Hi all,

Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue, as I am perplexed. We receieved a RFE that we need to send a copy of the birth certificate.

However, I submitted the long form birth certificate, that was ordered from Sweden and stamped with the small round seal from the Swedish Tax Agency's (i.e., followed exact instructions from the travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html). So i am totally confused what the RFE is for.

If anyone is from Sweden reading this, does my marital status on the extract of population register need to be updated to indicate I am married and this is why USCIS rejected it? If yes, I am not sure how to go about this because my marriage certificate was submitted to Sweden and there is a back log for updating it in their system.

If anyone has experienced this please let me know how you handled it. Thank you!!!!

Sorry for the silly question but I'm sending all of this tomorrow morning and want to be 100% sure.
I'm doing a petition for my parents and I'm about to send i-864 for both and financial records etc etc.

I'm living in California.

I was told to mail all this to:

DOS Visa
P.O Box 65446
Potomac Falls, VA 20165
It also states in this link to send to address above (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/submitting-documents-to-the-nvc.html)

But, in https://www.uscis.gov/i-864, it says to send documents to:

U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

USCIS
Attn: AOS
P.O. Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680

FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: AOS (Box 805887)
131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Any idea if it's the Potomac Falls address or the Chicago address?
Thanks a bunch!

I'm doing a petition for my parents.
I found a company in USA That does it online and will email them to me once they are done.

1. When translating marriage & birthcertificate, do they need to be certified?
2. Do they also need to be notarized?

3. When receiving the result in email (obviously the documents will have stamps), can I just print them and send them ?

Thanks in advance.

I ve been suffering in abusive marriage now some time. It didn t start from beginning. It s been bad past year I would say.

My husband is threatening me and telling me I cant stay in a country if we are not together anymore.
I have a 10 year greencard. Is there something he can still do to kick me out of the country?
if this is a wrong forum please tell me where to go discuss about this. Thank you.

Some i-864 questions

Hi guys...just a few questions. I'm sponsoring both my parents

1.

I have my parents police report where it shows they haven't committed any crime. But the date on it is 2 months ago. How long do I have to send all documents in before they say this document is too old and they need newer? Is it 3 months?

2.

I just gotta say it's really odd that I have to do an i-864 separately. The more I fill it out the more it seems very appropriate and possible to do a ONE i-864 for both parents. Do I really need to do it separately? 100%?

3.

It says I need:

A Court Records with translation
B Military Records with translation
C Police Certificate(s) with translation
I have a a Criminal records for my parents. Is this the same as policy records? I went to court they said they had nothing to give and I had to go and get a criminal records. They haven't been in military either.
Does this mean me having criminal records of my parents showing they have not committed any crime is all I need?

4.
I've done all things I need to do for their application now it's time for the i-864.

someone said "mail the stuff separately dont mail letters together with check" . what does this mean?
I planned on sending BOTH i-864 for both parents and all in ONE envelope. I have to pay for each check so I was thinking of doing one big i-864. Is that ok?

Thank you so much for advance. Really appreciate any help.
