In the updated Form I-134 (updated on the 13th Jan 2025), it states the following, 'Who May File Form I-134? You may file this form on behalf of yourself or on behalf of a B, F, or M nonimmigrant requesting extension of stay or change of status. Form I-134 may also be requested by Department of State in certain instances. Do not use Form I-134 if the beneficiary you are agreeing to financially support must have Form I-864, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA, filed on their behalf instead In light of the above, can anyone clarify if the K1 Visa holder is NOW required to submit their Form I-134 when attending their interview... Thanks

Hi I think I know the answer to the questions but would appreciate confirmation from anyone with a similar experience. I am currently on overseas orders with my husband and with the help of my congressman, I was able to get a naturalisation interview and same day oath ceremony. We don t live in the states and were told we would need to be stateside for the interview and process for the span of 1 week. That s the trip that has been booked for next month, but now I have concerns. Questions are as follows: 1. What can I expect after the interview and oath ceremony as far as relinquishing my green card? 2. Do I have a choice to keep it and apply for my US passport when we return to the UK where we are currently stationed or will I have to remain in the US until my passport is issued? Sorry if this belongs in the Military thread.. it is but also isn t specifically military related. thank you!

SSN Delay Query |

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows if there are delays with SSA issuing SSN at the moment at all? Normally on the forum I have seen quite a few people say that they have got theirs back within 1-2 weeks after their appointment, however, it has nearly been 3 weeks since my appointment and not received anything as of yet. It does say on the letter from my appointment that it can take up to 4 weeks so I am mindful it can take a bit longer along with that there were federal holidays recently (Christmas Day and New Years Day) along with being closed on the 9th as well. I will give them a call in about a week or so for a status update though. I have seen a few people on the forum recently say that they had to wait a bit longer than usual as well. Is it normally a bit slower this time of the year (due to staff levels and federal holidays)? Is it dependent on which Office and/or State that you are applying for a SSN in? If anyone has any insight or knowledge on this then it would be greatly appreciated. Hope you can help!

Hi all, I have a quick question around the police clearance submissions. When i qualified for EB2 NIW in Oct 23 i when ahead and submitted the police checks required for the counties iv lived in for longer than 6 months - Canada, UK and NZ. Because of the backlog im concerned that the 2 year mark is coming up - should i get these done again? Iv been back to NZ since - i live in the UK - but haven't been back to Canada since my visa approval. I really hope i dont have to do the Canadian one again as it's such a faff but will do this if i need to. Thanks in advance
