Filling in i-9 as US citizen without updated social or passport |

Hi all, I need to fill in an i-9 form in the next week or so but am getting a little stuck on documentation. It doesn't seem like they accept the certificate of naturalization as a valid form of identification for the i-9 and due to the pandemic I don't have a US passport yet. The nearest passport appointments within 60 miles are a month out. My social security still needs the restrictions removed and all offices are closed so that could only be done by mailing my original documents. This leaves me with no documents from list A as I don't have a green card anymore, I can use my drivers license for list B but then you need a list C document and my social doesn't count with the 'valid for work only with DHS authorization'. Has anyone else run into this or does anyone have any advice? The company I'm working with is having a hard time understanding I am a US citizen with the same rights as any other and not a resident anymore so I'm not sure how much help they'll be

My mom is here in USA on visitor visa and I am planning to apply for I 130 long with I-485. She only has about 10 days before her visitor visa expired. If I apply in few days, will she be able to stay in USA while waiting to hear back on application. Other option I was thinking about extension of visitor visa by filling I-539. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Question about 3-year co-residency rule for marriage-based citizenship |

Hi all, A question about the 3-year rule for people applying for citizenship from a marriage-based green card. I received my marriage-based conditional green card on 07-27-2019, which would make me eligible to apply for citizenship on 07-27-2022. The only problem is, my wife and I technically lived apart from September 2019 to May 2020, as she was attending grad school in a different state while I was working. She moved back in with me in May 2020, and we have no plans to live apart again. We'd gotten pretty used to long-distance, so it didn't seem like a big deal at the time. But I'm now wondering how this will affect the timeline for when I can apply for citizenship. I know the official rule is that you can apply after 3 years if you've maintained residency in the US for that entire time (I have) and if you've "lived in marital union" for those same three years - which I understand as living at the same address. So what I'm trying to figure out is, does this mean: a) I'll have to wait until May 2023 to be eligible to apply for citizenship b) I'll have to wait the full five years (to July 2024) to apply, or c) Neither of the above - I can still apply next year? Not necessarily expecting a definitive answer, but I'd be very grateful for any thoughts or perspectives.

Hi everyone, Context: Currently in the UK, applied for IR-1 visa in November, DQ'd early March '21, waiting on interview to be scheduled at London embassy. Due to changing personal circumstances we're considering staying in the UK, longer than planned, until Q2 next year. With March DQs hoping to be interviewed in July/Aug and the need to enter the US within 6 months of the medical, does anyone know if I could defer the interview & medical by 3-4 months without voiding the visa application? What would be the max time we could defer the interview? Thanks C

Hello, I have a social security card in my maiden name and filed for AOS in my maiden name and now want everything to be my married name. I also need a new license as I changed states so would love to update the name on that for which I need the social. I've seen people ask about changing name at their green card interview but I'd love advice from people who have changed their name on their social please! I don't have my EAD yet and my previous visa has expired so don't have current authorisation to work. Thanks in advance!
