My son arrived with his immigration visa stamped and we paid the entrance fees prior to his arrival. Will we need to do anything to get his green card or does the "system" automatically generate a green card issuance? It appears that his visa can be used as a green card until the actual one shows up. Thanks in advance for any info.

MONTREAL Ottawa announced Thursday it was establishing a new immigration program that would offer Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion a temporary Canadian residence permit for up to three years.

Canada, which has a large Ukrainian diaspora, especially in the center and west of the country, said in a statement that "Ukrainians and their immediate family members of any nationality may stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to three years."

Applicants are required to apply online and provide fingerprints and a photo.

So, if I'm not mistaken, pretty much every single mail service is no longer delivering to Russia - this includes USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Are there any other services which can get documents to someone in Russia?

Spring 2020 filers still waiitng on N-400? Try contacting Federal Records Center

If you're a spring 2020 N-400 filer and are waiting for movement on your case, word is spreading on reddit that contacting the Federal Records Center might help:

Quote

I applied April 2020 as well. I finally have my interview scheduled next month. What I did is I emailed almost all the FRC directors (https://www.archives.gov/frc/directors) back in January explaining to them the situation (A-file) without having any proof it is the case. To my surprise one of them replied after a few weeks and managed to locate my request, asked whoever is responsible to process it and confirmed the file was handed over to USCIS within a few days. A week or so later my interview was scheduled! That s all I did. I didn t file anything or wrote to politicians. I thought that was useless based on what I read in this forum. The issue isn t with USCIS. HTH.

I hope this helps someone, it seems painless and easy to try and might help get your stagnant case moving.
