After you answered, I did a little more research and came to the conclusion that she can go ahead and marry and we can deal with the name change through the I-751. It has no baring either way. Thanks for your old tired answer.

Im sorry some of the comments arent helpful. But can you see how it all looks really odd? Ghana is a high fraud country so you will have a hard time convinsing them that this is the real deal.

My case status has never been updated since i filed. it has been such a long time.but it seems like they havent even finished my background check. should i be worried? I check my status every day but it still says"

It will take about 3 months to get the card.
Why don't you do some volunteering work while you wait if you are bored? I'm sure there are churches or soup kitchens that could do with a helping hand. Or an animal shelter or such. There is stuff to to just go out and look for it

I have my oath ceremony on the 23rd! Can't believe what a crazy journey this has been from the CR1 to this! And as a nice surprise this last leg of the race was actually pretty fast! Lol Not something I'm used to when dealing with uscis ;-)
