  1. If she is going to move countries would not France be a more obvious location so she can be with her mother?

When I read his replied that was my though exactly.

If the mother is a student in France, there is a possibility to bring family with her as I have known many of my friends got scholarship in another countries and they were allowed to bring their families with them.

  2. Hi Sis Celebes!

OP, as per posts above me, it's really up to the airport people/ CBP officers where they want you to line up. Don't be afraid to ask them, they don't bite.

You can find plenty of Atlanta POE reviews on here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?poe=Atlanta&dfilter=0

    Safe travels!

    Hi sis!

Nice to hear from you again. I won't hijacked this post otherwise they would banned me from posting, :D

  3. Hey everyone,

today I received my passport in the mail.

My husband (US-citizen) is coming to visit me and my family on sunday and we'll be flying back to the US together.

I was wondering if we can go through immigrations together?

And what is the process like when I arrive at the POE (Atlanta)...

Unfortunately we have a short layover in ATL (2 hours 13 mins). Is that enough time for me and husband?

    TIA

Each airport has different rules. I went through immigration line together with my then-fiancé ( my now husband) with my K-1 visa. One of immigration officers saw then approached us and asked a question if we come together. We said yes, then he asked us go to in the line for US citizen/permanent resident.

  4. Ohhh wait, I think I'm confusing things. The sealed envelope was actually opened during my interview in Montreal, right? It feels like that was so long ago. I forgot. :/

Based on my experience - as vary from many people- I went to the doctor, took my medical exam which was sealed and brought to my interview ( and yes, the lady from US embassy opened it in front of me). After I got approved, a few days later I came back to the US embassy and gave me passport of mine, the sealed envelope which was I believe included my medical result and other docs.

I came to the US and when I went trough my PoA at Detroit, Michigan, I gave the CBP officer the sealed envelope, he checked everything inside, took my fingerprints , picture and that was all.

  5. Sorry, I'm reading OP as they're done the K1 process and when he went through customs at his POA the CBP officer opened the sealed medical envelope and didn't return anything to OP. OP, is that correct?

When you went through PoA, did not the officer returned anything to you? I have seen you came here with K-1 visa as most K-1 visa holders I have read here never get anything from CBP officer. The sealed envelope as the previous poster said have been sent to USCIS office.

    For the OP:

The CBP officer did not give me anything after he opened my sealed envelope. I had a copy of my DS-3025 with me that I have included with my AoS. The doctor who did my medical gave me one copy. If your medical is still good within a year then you don't have to redo your medical again. Just send the copy of your DS-3025 and you should be just fine.

  6. oh ok ? how long did you wait before it changes to issued? ?

It depends. My interview was on Tuesday and I picked up my passport on Friday. It was only 2 days on AP. It varies the meaning of AP. Some of them were just for adminitistrative thing like printed the visa and others were need more documents or background checks especially to those who are from high fraud countries for the US visas.

  7. Thanks so much for your quick reply.

Did you also get a 9 digit number beginning with 'A' on your printed k1 visa? And if so, was this the same as your one printed on your hard copy of your NOA2?

    Thanks :)

I can't remember exactly what was on my visa. It's been a while since I looked up to it. The alien number IS always written on NOA-2 hardcopy under or next to the beneficiary name.

  8. Hello,

I was wondering where can I find information about what my fiance will need to bring the the consulate and/or send to them. I've read everything here on visa journey about sending her a copy of the application, the affidavit of support, her vaccination records, and the list of forms that might be sent to her from the consulate. I was wondering is this everything there is. Is there a way we can have EVERYTHING ready to send off/ take with her before we receive the letter from the embassy requesting it or we have to wait. Her interview will be at the Ciudad Juárez consulate in Mexico.

  9. So sorry I said that, My point of my question is there a standard form letter of introduction?

No, I don't think so. My mother's friend came here and they just asked what the purpose of visit. She only speaks Indonesian and they called the daughter that already waited outside at the gate to confirmed. I don't know how to handle these differently if the visitor can only speak their native language.

  10. My wife's mother and sister are coming to America for my wife's birth of her first child.

Question, is there a standard form letter (explaining they're reason of visit and length of stay) that they can hand to the entry officer? as they can't speak American.

They are coming from China and will be staying for six months.

Only immigration officer at PoE will determined how long they can stay in the U.S.
