yes, scan it and save it.
you can fill out the forms but, when it comes to voter's registration, it is easier to do it online. As far as the passport goes, your best bet is to fill out the form, get the pictures and go to the post office. but check out the requirements for a first time passport applicant,

Also,  I recommend to digitalize your certificate of naturalization immediately, before you apply for a passport, this because you have to send the certificate of naturalization (the original) along with the application, it will be returned (altough separate from the passport)

when you walk in, somebody will ask you a few questions (has anything changed since the interview? taken any trips?) they will take your green card and point you to a seat. A welcome and congratulatory video  from the president and maybe you get special speakers to give a speech, oath ceremony where you are going to recite the oath of allegiance then national anthem. After the ceremony there usually are volunteers that are going to give you a voter's registration and passport form. It is a very moving and emotional experience, the culmination of a long road for many.

As for the passport check out this link.https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/passports/passport-processing-updates.html#:~:text=As of December 18%2C 2023,which costs an additional %2460.

    Congratulations.

Will having two last names be a problem when doing the Green Card process?🤔no problem at all. when my wife went through the process she used both surnames as one last name, no hyphenation ( perez martinez). all her documents are like this: first name: Marcela   last name: Perez Martinez
Is being married but having different last names a red flag?🤔 We never changed our last names, only in the way indicated above. She is a citizen now.
    congratulations on your upcoming wedding

You could choose to pay the immigrant visa fee before your travel, once you go through POE, your green card production will take effect, in the meantime you can travel with your endorsed visa.
You do not have to ask for your green card to be activated

No issue at all, your theory is not valid since he is not a citizen yet, he can still travel with his passport and green card

My parents-in-law (in the US) are about to send off the supporting & financial documents for my visa. However, we don't have 2015's taxes in there, and if we were to include those we'd have to send new papers from Sweden (new coverletter with a signature, new I-184 for my husband), which would take a while to arrive and having sat on the things for a while (police certificates since February), I'd kind of like to get it all in. Should I just send in and hope that they'll be willing to look at the 2015 tax papers at the interview and brace myself for the possibility of a checklist? :x

There have been folks on this board who were in the situation. They were deemed too married to file a K-1 and not enough married to filed a CR-1. Their best option to to finish the civil wedding then file the CR-1. I'm sure some adjudicators would let it slide, others might not. To save yourself possible aggravation down the road I'd recommend completing the marriage process.
    Good luck!

hello, I also live in Florida. If you go to the courthouse, they usually have an attorney that will help you file the correct forms, they charge around 50.00, the attorney will file the forms that you need ,according to your case, then you would file and pay the fees. If you don't have children or significant assets and married for less then two years (I believe),You could be divorced in 30 days. I did it this way, i live in Palm Beach. Good Luck

Hello and welcome to VJ. First, I would recommend you read the guides section at the top of the home page and familiarize yourself with the process. Your best bet will be to do a DCF, that is: DIRECT CONSULAR FILING, which means that, yes, you can file in the Philippines it will be faster but, it will only be possible if a couple of conditions are met. 1 The U.S. Embassy requires DCF sponsors to have permanent residency in the Philippines. The easiest way to show proof of permanent residency is by way of a 13a Visa. If you do not have a 13a visa to prove residency, the U.S. Embassy may still allow for U.S. citizens to file DCF if they can prove they have established a residence in the Philippines and are living in the Philippines on a permanent basis. 2 The petitioner has to fill out Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) as part of the DCF process, and one of the questions asked on the form is the address in the US that the petitioner will be domiciled. Good Luck and happy reading

if you have them in your computer use windows to view the pics, select the ones you want and then print on photo paper in the smallest size you can, (is contact size) you can fit a lot of pics that way (about 35 PICS per page)I sent them that way and did not take up a lot of space and it worked.

    1. Payment(s) as required by USCIS. Be sure to include the payment for both the I-485 and the biometrics fee*. Use a personal check so you can track the payment. Money Orders are also accepted.
    >> The fee for I-485 applications includes the cost of the I-131 and I-765 (no need to pay for them if filed with or while your I-485 application is pending adjudication).

What they will ask you for, will be in regards of the form you submitted. You've already sent the I-864 along with certain supporting documents.they have that form, bring the original supporting documents to the interview, and, I would suggest, do not over think it, you will be fine.

hello, you must remember they talk about 20 "working" days, if they received the package November 5th. you are looking to a December 5th processing date, but yes they don't take that long.In my case it took 2 weeks after receiving the package to get the actual interview letter from the NVC. You will not receive any notification from them sending out any package, unless you get a RFE. They send the package to the consular unit that will conduct the interview but, the NVC will schedule the interview. Good Luck

when submitting the DS-230, it does not matter if they are not apostilled as long as they are official copies, bearing the seal of the authorities, they do not have to be translated as long as the documents are in the official language of the country on which the visa is been processed. However, you must send the originals and regular photocopies of the documents. at the time of the interview, you may get back your originals
