also if you have a job making say 36k a year in Philippines, why would you move? Even with a ton of money and being married, I think chances are not great but you pass the 1 in a million category. I've got a buddy who had money in bank, owned his house in land out right and was married. His wife and him got denied tourist visa for their honeymoon. They thought an invite letter made it a sure thing, unfortunately the embassy will often not even look at that as it means nothing at the end of the day.

Because his ties will always be stronger to the U.S. on paper. A tourist visa is incredibly hard to obtain in a lot of countries. I honestly don't know why they even make it an option if they deny so many.

IMO your possible fiance wouldn't be your fiance if she had what was required to get a tourist visa for the US. If you like playing the lottery, then chances are probably similar. I had a friend of mine who tried, he has his own house, he makes enough money that I would even live in the Philippines with what he earns, but he still got denied. If she owns land, has 10k plus in bank account, and is married then you may be more like 1 in 50 or 100 chances. Eventually I plan on trying with my sister-in-law, who meets all the criteria I listed but I haven't because I know most likely I am just throwing away the money. Good luck in whatever you decide, I think what you want is very reasonable and a smart way to make sure things will work. The US government, however, doesn't.

I agree with Gowon you are being a little extreme in your pursuit to find out what she's up to. The relationship is over, don't waste time trying to fix it just move on. It's nearly impossible to prove she married you with no intention to stay with you. Being married only 10 months will make it very hard for her to adjust her status. Any relationship comes with the risk of ending, you just have to do your best to avoid it. File for divorce and head back to Philippines for the next one.. I'll give you some advice that usually fall on deaf ears, the less you care the more the girl will want you. I feel like you should have a minimum of 100 relationships before you consider getting married, I feel like you fell short of that number. I personally would stay away from craigslist, that's not a huge step up from getting a bar girl. Think outside the box for finding a good girl in Philippines. Realize that there culture doesn't frown that badly on bar girls which is the most degrading thing I've seen in my life. I've met many thai and pinay here in the US that would never in a million years work as a bar girl in there own country but yet are shaking their @ss on stage at a strip club here cuz it's not that bad in comparison. You're single and free again right now, enjoy it!

If you've never had sex you should be able to get an annulment. Divorce sucks. I agree with the popular opinion, it is over and sounds like it never was there to begin with. It will all work out for the best just stay positive, there's a lot of fish in the ocean...

I wouldn't be too nervous, that is a pretty long layover time. Just be early for your first flight and you should be fine. Any problems are out of your control so try not to worry about it. In general there isn't security checks at connecting flights but depending how the airport is laid out that might not be true. My connecting flight in Japan once they had us get off the plane go through security(very fast not like here in the US) and then re-board the same plane at another gate. My fiance had someone helping that she met on the plane, most people are helpful when traveling. Don't be nervous about the flight though, it's just like getting in a big taxi. I know it's hard sometimes, I use to never worry but then I went a day early to a flight once and realized how easy it is to make a mistake in the process. I suppose a day early is better than a day late, although it cost me $2500 to upgrade to first class the only available ticket and the original flight was $150... I should have waited but I'm not very patient. Good luck!

It might be hairism, but racism would be a far far stretch. I personally think you are over playing the race card, I wouldn't notice how a nurse was acting with someone else before they got to me because I could care less about the person anyways. You shouldn't let stuff get to you, especially when it's essentially an employee, the nurse is working for you. I don't really get why people care about racism, you're not going to be friends with someone who is racist unless you have the same views, so who cares what a stranger thinks? The US is one of the least racist countries in the world, every other country I have been to not only discriminate by race, but also the country as if one type of Asian or Latin is better than the other. We'll all be mixed someday it's only a matter of time.

It's not the end of the world. and you can love the kid like it is your own. If you still love each other I would keep trying. Don't worry about the green card and visa stuff that will work itself out you shouldn't base your decisions on that. I personally would adopt the kid and get the other guy out of the picture ASAP. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I don't really understand why you would have kids if you planned to just send them away. I'm sure the kids would appreciate you struggling to keep them more than being sent to live in another country. I've seen others send their kids for long vacations or whatever, I just think it's the start of a dysfunctional family which will inevitably rip apart. There are so many programs to help struggling families in our country, why don't you try to use some of them so it isn't just dead beat ghetto losers sucking up all the tax money. I hope you think long and hard, there's so many ways to make money it's such an easy obstacle to over come.

Full time work is full time work, a lot of people work many different jobs. I would just tell them he is full time employee at interview, but they probably won't ask. My fiance wasn't asked a thing about my work or employment. The interview is very simple, just stay positive and bring lots of info with you just in case. I think the key is to push that your fiance is a hard worker and will find a job and always have, it will help if you can support that with evidence. Just stay positive and keep moving forward.

What about living with him for a couple years? England isn't so bad. Maybe you could be a dentist, I'm guessing they don't need school there.. ha ha. Ok joking aside, it sucks the situation you are in, especially with pot being legal in some states anyway. You can receive all the benefits you want, it is him that can't. The co-sponsor would be sponsoring him, and essentially he couldn't get benefits or would possibly be punished in some way if he did. Does your fiance not have a tourist visa?

Dude talk to an attorney, you are wasting time getting 50 different answers. Your situation is not that rare, but there are so many what if's that you should discuss with a lawyer. Not a bunch of people on a forum that don't have a clue. I would ask questions about your job, I'm not sure if your SSN will get red flagged but a lawyer might know. I know every year I did taxes anyone who had a bad SSN got red flagged and if they didn't give me the correct number I had to let them go. That may be important for you. I would bet the farm that in your situation they don't make you leave the country, so I certainly wouldn't do it if I were in your shoes. But if your ex got mad and tried to cause problems, who knows then. Your location might matter too, lots of things to consider. Most attorneys will consult for free the first meeting. If they tell you what they would do then you could come here and ask how to do it. Best thing for you to do is be a good citizen, work and pay taxes.

Yeah I agree, why the heck are you looking at the ex's facebook anyway. Seems a little crazy in my opinion. Also it seems very odd that you just happen to be about to marry someone with an ex from the same town in the US. Not filing for AOS is also not a crime, it's not even that abnormal. My wife and I haven't filed for AOS, neither of us care much about it. You have to get married within 90 days, it never said you had to file AOS in any certain time. Personally I think your story is a huge red flag and I myself would be a bit worried.

Yeah with all my posts I'm sure I'm trolling. Don't be mad because I struck a nerve... I just am posting an observation I found with meeting a couple pinay recently here on K1's. Maybe someone will benefit for thinking or asking more about what warning signs could be. Niblet came with a very reasonable response that certainly makes sense, and if you were to pick a working girl from any country you'd probably have the best chances with Philippines. Maybe if I form a friendship with any of these guys that have married obvious bar girls I will be able to ask them why, and maybe they will have an answer like Niblet. Or maybe they will never talk to me again... ha ha.
