US Immigration from United Kingdom

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered before but I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere online.

If I'm a 10 yr green card holder and I've just run out of my unemployment benefits, am I eligible for the federal Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) or would that somehow affect my residency / eligibility to apply for citizenship in the future?

I had my AOS interview this morning (for a conditional greencard) at the San Fernando Valley USCIS.

We arrived at 9:05am - our appointment was scheduled for 9:15am (you won't be granted access if you're more than 15 minutes early). After presenting out initial documents at the window (much like at my original visa interview), we then waited for 45 minutes to be summoned for our interview in a little office.

The interview lasted about 20 minutes and the proof we'd brought was sufficient (we provided proof of our house purchase, wedding photos, our jointly filed tax return and our medical/life insurance). We were asked some simple questions, such as confirming each other's birthdays, full names, address, whether I'd committed any crimes/whether I'm planning any terrorism, etc. We were then asked how we met, what we did on our first date - and how/when my husband proposed - and this part of the interview was just like a friendly chat .

The only issue was my medical form - there is a section on there for Class A illnesses, which apparently the doctor was supposed to put a cross in each of the boxes to say I DIDN'T have those conditions. My doctor left those sections blank. I was quite surprised to hear this, as ordinarily with these types of forms, they tell you to put a check or mark in the boxes if you DO have them - and put nothing if you don't... unfortunately, I don't have a copy of that part of the medical, I just have a copy of the vaccinations section.

The interviewer told me she was approving me for everything else - and that she was going to check with her supervisor, to see if she could approve me for the medical also, or if I'd need to get a new medical done. So now we have to wait to see if I get a green card or a RFE! I'll update when I know more.

My Fianc in the US sent out our I-129F February 10th and we haven't had a NOA1 back yet. I'm in the UK.

Is there a backlog at the moment we are unaware about?

PS. We did not file a G-1145 (E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance) because we didn't know that was an option till tonight.

Hello all,

Pre-COVID, my understanding that was with the expedited work authorisation request that it took around 4 months to get authorisation after AoS. With COVID, I suspect this would be more. Do we have any semi-accurate figure on how long this is under current conditions?

Sorry if the title doesn't make sense... we are planning on visiting my family in the UK in Dec 2021 for Christmas as my first trip home (April 2020) since moving to US in Oct 2018, was cancelled due to pandemic. I will be staying in the UK a few weeks longer with my 3 month old son to spend time with my family BUT my husband will be flying back home earlier than us due to work.

Do we need anything specific to state I am flying back home from the UK to the US with my son on my own? I know you need a notarized letter if I was flying with my son both ways without my husband but this isn't our plan hence why I'm asking for advice!
