Continued problems with SSN!

I'm once again here asking if anyone has suggestions or advice regarding an SSN not behaving...

Long story short, I have had my SSN updated from maiden to married name and trying to do the usual things like get put on husband's bank account and as an joint user on a credit card. Had problems with both coming back saying invalid or unable to be verified. I left it alone until I got my learner's permit/state ID (AL) as I saw you could verify your SSN online with a DL or ID. But even with that now, the online verification comes back with "no records match the information".

I called SSA yesterday to ask if they knew anything, they said everything looks good on their side and said I could try going to a post office to verify in person. You need to start this process online, still, to generate a barcode, but I can't get the barcode because it says there's no record of me and my info. I went to the post office today to ask, but they said they need the barcode. So I'm stuck in a loop!

Has anyone experienced this? Know what could be causing it? Is it because my DL is a learners permit (that also says FN on it, which hubby says means foreign). I've also read somewhere that having no credit score/record can cause a problem. So would getting a cc in my own name solve this? Just feel like I'm going to encounter the same issue with them not being able to verify me. I'd also note that our residential address differs from our mailing address, but I've tried both addresses and a combination of them and still no joy.

Honestly no idea what to do at this point. We aren't able to comingle much of anything because of this, the most we have is a shared credit card (I have my own card, but it's not a joint account because of this).

Any Montgomery AL, K1 to AOS experiences?

Know this is a long shot as I haven't noticed many VJers in AL, but wondering if there is anyone out there who went through AOS here? If there's anyone, what was your timeline?

I know I just need to be patient but my case filing is still sitting at 32 months and it's so disheartening considering the accepted average of 6 to 8...

Been here since Jan, married in Feb, filed in April, biometrics in May. Sweet nothing since.

Unable To Edit Signature?

Hi there!

I seem to be unable to edit my signature at all? There's no text box or anything to add text and then save it, just the option to turn off signatures for others, and the restrictions on signatures.

I'm clearly doing something wrong but I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong and I'd appreciate any help!

(I want to add a signature first and foremost to put my timeline in like others have for that easy access view (and also because I'm a little hesitant to add an official timeline linked to my account, merely because my last account got banned when I added a timeline to it))

Form I-797 C requested by Drivers services for State ID

Hello everyone!

We moved to the USA a year ago with a K1 visa. We filed for adjustment of status in mid August 2024. The green card should arrive by 9 months but still we have no sign of it. The USCIS website forecasts 9 months but we are in august so 12 months have passed. We tried to get a state ID for my 17 yo teen. They accepted all the documents, but after talking to someone at another office they said that the K1 visa has expired (it does after 3 months) and they said we 'are in limbo' and we need a I-797 letter to prove our status as immigrants. But how do we get one? No notice of action has arrived here, aside from the one that came last summer for the Biometrical appointment, and sadly it doesn't have any application numbers, bar codes, date etc. Should we just give up trying to get state ID? Everything seems to be going in circle.

Also, we ticked the box for the SSN number in the Adjustment of Status for me and my daughter, but while my SSN and permission to work arrived in November, my teen was never given the SSN number.

I enquired with USCIS last month and this week they replied 'You need to ask the SSN office.'

I always complained about the Italian bureaucracy being long and complicated but it seems that every step is unnecessarily long winded....

Thanks

So I have an update, USCIS is stating that my case is still being processed but under documents there is a letter stating that it s approved. Does this actually means our case is approved ? We applied May 19, 2024 and now we have this update.

Also if this is approved should I fill out the I-485 ? My wife will need a sponsor.
