She married someone for the GC. Not someone she's in a relationship with. Most likely she's realised (or worried) she wouldn't get her GC approved in the fake relationship so she's trying to convince some guy who DOES like her to do it with her. Easier to fake happiness with someone you actually like.
Agreed!

She is already married and could try to adjust her status here in the US. But why would she go the much more difficult road by getting divorced and marrying her BF? Has anybody ever thought about that? Maybe her actions are very wrong and she's doing everything in the books wrong too ... but I guess she was desperate and realize she did a mistake? I don't know ... just some thoughts I had.

Start what???? You have not stated what you want. Do you want to stay or go home?
Some people in your position will choose to go home and end the immigration process. Others choose to stay. What do you want?????
Wow, your post sound really mean and rude. The OP is seeking some advise about her relationship, how to proceed from here and weighting her options. She doesn't need people like you being so harsh with her when she's going though so much pain.

purplepenguins, your last post may have links helpful to someone.
I'm surprised you work for immigrant causes. What you did in the post immediately preceding your last post was inhuman. You "quoted" a bunch of lies, which should ban you from this list. I hope this was your last post in my topic, because I try to have my topic help others.
Might be a bunch of lies, but all coming out of your mouth! And there is the arrogant personality again, that purplepenguins talked about. No suprise.

I'm not really sure what this was for, I know everything I need. In fact everything in that post was taken directly from the US Embassy in Manila. The part I needed was the military aspect, which just states "Those military members who are not stationed in the Philippines need to produce authorization letter from their officers as well." but my First Sergeant blew it way out of proportion. I was pretty furious today to say the least, but this will hopefully be signed and approved early next week.
Just tried to help. I'm sorry.

He also needs the approval of his commander, if he wants to marry a forgein overseas. Don't forget that, it's really important!
-
my point exactly! it seems as tho the marriage is and was never the reason, it was "AMERICA". When my Ukraine wife did this, she never even attempted to ask me if we should go to counseling, just left. Thankfully her next marriage didnt work out either, and now the ***** is back there, for good.

Well, lets see ...
If the Uncle's 2nd cousin applies for benefits with the PX, to have a PX card,
someone needs to get adopted...
Haha, that's what I was thinking!!!

No, you are misunderstanding what we said. We feel that, under the circumstances you described, you might be perceived by USCIS as if you are finishing for a green card.
The advise is to get a lawyer to be able to face the possibility of USCIS accusing you and denying you for this very reason.
WE did not accuse you of fishing for a green card.... Do you see the difference?
True, you can't sugar coat it. It looks like you're trying really had to get a greencard. Get a good immigration lawyer and lots of strong evidence. Filing twice with 2 different women within a year doesn't look good in the eyes of USCIS. Please be prepared for a rough route including strokes interview.

Hey,
i have one question, if you don't mind how did you get your husband a Florida ID while being here as an overstay? Didn't you have to give them proof, that he lives here?
-
Miew Miew thank you so much! And also andrew and thatgirl2. You guys were actually being very helpful and i appreciate it!!
Very disrespectful. Whatever you say doesn't really matter to me. I sincerely tried to help you like I help others here. Good luck with your petition. That will be last thing I will say to this subject here.

If you are going to be needlessly rude to someone not familar with the site or what questions have already been asked, at least try to make sure your information is correct. Granted the OP could have found the answer with a search, but this is not the first time you have been incorrect in giving out information in the Military Discussion threads.
If you even read the link you provided (which was helpful btw) you would know that the LES isn't always enough, many people on here have had to get an employment record while in the Military. Often called a Proof of service letter, or Statement of Service letter and I've seen people get theirs online, or their Finance Office or even their S1s (I got mine there) depending on branch of service.
So no, your answer was neither polite, helpful nor correct. Often times, the LES has not been enough, many of us have had to provide this 'letter from employer' however, with this being said, the liklihood you need it for the interview is less than for the packets, but to discount it completely and just bring an LES would be at your own risk and at the discretion of your interviewer which differ by location. There have been enough people post in these threads that it was required to tell me to get one AND an LES.
That wasn't the first time I gave an incorrect answer? LoL. u am not perfect. The answers I am providing is based on my completed greencard progress and worked out without any RFE's. so please tell me how I can be incorrect about something I've already done? Now, that's rude. It's incredible how people trying to attack other that are here to help. I provided a link that basically gave them the answer to their question. That's all. Also, if they want more information, and you did say that they don't always do, they send your an RFE and don't deny your petition.
-
That wasn't rude. Everyone else would have told you too, to look through before. It is in this military forum and was last answered in October. It doesn't take much effort to look for the answer before everyone opens as new thread for the SAME question. But anyways, good luck.
-
Please read in this forum, before you ask any questions. Not trying to be rude, but this question has been answered many times. They don't really need a letter from his employer when he's in the military. A current LES should be enough.
-
I think its a real scheme, sorry I mean shame when ppl post weird and random things and then leave the thread hangin. Then to see they have been members for years prior to filing, leaves me wondering.... Things that make you go hummm
True, I just wonder why they can't explain (and maybe help other members out) and get into detail. If it's legal than why not reaching out and helping others?

You can enroll her into DEERS as soon as you have your marriage certificate in your hands.

Thanks everyone for the advice! We've just about got our package ready for posting when we'll start a timeline on here. Good luck everyone
Good luck to you and keep us updated

I don't know why everyone was jumping on AF-Wife for being "mean". Come on.
In my opinion, writing on a message board is not much different from talking to people in real-life. Try to be polite and try to express yourself clearly. In face-to-face conversations this would mean: Don't mumble, face the person, etc. In a written conversation online: Try to use (semi-) correct spelling and punctuation.
Anyway, to the OP: Glad to hear everything is under control. Hope things work out for you guys.
Finally, somebody that understands what I was trying to say. I even got a message from the OP saying he reported me for harassment?!? Thank you. I did not wanna be mean, it was just hard to read because it wasn't in full sentences.
-
LMAO. It's just hard to read people.
PS: I already have my greencard, so I am not jealous. I just don't wanna fill out my timeline. I give people a lot of advice here, I am online everyday. And my thoughts to you was to write in full sentences and make it easier for anybody to read. And I'm not angry, I am very relaxed. You sound quite different using words like 's**** up'. Have a wonderful day.

I would talk to a tax professional (not HR Block). Usually married filing seperate is worse than single. I would say married filin jointly is better..
False. Why would it be worse when you file married but seperate? That makes no sense .... They are just telling the truth. If there's no reason to file jointly then song do it .... But filing as single is a BIG FAT LIE when you're married. And he can get a penalty for that.
-
you could also be the exception. what happens to you may not happen for others.
Happened to me too. We got married 4 weeks after I came to the US under VWP. I don't believe there's a timeframe, that you have to wait until you get married to look better in the eyes of USCIS. If he didn't misrepresented himself at the point of entry, there shouldn't be so much to worry about.
