Mateo&Raquel reacted to We Are The Art in fiance visa, why is it taking so long?
"how long does it usually takes? they told me 5 months? everyone keeps telling me to be patient and wait...but it has already been 6mths, they told me i might wait another 2-3 months just so it can be approved, then of course by the time he has his interview and all it might be a YEAR "
So, why the sudden and unexpected change in normal/average processing times?
When I called USCIS to inquire about the delay (which the USCIS itself recommends if/when your application runs beyond the normal/average time of 5 months) I was told the delay was due to "higher than expected numbers of applicants" overwhelming the system. I am certain this overflow is directly connected to the "executive order" issued by Obama in June of this year (Google it) which grants "children" ("children" up to 30 years old!) of illegal aliens exemption from deportation under existing immigration law. (When you call USCIS the pre-recorded message you hear even states that there is a "special" department newly established to handle all such applicants expeditously) The latest word from USCIS also indicates they are now transferring thousands of cases (as is evident from numerous recent posts here on VJ) to other offices in order to facilitate this huge influx of applicants, is it any surprise that so many legally filed cases are being unduly delayed? "Immigration Reform" my a** !
We who have filed for our loved one's to enter this country legally, and paid the required fees, and secured all of the necessary documents, and waited so very patiently, and jumped through all of the bureaucratic hoops, and literally placed our very lives at the mercy of a system which strictly dictates whether or not our chosen partners are "worthy" of admittance, are being forced to accept these conditions whether we like it or not! All for the sake of political gain!
Welcome to America!

Mateo&Raquel got a reaction from lillakatoussa in Embassy in Tunisa
The attacks on our embassies had nothing to do with that video. Al Qaeda used the video as an escuse. These attacks were well planned out. Just a few days before the attacks, one of al qaeda's members put out a video asking muslims to retaliate and avenge the death of his brother, another al qaeda operative. The video that everyone is talking about was posted back in January. It is now September. If they are so hurt about this film, then why did they wait over 8 months to start complaining? I believe it was our "leaders" who started this one. All the bragging about killing osama bin laden has come back to bite the president in the butt. If that is not the case, then why were all the muslims who were climbing the walls of our embassies, and burning our flag, chanting, "WE ARE ALL OSAMAS, OBAMA..WE ARE ALL OSAMAS, OBAMA..." repeating over and over?? Don't get me wrong. I am NOT saying that the people of theses countries are all like that. Im just saying that they were stirred up by al qaeda. But one thing should always be remembered..AMERICA IS A FREE NATION..IF A MUSLIM WANTS TO COME TO AMERICA AND TRASH TALK CHRISTIANS,LIKE MYSELF, THEN THAT IS THEIR RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH..YOU DONT SEE REAL CHRISTIANS BURNING THE FLAG OF ILSAM AND KILLING MUSLIM PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY DONT AGREE WITH US... With all that said, I do seriously hope that anyone with interviews ,at any one of these embassies, is taken care of and not punished by the results of the attacks. May God be with you all.

Well, you have all the right to blame obama. He has made this process much more difficult for everyone. But what can I say, when you have "obama koolaide" drinkers on this site, you will probably be called a racist before its all said and done. Why don't some of you watch the news? Just last week, an employee for the USCIS, working at Vermont, resigned due to an on going investigation that discovered she, and others at USCIS, are using our hard earned money that we pay for these processes, and our tax dollars, for their own "sexual escapades." Also, Secretary of DHS, Janet Napolitano, stated in a press conference that the number one priority of the USCIS, right now, is protected status of Syrian nationals here in the US, and that other visa situations can and may be slowed down or halted for this. This is to protect the Syrians who are here, and not force them to go back to their own country when their visas expire, while they are in the midst of war. Well, I did some homework, and I have discovered that Vermont is the Center dealing with the Syrians. Also, secretary Napaoliatano was asked about other visa processes, dealing with US Citizens of family of, and her statement was as follows, and I quote:
"I really don't care at the moment. We need to show Syria that we have their back and will help them in this time of desperation. President Obama gives me the power to do what I want to do. This is what I want to do, what America wants to do, and what I am Doing!"
So those of you who are dogging the OP for blaming obama, you all need to get off his back and do your own research before ridiculing him. So OP, I have your back, and I completely understand and agree with you. You are not alone here. I hope and pray you will hear something soon.
GOD BLESS!!!
PS> For anyone trying to blame PRESIDENT BUSH.... I have lived in Peru with my fiancee and her family in the past..I have personally watched the American Dollar deteriorate before my very own eyes while obama has been is office. When President Bush left office, $50 American Dollars equaled to 577.26 Peruvian Soles ...Now, after obama has been in office, $50 American Dollars equals to 130.62 Soles. You people do the math. Also, I have had several Peruvians ask me why Bush cannot be President again...their economy was booming and their poverty rate was going down when Bush was in office. Now they are declining fast. I have seen this first hand, so don't tell me that I have no clue as to what I am talking about.
Sorry for going off topic.

As for the OP.....Sorry about my above rant..I promise not to hijack your thread hehe...This process is really hard on relationships, but stay strong and keep faith...When talking to my fiancee about our visa, I find it better to keep the subject short and not bring it up too much..it helps keep the mind off of it and not cause strain or worry. We've only been waiting 3 months now. I know your wait has been longer, but any time apart is rough..one day away from my Raquel feels like a year to me. As stated before..both centers have ups and downs...lets just keep faith and hope we get on the upside of things before too long..Im sure we will. And remeber, as my fiancee always says, "EL AMOR LO PUEDE TODO!" LOVE CAN DO ANYTHING!

Well, if what you are saying is how this whole incident went down, then she could be in serious trouble for filing a false police report. I don't understand how you could have as many witnesses as you do(your brother being at the scene;your familiy knowing about her lieing, then confronting her about the subject) and still be charged with a felony. You cant be branded as a felon if you are found innocent in a court of law. There has to be probable cause when obtaining a warrant for an arrest. Yes, you can still be arrested..probable cause can be the evidence of bruising and/or cuts or scracthes to the skin of the victim..eye witnesses..previous 911 calls..etc. But a felony charge is not going to stick to you unless there is proof of an eye witness that saw you hit her, or evidence of dna or injuries to and on the suspect. Such as skin flakings of the victim under the finger nails of the suspect, swollen hand, busted vessels/bones of suspect due to the blunt force of punching a subject..evidenced of weapon used with dna of victim/prints of suspect...several factors come in to play in order for a felony to stay. Im majoring in Criminial Justice and have also worked volunteer time with the local sheriff office in the past. I cant make a valid say on what will happen, because I cannot look at all factors of this incident, but with your given details, she has no evidence ..only her word..which in this case officially insnt sufficient if there are no wounds or bruises to back up her claim. This could be a case of the foriegner not knowing the law very well and then being taken advantage of by her peers in a tasteless prank by them. Im just being fair and balanced;looking at both sides since all I have is one side to go on. All in all, if you are being honest about what happened, in which I have no reason to doubt, then this case would be thrown out of a court of law. From what you have given, there isnt sufficient evidence for a conviction. If so, then anyone could say whatever and have whoever arrested, charged, booked and put in jail for anything. Thats just not how the system works, or we would all be in jail for something someone said about us that just was not true for just whatever reason. But still, the question remains as to why she will not have the charges dropped if she says it was all a "they put me up to it," senario...?? Your best bet would to be hire an attorney...we here at vj are not a jury and cannot see all the facts to be weighed..we only see your side, which Im not saying is false..but we cant honestly give you an answer without being fair and ballanced..at least I cant...it would be wrong. I hope you can get you situation solved.

OK, So what did the judge say? And yes, it does matter who is around. Your witnesses you claim from 5 weeks ago will be called to testify.
You have been arrested, not convicted. You should already have your date set to return to court.

I hired an attorney for the simple fact I didn't have the time to do all the paperwork worked too much. It was money well spent and recommend that to anybody who might be in the same predicament. All that I can say my wife made it here in 10 months. I think alot of people grab attorney's that don't know the laws like they should and are worthless. Then the petioners are whining on sites like VJ's. I found alot of info on my attorney on Vj. He was simply outstanding!
