    1 million isn't that much. 10 million or 100 million...now... ... I'd still say no.
    lol
Not even a question for me. No amount of money could keep me away from my fiance.
Now. If someone gave me that offer. Sure I'll take it. Then change my name. Does that count if I change my name? Who cares. I'll find some way to cheat the system and end up getting that money and my fiance

The K-1 will be null and void the moment it is used to enter the US. Your status in the US will be based on the I-94, good for 90 days after entry. AOS should be filed as soon as you possibly can, but there is no deadline to file. If you marry within the 90 days, you are eligible to file for AOS, even if you go past the I-94 expiration.

J and S reacted to Lynkali in I need advice on what to do
Although you will hear reports of people that do that successfully and hide their intent, IT IS VISA FRAUD to stay in the USA after getting married on VWP, if you entered with the intent of staying. No one on this board will or can advise you to do that, as it is against the law. It's also, apart from being illegal, very likely to cause serious problems for you: if USCIS determines that you entered on VWP with the intent of staying, you will earn a LIFETIME ban from the USA and will never be able to visit your fiance again. You take your chances, but I would never ever in a million years risk that. Don't do it.

J and S reacted to Penguin_ie in need suggestion K1 or CR1 please help
Both are good visas. The K1 would be faster for you, as she can petition you now, you don;t have to wait for another meeting and marriage before filing. But the CR-1 has the advantage that you can work and travel right away, which is a pretty big thing. It looks like you are set on the K1 already though- be aware that if you file, then marry, you need to start again and loose the money and time spent waiting so far.
Yes, you must fill in all the information. If you truly do not know the exact birthday of your parents, you can put the month, or at least the year, and explain in a cover letter why you do not know. Surely you know where you lived and worked the last 5 years?

Not just men. But the American citizen in general. ... as I am female.
And ... mmmm ... nah, I don't feel like I'm "buying" him. When people ask me why I'm not having a big wedding, I just tell people: "USCIS robbed me of it just to get him here." lol

Obviously, never said that I was an expert on it. Genuinely sorry it took so long.
However, your general attitude is amusing. I gave you in my original reply, a statement that was truthful and none judgemental. I could care less what you do in the end. You were the one showing concern for what is correct and ok to do. I would not think differently of you if you choose to backdate. I provided an answer of what *should* be done truthfully. Just because you didn't like it, there's no need to be emotional about it. lol. I'm not here to judge. You took care of that though. Do what you want. Obviously.
Either way, good luck on your petition.

J and S got a reaction from ukcharlotte in how often do u check your email and USCIS web to check ur status??
I checked it like 5 or 7 times total during our K-1 process.
Some people are excessive about checking it. Some people never check it. Whatever helps you get through the process.

J and S got a reaction from John Dam Dam in Still processing June 16, 2011 from California Service Center?!
It's not as "random" as we think. Someone (who worked for the USCIS) posted a link to a really good explanation. ... I wish I could find it. ... I may have saved the link at my home computer. If I did, I'll post it here.
But in short, a set of petitions go in a box. The box is assigned to a worker. Said worker goes through the box and cannot move forward until a case is finished. Imagine now, if they come up with a case where they get a hit which requires additional background check. Or they have to work on RFEs (meaning they have to put current work aside, to go back to an older case to get it through.) ... but coworker in the cubicle over has a bunch of easier cases. ... Hence, what seems "random." It's not really an excuse, but it gives some insight into how things work. The post was actually SUPER detailed, so I hope I have it saved...and I'll share here.

J and S got a reaction from elmcitymaven in Prenuptial Agreement
    That's your opinion.
Not many people go into a marriage thinking it'll end in divorce. I sure as hell don't. I'll do everything in my power to make things work.
But, no one can tell the future. No one. My uncle's sister got divorced after 22 years of marriage, and she lost half of her very huge inheritance on top of a broken heart. She didn't see the situation coming.
I know plenty of couples who have done prenups who didn't need to at all. They're together still. I know plenty of couples who did not do prenups. They're still together. Prenups don't determine whether a couple is going to divorce or not. Nor do they say "I don't trust you." At least not to me. But I can see why people might say they do. Personally, I wouldn't get mad if my fiance said "I want to do a prenuptial agreement." ... In the end, I don't really see myself going for one with him. But I also don't have a problem in having the discussion with him. I think that says a lot about our comfort, trust, and faith with each other in talking on a very hard topic.

J and S got a reaction from Kukolka in Front & BACK??? copy of birth certificate??
Just because the back "looks" blank, doesn't mean that it IS blank. Watermarks might show up that cannot be seen on the original. On mine, the back is free of information, but grains in the paper showed up that were not necessarily visible on the original. Each state is different. By providing both front and back, they are able to tell whether or not the certificate was doctored illegally. The workers look at enough of these from various states to know whether or not to look for a blank page or information on the back.
What is the harm in sticking in ONE extra blank page and FOLLOWING the directions to the T?

If you're already set on doing it, then why are you asking for advice on it in the forums?
I'm telling you what is actual laws about signatures and forms you turn into the government.
So yes, if someone told you to give a false date, then they are giving you advice that endorses behavior which goes against laws regarding signatures.
Will you get caught? It's another story. Is it still fraudulent if you do it and don't get caught? sure is.

I'd say the September suggestion is the safest. You just never know with the K-1. Some people get through it fast, others take much longer.
Sorry to hear that your original plans didn't go through.
    Good luck though!

Is this proof for the I-129F?
    Or Proof for the interview?
In the I-129F you don't need to include any chatlogs. I didn't. No RFEs.
If it's for the interview, most people on the site have recommended a simple two-three pages of each type (email, chat, phonelog, etc.) It would actually depend on your consulate. Some will review the evidence, others are known to not look at all.
    Please give us more info.

J and S got a reaction from joonphon in Dear CSC, can you please get your SHhhh*t together
Just so you guys know. 5 months is as guideline, it doesn't mean anything really. Complaining to CSC or calling on 5 months and 1 day won't get you far. They'll tell you what they tell everyone which may be: "We're currently processing through XX date." As of right now, that date is June 15 from the posts that I've been reading. Getting your congressman to help at 5 months is hit or miss. It is no guarantee that it'll help. On top of calling to complain to them, you'll get another routine answer that buys them more time.
At 5 months, I say have a bit more patience. At 5 1/2 months, I guess you can try if you're really that impatient. At 6 months, that's a good solid time to ask your congressman for help.
No use in complaining about it, when everyone is in the same boat at the moment.
I don't mean to sound harsh about it. And I understand the need for people to vent. But in the end, it doesn't solve anything. I do not watch dates. I do not check my status update everyday. And despite the fact my signature has a ticker, I don't even pay attention to that. In fact, I looked at it today and didn't even realize how many days had passed since I last noticed it. It's self torture. patience is key. Keep the end in site. All this waiting will mean nothing when your fiance/e is actually with you. ... and then 5 years from now, you'll want days with more space lol Truly, I cannot complain if I do not receive my NOA2 even by early January when I see people from June who are still waiting.
