  1. Hi guys,

just quick introduction to all, I'm Vhista from Indonesia, and I meet my BF in dating website on Feb 2015. Get along very well and we are commit to start long distance relationship. This July 10th, he is travel from Nebraska to Sulawesi Island, Indonesia to visit me and my family, and spent 10 days with me (can't talk about that, few pages won't be enough :luv: ) :ot2: and right now its my turn to visit him and his family. I was planning to visit him this Christmas, around mid of December till 1st week of January.

I was do research on internet and asking people, colleagues, friends and even stranger around, that ever applying VISA to USA before, about how big is the possibility to get accepted if I applying B2 VISA to USA with my BF sponsor, and it melt me down because a lot of them is not get approve and when I asking what's wrong, they all say, that they also didn't know :bonk: . Based from their story and internet, it was very random for VISA approval in my country and mostly for people with my age, it won't get approve because they think I'll stay there and won't come back to Indonesia (which I finally realized it's not only in my country after read article in VJ).

    So guys, we need your help :help: , especially if you are from Indonesia and ever do this before. I plan to schedule my interview on end of September and here is the document that I'll prepared for it beside the mandatory doc;

    - Itinerary of the trip

    - Booking confirmation of the flight ticket

    - Invitation letter from my BF which mention he will be my sponsor

    - My employment verification letter which mention about my status in my company and stated that I'll be back to work after the trip

    - 3 months payslip

    - Evidence of my relationship; Photo, Chat log; Facebook, Skype, WA, boarding pass and ticket

My question is, do you think any more document (beside the mandatory) that I should add and what document my BF can provide from himself to bring on interview day?

And for Indonesian member, based from your experience, which one have more bigger chance to get approve, do interview in USA Jakarta Embassy, or USA Surabaya Consulate?

That's it.. If anything I miss and you guys want to add, please do it..

    Thank you

Hi Vhista, I am from Sulawesi Island, South Sulawesi, to be exact.

I applied B-2 visa back in 2010 and got denied based on because I had an American boyfriend - my now husband-. There is not specific things you have to submitted. I submitted a letter from work - I worked in Kompas Gramedia Group-, bank statements, credit cards statements, a land certificate.

The result? I got denied because my point of entry was my boyfriend. My advice, don't buy a ticket until you got approval. Itinerary won't guarantee you will going back to Indonesia and convince the CO at US embassy in Jakarta to approved B-2 visa. There were many people bought round trip tickets and they never going back to their home country again.

  2. Wow, just got 2 emails this afternoon from USCIS 3 hours AFTER received my green card in mail. .

    This is what it says:

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

    Receipt Number: MSC149xxxxxxx

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On July 25, 2015, the Post Office delivered your new card for Receipt Number MSC149xxxxxxx, to the address that you gave us. The tracking number assigned is #DCN. You can use your tracking number at www.USPS.com in the Quick Tools Tracking section. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application. If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

    • Log-in to your myUSCIS account to view your case history and understand what you can expect to happen next on your case.
    • Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at under Check Processing Times.

Note: Don't get confused with #DCN tracking number. If you received the information like this then just go to USCIS and type in your MSC number. The tracking number will appeared there. But for me, it is not important anymore because I've already received my green card before the tracking number shows up on my USCIS online status.

  3. Congrats!!!! Go celebrate, buy something green, eat something green, just don't overdrink and puke something green...

LOL. Well, my fellow April filers, I am definitely a month or so behind you. After months of no movement, finally, an RFE for medicals came in the mail. I will be travelling back to the place that transcribed the vaccinations for me when I filed since they are the cheapest. All the places around Cincinnati want $400+ (OMG!). This doctor in Louisville does it for $170 (including a Tetanus shot because it has expired). So making two half-day trips to them. It pays to call around.

    Thank you so much! :D

We will eat everything's green tonight, .

Wow, I actually paid $395 total with all shots and medical exam including TB test. You got cheaper, lucky you! Keep us posted.

  4. I got my welcome notice in the mail to say and it was from Lee's summit Missouri. I thought it would come from a local office?

It states that I should receive my Greencard within 3 weeks yet my online status says by Sept 18. Confusing!

Yes, though the local office make a decision but all administration papers would come from Lee's Summit Missouri. It just like when received biometric, it came from there too yet we went to our local office for fingerprints.

Mine was already passed 3 weeks to received the green card so it might be sounds confusing but probably at least they gave us a time frame.

But, hey, your card in production which means you will received it sooner than what stated on the welcome letter as well as on your USCIS status. Yay!

  5. Thanks for coming back to me with such positive reply :) my USCIS office is in Baltimore i guess coz i live in Maryland ! But I have sent my new medical exam to CAHTSWORTH IN CALIFORNIA ..

What is the official page of the USCIS ? I hope that my complain there will do me good the same way it did to you :)

Most of applicants who received NPIW usually ended up at different local USCIS office. My local office was in Kendall, Florida, but I received RFE from Fairfax, Virginia. Here the official page of USCIS on Facebook. You can send a private message but also you can posted your complaint there. Another alternatif is that attached this thread, particularly where your postings at and posted on their account.

    Keep us posted.

  6. I am so happy for all of you guys :). Congrats !! but at the same time i am so sad for myself it looks like my case is taking the longest time ever :( I am April ,2014 AOS filer and i still havent heard anything from the USCIS ever since i sent my new medical exam beginning of last month (JUNE 6th) !! I have called and talked to an officer and she told me that i should wait 2 months and if i do not like waiting and want more infos i should make an infopass and go in person and ask what is going on with my case !

Is there anybody that filed April ,2014 and still haven't received the GC ?

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. That's a long wait because USCIS received mine on June 22, 2015 and I was approved on June 30. So, it should not take that long. I suggested this, if you have a twitter account or facebook, posted your complaint to @DHS @USCIS @WhiteHouse @BarackObama. That's what I did the last time because when I called USCIS the agent told that there is nothing she can do about my case. After waited about 3 weeks from approval date, a day after I tweeted my article suddenly my status was changed.

Where your local USCIS office is?

  7. Congratulations! can you tell me when did you submitted the new medical? and which service center?

    Thank you! :D

USCIS received it on June 22, 2015. A week later I have got approved (June 30, 2015). Received the welcome letter on July 6, 2015. And mine is not at service center but at USCIS local office which was in Fairfax, Virginia. And my local office for my biometric appointment was in Kendall, Florida.

  8. OK.

    1. We were not planning on lying about the marriage in Egypt. In the state of Illinois (where I am from) you can still register for and receive a marriage license even if you are married in another state or in a foreign country. We had every intention of being forthright about our Egyptian marital status but wondered if being that we are doing a full legal wedding ceremony in the US we could possibly qualify for the K-1.

    2. You have all made it abundantly clear that this is not a possibility. I thank you for your replies but maybe some of you could have read the responses already made before repeating the exact same information 10 times.

    3. As for taxes, I have been married under one year and my tax lawyer (who I use since I file from overseas) assured me that it is not necessary to file as a married couple since I am only reporting on one income. I am not trying to evade taxes or swindle the US government, our marriage was just very close to the filing date and it wasn't necessary.

Thank you all for your prompt replies.

Visa requirements fall under federal jurisdiction not a state. So, it means when you want to deal with any kind of visas process then you have to deal with the federal government.

  9. Then you'd better not read the response from the Embassy, since it will say the same thing. Please don't get snippy with people who are trying to help you, just because you don't like/don't want to believe the answer they give. People don't always have time to read all replies in a thread before before they respond with valid information. And, sometimes, people are typing and posting their responses at the same time without knowing it.

    Kudos!

  10. After waited about 3 weeks, made a call to USCIS which was the agent refused to transfer me to Tier-2 and the last resort was wrote an article on my blog then tweeted and mention to @White House @USCIS @DHS @Barack Obama yesterday, today I got surprised email from USCIS. My status on USCIS changed into card production. I also posted my article on USCIS official Facebook fanpage.

    Card Was Mailed To Me

On July 23, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number MSC149xxxxxxx, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by August 22, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I have no idea which one was triggered the card production. The call that I made or the article complaining USCIS!

  11. We are not considered married unless we get the Egyptian marriage certificate translated, authenticated and registered in the US. Right now I file my US taxes as "single" and there is no record of the marriage in the United States.

You don't need to register your marriage at US Embassy in Cairo to get it recognized. The US recognized all forms of marriage even traditional or religious one. Bear in mind if they caught you doing so, not only your husband will get denied for the visa but also they can considered you as "misrepresentation". The result? Your husband could get ban for coming to the US.

  12. Do a mail forward request through USPS! They will forward all the mails to your new address plus you receive the moving coupons from them lol~~

Hey, I just saw your timeline, congrats for the approval. But I think you wrote wrong though on your signature, :D. It says June not July. Am I correct?

Anyhow, I read before that USCIS won't forward the mail that contains documents such as a green card. They usually returned if if the applicant doesn't live there anymore.
