US Immigration from Ukraine

VJ Forum,

I have to submit a I-290B for my wife per a letter from USCIS. My question is I am the petitioner or does it have to be my wife? I do not have a way to get documents to her since she is a refugee in Poland right now (she was over there from before the war and we were in the middle of a SB-1 visa for her to return). More issues about this than I care to dump on the VJ readers; but I am filling out the form and hopefully someone can confirm that I can sign this document.

My wife wants to bring her mom here from Ukraine for what is planned to be a couple months stay, but that is not set in stone. We just had a kid and need grandma's help. She'll be leaving her husband in Ukraine who cannot leave due to Ukraine not allowing males to leave. The plan is for her to come for at least a couple of months and then reevaluate the situation, most likely returning back to her husband. Our ultimate plan was to immigrate my wife's mom and dad once she lives here for 2 years with the green card. Will this, what is planned to be a "temporary stay" via Uniting for Ukraine, negatively affect our immigration plans?

Also, Uniting for Ukraine mentions "Ukraining citizens displaced due to war". Does grandma have to prove she was displaced? Does this question come up during consulate interview? Is there even an interview prior to the POE?

I have a July 5th medical appointment and soon I will be able to schedule my wife's interview at the Frankfurt consulate. I'd like to keep the time short between the two dates since they will be in a hotel.

Does the Frankfurt doctor give you the results or send them to the consulate directly?

How long does it take for you or the consulate to receive them after the exam?

It has been about a year since I had checked the Visa Bulletin. I checked today and the priority date is exactly the same as when I looked last September. Anyone heard the story on this?

I saw a couple of posts from people who sponsored Ukrainians they are not related to or know personally. I was wondering how they were able to find each other?

I am sponsoring a family who are my close relatives, but also have a good friend in need of sponsorship.

We looked on welcome.us - there is only an option to sign up as a sponsor, but no links to resources where a Ukrainian could apply to be vetted for sponsorship from a volunteer.

We would really appreciate any helpful information.
