Hey all,

I am housing (not sponsoring) a ukrainian woman who was approved for U4U in september but arrived in USA on 10/11/2024. From what I am reading, all of the benefits and accommodations that are outlined are very specific to arrivals on or before 9/30/3024. Per https://www.uscis.gov/ukraine...

> Effective Nov. 21, 2022, beneficiaries paroled into the United States under Uniting for Ukraine are employment authorized incident to parole. This means that if you are paroled into the United States under Uniting for Ukraine on or before Sept. 30, 2024, USCIS does not need to approve your application for employment authorization before you can work in the United States....

---> Does this mean that she is not eligible to get employment until an EAD is granted with I-765?

Per https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=164863

>Beginning 05/21/2022, Ukrainian citizens, nationals of Ukraine and other non-Ukrainian individuals began receiving US Humanitarian Parole in two phases with the dates as follows:
02/24/2022 - 09/30/2023 - Initial Parole; and
10/01/2023 - 09/30/2024 - Extension of Parole
Individuals paroled into the United States between these dates may be eligible for federal mainstream benefits, including SNAP, Cash and Medical assistance under the Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022 (AUSAA) if all other financial and non-financial eligibility requirements are met.

---> Does this mean she is not eligible for SNAP and medical insurance? If so, how would she go about getting any benefits?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Passport expires 4 months after entering the US (k1 visa)

So I'm moving to the US in less than 2 months but my passport expires 4 months after I have moved (so in around 6 months from today). It sounds like I will need to bring a valid passport for the biometrics appointment later on but what if I don't get the appointment before the passport has expired? Renewing the passport once I'm in the US isn't a good option due to how far away the closest embassy/consulate is and I would prefer to not have to spend extra on flights shortly after moving.

So my options are to either apply for an id after I have arrived, or renew the passport before I even move to the US. What would you guys recommend me to do? It's possible to enter the US showing both the old passport and the new passport, right?

My wife is filing for me to get a CR1, and she is not able to financially support me at all, so her brother is stepping in to be my financial sponsor.

In 1.a, the basis of filing, does he just refer to himself as a petitioner and brother-in-law? He does not live with her.

My wife, as we know, isn't able to be a financial sponsor; does she still need to do a separate I-864? If so, is she still a joint sponsor? Is her brother the sole joint sponsor? What do we cross in this situation? We are so confused.

Hey guys my GC was just approved 2 days ago and I'm currently waiting for my card to be produced and sent. I wanted to apply for a SSN card before it arrives if possible. Sadly I didn't tick the box so USCIS could have applied for me, oh well. Is the GC approval notice enough evidence? Or do I need to wait until I have my GC in hand?

Thanks!

Hello! Me and my fiance are getting ready to assemble our i-129f package. I think we have everything we need but I just have some questions about submitting photos as proof of our relationship.

We have printed a few photos at Walgreens that we'd like to submit and from what I've found upon googling it seems like writing our names and dates on the back of each photo is what you're supposed to do. Should we also add a short description (for example, visiting his mom, engagement photoshoot, on a trip to xyz, etc)?

Also, when putting them in the package, do we just put them all in a ziplock bag and attach it to a blank piece of paper with a paper clip?

Thanks in advance!
