I'm in the midst of one of those Kafkaesque beurocratic nightmares you often hear about in relation to USCIS: My EAD was set to expire in August, so in around May about 90 days before I applied for a renewal. I filled in the I-765 form and ticked the box for 'renewal'. I didn't include any fees as I'm in AoS so have already paid. In August, about 2 weeks before my work permit expires (not that it matters as I'm currently laid off due to COVID) it was returned rejected because I didn't pay the fee and had apparently used an outdated version of the form. I printed out another copy of the form and returned it again with a letter telling them I had already paid (they did this to me last time) and a copy of my payment receipt just in case they somehow still couldn't see it on my file. I also informed them the version of the form I was submitting was the current version from their website, which was outdated but I had always heard "just use whatever is the most recently available version on their website". Anyway, it's now mid-September and I finally received an envelope from USCIS - not my updated work permit card as I had imagined, but yet ANOTHER rejection telling me the form is outdated. Now when I go to the website there is finally a new version of the I-765 form, but I shouldn't be penalised because there was no newer version of the form available when I applied, should I? What can be done in this situation to avoid having to wait ANOTHER three months for them to get their act together and own up to their mistakes? Should I wait on hold for hours to their call centre or is it not worth it? Should I just accept that USCIS couldn't pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel and re-submit the now available current version of the form??

Hi all, Apologies if this has already been answered by I called the NVC today and confirmed they have received our case and that a case number and invoice number have been assigned. I'm a little unsure what to do next, are we allowed to fill in our DS-160, or do we have to wait for further confirmation before we can proceed with this? For reference, I am the beneficiary and based in the UK (I understand UK cases are not yet being sent to the US Embassy in London). Thanks

One of my relatives from Albania tried to board a British Airways flight to US to meet us but was not allowed to board. He flew from Albania to London on BA, but couldn't go onwards from Heathrow, and thus was put on a flight back home. He thought that the ban on US bound flights from UK was only for people residing in UK, and didn't apply to transit - but it did. The British Airways staff at Heathrow told him that he needs a new kind of B1/B2 visa and that his older one is null and void, even though it still has 4 years left on till it expires. He was also told to get a 212F waiver. I looked that up and it appears that the waiver is needed for residents of UK or EU only since they are on the covid travel ban list. We also contacted US embassy in Albania but they were not well informed and gave us the same info we found on DoS and DHS websites. My questions are as follows: - Do the older B1/B2 visas issued prior to covid country restrictions still deem as valid if they haven't expired (assuming passport is of a country that's not on the ban list)? - Can my uncle now fly to New York via a non-banned country like Turkey or Dubai after 2 weeks quarantine at home in Albania and not need a new B1/B2 or 212F Waiver?

My daughter was under 18 and is now 23 when we came (via K-1 for me and K-2 for her). Which form should I be filing for her for naturalization? She was 14 when we got here. I've searched the forum and most people with K-2 seems to be under 18. Thanks for any help!
