Need to File Separately, Will That Impact Immigration? |

Hi everyone! My husband and I have filed taxes jointly since he moved here. It's not been a problem at all, except now he makes a lot more money than I do which makes my student loan payments skyrocket. The loan company thinks I have a lot more money to put towards loans than I really do. So I am just wondering if we do married filing separately, will that have a negative impact on anything? We are over a year into waiting for the ROC on his green card, so we won't need to file anything else for a while once that gets approved. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks!

Hey Everyone! I immigrated here on a K1 visa just over 2 years ago in June 2018. I now have my 2 year green card (I am 13 months into it). I have not been back to the UK since December 2019 due to Covid-19 and my Dad hasn't been able to visit me here in the states either. We have tried to be patient, but I don't want to spend Christmas without seeing my Dad! If airlines are starting to provide flights again, will I be able to travel to the UK in December and then be allowed back into the states again? Or will they not let me enter because I am not a citizen yet? I know that nobody has answers right now and it's such an uncertain time!! Just looking for a little bit of guidance Lorna

2 questions we had prior to submitting our petition Page 2 12a: address history- Provide your physical addresses for the last five years, whether inside or outside the United States. Provide your current address first if it is different from your mailing address in Item Numbers 10.a. - 10.i. So my current physical address is what I put for 10a-10i. From 12a: do i put my previous address which I lived in prior to my current address? I moved 3 times in 5 years due to school. Page 8 question 57a-58f: If the beneficiary's native written language does not use Roman letters, type or print his or her name and foreign address in their native written language. My beneficiary is an indian citizen. Her family and her live in the UK. Her parents speak the native language which is malayalam. But she doesn't know to write the native language. What should we do for this section? Leave it blank ?

hi all, maybe a dumb question. But I see if I send via USPS, its a different address than where I would send the petition to if I sent it via UPS. Does it make a difference? USPS near my house usually has 45 minute wait times. So would prefer to send via UPS. But on VJ instructions, it says send via USPS.

Hi! I live in Scotland, my fianc lives in the US. We got engaged in December of last year! We ve been together for five years now, long distance and just desperate to get the process going when possible! With everything going on in the world, I was just looking for some advice really on what would be best to do. I m torn between the K1 & CR1. We just want to get the process started of closing the distance and had always thought the K1 would be the best to go for but with the backlogs & talks of furloughs, I m so indecisive! We haven t seen each other since January and it s definitely been so upsetting. Just wondered if anyone could share what route they went down for going to the US? One of the main things I m worried about with the K1 is not being able to work right away and wanted to know what the time frame would be looking like, with the back logs? I could deal with maybe 3-4 months but ideally nothing more than that, which I guess was swaying me more to the CR1 haha but I ve got savings and my partner is working, so we would be okay! Anyways just wondered what people s opinions are. Hope you re all keeping safe and doing well during this challenging year!
